Was craving some sushi while in town and happened upon Paperfish. I was solo but wanted to try several things so I definitely dropped a few bucks on dinner here. It was all good but I'm not sure I'd be making a beeline to return next time I'm in the area unless it's during their happy hour, which would have afforded me all the dishes I tried at a pretty hefty discount. I ordered the crispy rice tuna and crispy rice salmon and while the fish was excellent, the crispy rice was more chewy than crispy. And not just a little chewy, quite a bit chewy. Otherwise, fine. Not sure I'd order it again. I also went with the spicy tuna roll. Also good, but not particularly noteworthy for a spicy tuna roll at almost $20. Finally, i went with the crispy truffle fried rice with the wagyu beef. This was the standout! The beef was excellent. The rice was quite heavy on the truffle but if you like that, you're gonna love it. And the crispy rice was crispy in here. Giving it a really excellent texture. And the veggies were perfectly cooked and so bright and vibrant. The location is great. I sat on the patio and it was lively and fun people watching and enjoying the energy of the strip. Inside the space looked very cool, as well. Service was fine as well. Nothing particularly noteworthy but not bad at all. All in all I don't regret my meal one bit and did enjoy it. But I'd be more likely to return for a happy hour meal to get a bit more bang for my buck.

Paperfish is sooo good! We came here for our Valentine's Day dinner and I'm so glad we did! They had a specialty menu and everything was a surprise for us and it was to die for. All there sushi, fish, and even wagyu was delicious and made to perfection. The drinks look very well made to from what I saw people ordering around us. The music was phenomenal such a vibe too. Parking can be a mission around here because it's in Miami Beach. We took an uber and didn't have an issue. Highly recommend anyone to check them out!

We found paper fish on our last day visiting Miami. Absolutely love the area that it is located in. Adorable closed off street with foot traffic and lots of restaurants to choose from. Outdoor mall within walking as well. We did the happy hour menu as suggested by fellow yelpers. We had to ask about it, and I got the impression that the servers were a little bit annoyed when I did. It was delicious although the portions were tiny for happy hour. We got the Shishido peppers (my fav, ordered seconds), California roll, dragon roll, edamame, crispy rice with salmon gyoza and passionfruit martini. The only thing I didn't like was the crispy rice as it was a bit chewy versus crunchy, and had a strong taste of truffle which I thought was odd. Joy was lovely and friendly and the service was very quick.

Trying to find more casual places we like to walk to and decided to try Paperfish. When I saw that it was on Espanola Way I hesitated because it's SO touristy, but we went anyway based on the reviews. I always find the artificial cherry blossoms/flowers a red flag in restaurants and tried to ignore that - literal dust collectors. I would give 4 stars for the food but honestly - the vibe was so chaotic with the dueling blaring music outside from the other restaurants. Our server was ok - she had tables inside and outside, and she definitely needed deodorant. It was a bit shocking every time she leaned over to clear plates or pour water. The cut rolls were massive so that was unexpected. Definitely more food than we had anticipated. The hamachi was spectacular. Surprisingly the toro was not my fav and it usually is. Was a bit chewy which I've never experienced before. Also recommend the pork/shrimp gyoza. The food was good but not sure we'll be back - not really our vibe.

Strongly suggest you to visit Espanola way if you get the chance. This short street becomes a pedestrian only street and all restaurants have the outside tables. With the lights and music, a bit party ground for sure. We enjoyed Sushi at Paperfish, warm Sake and lots of fun conversations. I Particularly loved the ceviche, beef tartar and scallops. Halfway through the dinner, there are several birthday celebrations. One of them, we assumed, was at the Italian restaurant a few step right across from us, wait staff and people started dancing and waving the clothed napkins with the lively joyful music. Everyone was so happy. Such a fun night for us. Another bonus is that Miami Beach is about two blocks east of this street, walked over and saw bright Orion's Belt and other stars shining right in front of you. Truly stunning view while walking on the sand.

We enjoyed a very late lunch and we were so happy that we strolled to Española Way to enjoy this place. It's a very pretty restaurant with super-friendly service. We enjoyed every single dish with gusto. The seating areas are welcoming and offer indoor and outdoor options. The music was fun as well. The only feedback is that our cocktails had SO much ice it was hard to enjoy a properly sized drink. Ask for less ice! We moved to beers right away. The food is delicious here.

Got a sashimi platter and a couple of nigiri. Sashimi fish wouldn't have been my first choice but the fish was fresh. The torched nigiri was enjoyable.

Such a great meal. We ordered the Japanese steak, the trio of ceviches, and a can of Kikusui sake. Everything was genuinely delicious. The ceviche trio was super fresh and flavorful. Each one tasted different, and it was perfect for sharing. The steak was cooked really well with a great char. The green sauce on top made it even better. The blistered shishito peppers on the side were a nice bonus. The Kikusui sake was crisp and refreshing and paired really well with the food. Service was attentive without hovering. Our server checked in at the right times and kept everything moving smoothly. Definitely coming back. Great food and great vibes.

Outdoor seating was a great vibe with the cooler weather. Waiter was super attentive and friendly (even gave us a jacket because we were cold). You get to see the performances of the Italian restaurant next door too lol. The lychee martini and cucuzaki were delicious. Baby corn appetizer had great flavor. Tuna and salmon crispy rice were ok, I thought the rice was a little too cooked. Loved the idea of the handroll flight but they were not my favorite handrolls. Seemed to have more rice than fish. The veggie roll was a good choice for the vegetarians. Crispy truffle fried rice was really good and the truffle flavor wasn't too strong. Overall a decent meal, but the outside dining on the busy walkway is the reason I would go back!

