I had my key snap off in my dead bolt to my house at literally 6am on a Saturday morning, locking…read moremy purse and phone inside. Luckily, I had my tablet and was able to search for a locksmith and I am VERY grateful that it was Salt Lake Jake's that came up. I was able to email him, and he actually emailed back in less than an hour, understood that was my only communication, and let me know his timetable of arrival. Once he arrived, he was very reassuring, as I am a mobile, but physically disabled person, and explained everything he was going to do. Including extracting the broken end of my key and creating a new one from the broken pieces. He then went beyond and oiled the locks on both my house and garage doors, as they were quite hard to unlock. Especially the garage. It's incredible how easy they unbolt now. He asked me about the problem and game me a range, below the original offer from Bob's.. which I respect considering he had to look at the lock. He ended up calling me back apologizing for the short delay and even apologized again when he arrived. He was able to get me back into my storage door in no time and provided a few recommendations how to better secure my door. She has a newborn and mistakenly locked her keys in her older model little Mazda WITH THE BABY INSIDE!!!! (simple slim Jim pop lock that would take no more than 10-20 seconds to pop open). Told her that they'd charge anywhere between $40-$50 and it would be quick so she could get the baby out. This guy saw a mother in distress and COMPLETELY took advantage of her and her state of panic. This guy pops the lock in mere seconds, then says she owes him $160, but had to use some specific app to pay him. She said she only had Venmo, so he says, "okay, Venmo me, but now the price is $250, because she couldn't use the app!?!?! You're thinking the same as me, "why didn't she download the app?" Well the stress of having the baby locked inside and the whole experience had her head running in circles, so she just paid him what he demanded. The REAL question is, "why was it even $160 to open something so simple???" This company is 100% pure shady and despicable. As an Elite Yelper, I dislike writing horrible 1-star review, but THIS is a company that I want to make SURE that people read about or think twice before calling. This company truly deserves NEGATIVE stars and I hope they contact me directly so they can refund my sister in law 100%.
