    - Great place for omakase - Call to make a reservation and make sure you specify you want to sit at the counter (they only have 4 seats at the counter) - Resy doesn't differentiate between regular tables and counter seating - They have a 10piece nigiri omakase for $75 and 14piece sashimi omakase for $85 - For some reason I thought it was 14 individual pieces of fish. Nope, it's 2 pieces per fish - I'm looking forward to trying the nigiri next time because it's 10 different pieces - Loved the matcha creme brulee (it's quite small) - Restaurant is very quiet on the weekdays - The restaurant is quite hidden, the doors are black from the outside - Chefs are friendly and service is good

Every moment was a tastegasm with them. The flavors added to our sushi were all so simple, but oh so delicious

Wow what a gem ! This is the 3rd time that I have eaten at this restaurant, and every time I'm so impressed. The omikase nigiri pieces melt in your mouth . I highly recommend this place .

I just found a wonderful sushi restaurant near midtown miami, difficult to notice, they do not have a sing on the door. Inside the venue is nice decorated, very japanese style. Excellent service and so fresh fish and seafood. They really exceeded my expectations. We had the omakase nigiri dinner, ikura temaki, hokkaido uni temaki and cali roll, everything was so delicious and super tasty. If you are a sushi lover, this is your place.

The quality of the fish here is top notch. No other place in Miami can compare. The service is unique. They make it feel like you're sitting in your grandparents kitchen. Would recommend any one who loves sushi.

Aoko was such a sweet surprise! Initially it looked like a small space, almost easy to miss. Do NOT miss it! Highly recommend a reservation, although not every table is packed, they do have time to give you extra special service with reservations! We did a little tasting of sorts! Recommend a white wine or their sake! Their Soba Noodles are a MUST HAVE! It is quiet, and even welcoming to little ones.

My friends and I had such an amazing time at Aoko tonight! We decided to go with the omakase, and it was definitely the right choice. Every dish was carefully prepared and beautifully presented, featuring super fresh and high-quality ingredients. Chef Eric's creativity and skill really stood out with each course. With years of experience in top Japanese spots around South Florida, he added a unique and refined twist to everything we tried.

I went with my brother with high expectations as it had been highly recommended but it exceeded my expectations. The Omakase was unique and exotic with a beautiful presentation. We were surprised with an "off the menu" omakase which was a step up and so worth it! The sake was delicious and the experience was what I want for omakase- personable. Can't wait to go back (I already had my second reservation on the books!)

What an incredible gem of a place! I tried out Aoko for the first time with friends and we all went for the nigiri omakase. It was all excellent and I can't wait to return in the future for more. The fish was fresh and flavors were creative and complimented the fish well. You have the option of sitting at a table or at the omakase bar (limited seating). Service was incredible and our server kindly explained each piece to us. We finished up with the matcha crème brûlée for dessert, which was creamy, full of matcha flavor, and not too sweet with a lovely brûléed top. Highly recommend! Street parking was easier than expected for Miami.

Chef Tomo gave a great omakase experience - he is amazing. The sushi is unbelievable and most flow in from Tokyo. The caviar and truffle touches take the food to a new level. Go now! The whole staff and team - are all terrific. Reservations are a must and only available on Resy R.

I wanted to a different sushi spot so searched up Aoko in Edgewater. The restaurant is a little hard to find but it is right next to Amor di Pasta. The ambiance of the restaurant is very nice and all the servers were very pleasant. I ordered the Omakase, tuna roll, 2 pieces of nigiri and Soba noodles for take out. The sushi was spot on and fresh! Shout out to Daniel, the chef, for greeting me! I can't wait to go try the sushi at the restaurant and get the real Omakase experience!

It is small, beautiful with open space, and intimate that you will enjoy very much. The music is piped in and is relaxing. They provide excellent service and show pride of ownership. We chose the Oma Deluxe because we wanted the entire experience. Francisco explained each sushi and what part of the fish we were eating. Each dish was brought out separately. There were about 9 pieces of different cuts of fish. They were delicious! My daughter had Sake and I had Non-alcoholic beer. Both went fine with our meal. Afterwards, we were served dessert. What a great experience! Give it a try when you can. Later, we went upstairs to ASTRA restaurant and bar to further enjoy our evening with beautiful views of Miami. Parking is mostly limited street parking though, so plan ahead. This spot is more about curated tastings, sashimi, nigiri, and handrolls rather than specialty rolls, so don't expect a huge roll menu. We ordered the sashimi assortment, white fish tasting, seared salmon, bluefin tuna tasting, unagi foie gras, and a few handrolls including blue crab and negi toro. Everything tasted super fresh and flavorful, especially the bluefin and unagi foie gras. Portions are on the lighter side though, so we left satisfied but not totally full. Cedrick was awesome and really made the experience better. He knew the menu inside and out and explained everything perfectly. Definitely worth checking out if you're in Wynwood and want quality sushi without the overly trendy vibe.

However, if your most expensive sushi roll is $29, and it's the only roll that comes with 5 pieces instead of 10 pieces, there should most definitely be a mention of that on the menu. While our other friends who ordered literally any other roll got a full size portion, it came as a shock to the table when those who ordered the truffle Maki roll received 5, small pieces. The spicy edamame was pretty good. The sauce wasn't just spicy, but tasty. The miso soup was good as well. For drinks, the espresso martini wasn't out of this world, it just tasted like every other espresso martini you'd get at any bar. Our waiter was pretty good considering we had a large party of 24 people. At first he seemed overwhelmed, but thankfully they were able to recognize that and gave him two extra hands to help with orders, drinks, and water refills. The restaurant aesthetic was cute and had a few nice backdrops for photos. However, good luck using the bathroom. The one women's toilet did not flush and was backed up completely with toilet paper. This forced us to use the one men's bathroom, which was also backed up, but not as bad as the women's. To wash your hands there was a small trickle of water. Seems like they have plumbing or pipe issues. Overall was decent, but I won't be back.

I truly appreciate when servers know their menu well and are able to make suggestions. I can't remember my server's name, but she was just top-notch. We ordered: - Miso soup, (served in a charming, Japanese chawan mushi cup) the flavor was really good and strong. (I hate it when it's weak) - Spicy dumplings. They tasted homemade. Yummy - Shrimp shu mai, good, tasted as it should - Tanaka roll, with extra crispies on top, (I was not a fan because I did not expect it to be deep-fried. if it had not been deep-fried, I would've liked it.) - Peking duck served in an impressive three tier tower that looks like a round Chinese Temple. - Pork Belly Bao bun, this was also a miss for me because I expected it to taste like barbecue, but it was just really salty like they used a lot of brown salty sauce. All in all, I really enjoyed this restaurant, even though I didn't like those two items.