We had a wonderful experience at Paperfish on Española Way in Miami Beach while celebrating my son's birthday. The atmosphere was lively and stylish, perfect for a special occasion. We ordered fried rice and a variety of rolls--everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The staff was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall festive and enjoyable evening. A lovely and fun spot that made our celebration feel extra special. Highly recommend! Loved the Hamachi Jalapeño- Japanese Yellowtail tartare / Avocado / Wasabi Jalapeno Aioli / Sesame seed and the Tuna Tartare / Cucumber / Spicy mayo / Sesame seed. amy son loved the Fried Rice with Broccoli / Carrot / Edamame / Ginger Juice / Sesame Oil Scallions / Egg / Soy and Oyster Sauce and added Beef. Our waiter was so nice and pleasant - we had a lovely ezpeirence

I always have a wonderful experience every time I go to Paperfish. It's nestled in vibrant Española Way. The decor makes you feel like you're really inside a Japanese izakaya with its cherry blossom trees and paper lanterns. The happy hour menu here is pretty amazing with cocktails and shareable bites and rolls. Tonight we had several rolls and my fave the truffled scallops on a bed of mash. Flavors are incredible! This is a great date night spot or to come with friends. Service is always great too.

10/0 across the board. I have no notes. The drinks were crafted well and the sushi was extremely fresh and flavorful. The bang bang shrimp was also quite delicious. It's hard to get a lychee martini right but they did their thing!

At first we sat outside, but it was so noisy, and hot, that we asked to move inside, and they were very kind, and let us do so. We ordered some martinis, which were 10 out of 10. We ordred a few apps-- the cod bites were incredible! And then we ordered some noodles, sushi and a few other nigiri. All of it was excellent! I would absolutely come back here when in Miami. The mood lighting inside was great-- my pictures make it seem like it was too dark, but it wasn't.

You know how some restaurants blast music so loud you end up yelling at the table? Not here. The music was at the perfect level where we could actually talk and enjoy each other. Any time I needed something, someone was right there to help. No chasing servers down, no attitude, just genuinely great service. Now the food. 20 out of 10. Honestly, everything was delicious. Not a single miss. The drinks though? 100 out of 10. Dangerous in the best way. Our waitress, I wish I remembered her name, was incredible. Every recommendation she made was spot on, and we loved everything she suggested. I would absolutely recommend this place, but part of me wants to keep it a secret because the vibe is just that good. If you're looking for amazing food, great drinks, and an overall great experience, this is it.

When we arrived we were greeted and promptly seated inside at the back wall in a booth. There was another couple to our left and one or two others across the room at other tables. The couple in the corner who was seat next to us proceeded to talk extremely loud and had several FaceTime calls with their children as if they were in a private location and not a restaurant. Our entire meal consisted of listening to them in the phone and talking so loud to each other and their server we could hear every word! This rude and annoying behavior overshadowed the meal and left us very frustrated and annoyed. If you are going to require certain attire (although several guest came in while we were there who had on shorts and flip flops) and charge very high prices, you should have a cell phone policy in place and redirect guest to step outside or leave if they feel the need to FT their family for 20-30 min. We spent well over $200 on a meal for two and it was one of the worst dining experiences we have ever had. The enjoyed the food we ordered except for the French onion soup which I sent back. The Burrata Caprese was fresh but could have used a few more tomatoes and my husband really enjoyed his steak. I chose not to order anything once my soup was returned because we wanted to leave as soon as possible. Over all the service was good and most of the food was too. Unfortunately, there are those who'd have no regard for their environment and those around them which makes others experience negative! The manager and severs were aware of what they were doing too as they walked by a few times and looked at them. But failed to intervene and for that they get two stars.

We asked to sit downstairs where the DJ starts around 11PM. The energy was great with incredibly comfortable and spacious seating. There was a 2 hour limit at the table, but we moved to the bar after our meal. Loved the caviar potato as an appetizer, and the beef tenderloin literally melted in my mouth. The downstairs scene gets pretty loud just an FYI. Service was top notch. Seems pretty trendy and mainstream, but definitely worth it.

Let's start with the good, because credit where it's due: the food is genuinely excellent, particularly the fish and seafood, which were the clear stars of the spread. And our server, while I'll get to a quibble shortly, was fun, warm, and thoroughly professional. Now the rest. Brunch should feel like a leisurely indulgence, not a contact sport. The meat station had a queue of 20+ people at peak -- I came for great food, not a deli ticket. The space is crowded and genuinely hard to navigate. Champagne required actively hunting down a server, whereas the Setai simply leaves a bottle at your table and lets you breathe. Coffee is $7 a cup -- at a brunch of this price point, charging for coffee feels a little cheeky. Then there was the pacing. Well before our two hours were up, our (otherwise lovely) server began the gentle wrap-up and produced the bill -- which is a curious energy for a "linger and enjoy" brunch. And we were charged an extra 2% as a "large party" of seven... at a buffet. Where we served ourselves. I'm still working out the math on that one. If you want a beautiful setting, live music, better drinks, attentive service, and zero queues, the Setai brunch wins -- every single time. Mila, save it for the nightlife.
