This was my first time at Apache Burger and I enjoyed it. The interior is small with only a few tables but very clean. Everything must be purchased separately...I had the regular burger and onion rings and my bf had the apache burger w/ a side of french fries and gravy..add in 2 drinks and our total was $25. I enjoyed the burger, you could taste the grill element to it which I liked it, but the onion rings were a bit too greasy for me. I will definitely be returning. read more

Apache Burger is one of the best places to get a good "old fashion" burger in Toronto. There are too many places in Toronto serving fancy, overpriced, sexy burgers. They're using toppings like leafy greens instead of regular iceberg lettuce, or goat cheese instead of cheddar, blue cheese, avocado and even TRUFFLES - WTF!?!?!?!?!?!. Basically, they are charging you $15 - $20 + for a burger that may be tasty, but ultimately distracts you from what you really wanted in the first place - a greasy, charbroiled, cheeseburger with staple toppings (ketchup, mustard, lettuce, tomato, pickles and DICED onions for around $5) As an added bonus, Apache Burger serves up by far the best fries in the city. There are no specific details I can give you as to why they are the way they are, you just need to go and try them for yourself. (The onion rings are decent too, but not worth raving about) On a side note, I can understand why people rave about the place, being that it is an institution in Etobicoke. For many people, burger joints like this trigger memories of their youth: hanging out after high school dances or noming burgers after a night of booze. This is where they often confuse nostalgia and sentimental feelings with the quality of food. However, fortunately this is not true for Apache Burger. I have no historical attachment to this place, and have only been eating at Apache Burger for a few years, and I can honestly say it is one of the best. Other notable burger places in the GTA: Tom's Burgers in Markham Utopia - College and Clinton Old York - Wellington and Niagara (they use leafy greens, but the patty is delicious and they have mados. I always mix mados and ketchup together and put it on my fries) I've heard great things about Stockyards Animal Style burger, but every time I go I end up getting the fried chicken because it rules! The girl at the cash said she was from California and the Stockyards Animal Style rivals the original In & Out Animal Style. Sorry to say, I found the Apache Burger to be a substandard burger. I can get a better burger in a regular diner for a lower price Detroit Eatery, Donlands Restaurant to name a pair. To pay $10.60 for two thin patties on a large bun with a medium pop is no deal. And the service is surly at best. They couldn't even provide me with a tray. read more

This happened literally 30 minutes ago. I walked into Apache with my boyfriend and we ordered 2 burgers for $12. My change was $5 and some coins, the OWNER passed me my change and my $5 bill but placed his wrist back on the bill and pulled in back toward himself and behind the counter, POCKETING THE BILL. Assuming that every customer is drunk and unsuspecting, he pocketed the bill, thinking that I did not notice, when in fact, both my boyfriend and I BOTH noticed the theft, pointed it out, and he played dumb - stating that 'the lady offered me it'. He did give me my money back, only after argument - but I wonder how many people he got away with stealing from on a day to day basis??? I walked back up to the counter and expressed my anger towards the other employees, and they did in fact tell me that the older gentleman watching the register was the owner. They did not care, or apologize. When is theft OK?! I am severely disapointed with people stealking from children. It is disgusting the measures people go to to make a living. Utterly disgusting. The Food is great. Finding a place to sit is another story, especially on a Friday or Saturday night, when kids pack the place who aren't even eating, but just loitering making noise and taking up space. Otherwise this place is great any other time for a great burger and some awesome sides. read more

This was my go to place for many years. The food has slipped to an all new low. Burnt burgers, stale buns, greasy fries. It is sad because I loved this place. I now will got to Burger Priest on the Queensway. Much better quality. I hope they can improve their quality and return the the burger bar they used to be. If they do they have my loyalty. I came here because of some good reviews from friends; however, they didn't live up to my expectations. Their "famous onion rings" had way too much batter and not enough onion. I love onion rings but it felt like I was eating a ring of beer batter with the slightest hint of an onion. I also got a banquet burger which was ok. If I return I would get 2 patties because the bun to meat ratio with one patty was very bread heavy. The burger itself had a nice charred taste and the bacon was nice and crispy. I tried the fries which were good old typical truck style fries. I would buy them again. The service was very uninviting and the man who served us looked like he'd rather be anywhere else. It looks like a cute little greasy spoon restaurant but lacks the homely charm. Some of their tables were quite sticky and remained uncleaned for the duration of my visit. Also they only accept cash and their on tap drinks are very limited (no iced tea, or orange crush). Would I go again? Probably not. read more

Disappointing. It had been a few years since my last visit. Sad to say McDonald's is better than Apache Burgers. The banquest burger was about as thick as a piece of paer, teh fries seemed liek they were cooked in luke warm oil and were dripping in oil. Last time I go to Apache Burgers. Went to Apache Burgers for a quick dinner and was reminded why I don't come here often, even though it is close to where I live. I placed my order with a very unfriendly looking grey-haired gentleman (that's being generous) who was not very helpful when placing my order. I asked for half ice in my drink and his reply was "oh, do you want me to count the ice cubes?" Some of the onion rings were clearly burnt and when I pointed that out, he said "that's how they are" and refused to replace them. A kind worker did change them for me. For $12, I got a tasteless cheeseburger, oily onion rings and flat pop. I think this place is riding on its name just because its been around for decades but it sure didn't live up to it!! read more

This food is absolutely disgusting. We both had a burger and "homemade onion rings" You honestly can't taste the onion it just tastes like bread that is deep fried in dirty oil! If you want GOOD homemade onion rings if you're ever North of Toronto, there's Super Burger in Primrose, ON - that place has good onion rings. This place is beneath any fast food in North America, all it tasted like was cardboard sludge. The fact that 2 meals was $30 is outrageous, you go to Woody's Burger on Lakeshore and you can have a homemade quality burger with a million different topping with fresh cut fries & a drink for $12 The burgers aren't juicy I don't know what people are talking about unless they mean grease that will rot your insides later. Also I read in a previous review the staff is not overly friendly. That's the understatement of the year, the staff are basically zombies - who clearly don't want to be there. This place is a time warp of the 70s, and it should go back there and stay there. Time for a homemade place with Naturally Raised or QUALITY ingredients! As far as Burgers go Apache Burgers serves one of the best. I much prefer the independents to the big chains. Fries are fresh cut and they make their own onion rings. They definitely know what they are doing when it comes to the basic Burger and Fries. Lots of toppings. One of my favorites. read more

I love the banquet burger, something about eating that burger makes me feel like I'm at home in etobicoke. The prices are decent, the selection is really good. Onion rings are some of the best I've ever had. Steak on a Kaiser is there best dish I think, followed by the banquet. You have to get a shake with your meal, they have the best milkshakes in Toronto, I'm sure of it. They are a cash only restaurant so make sure you bring cash. They do have an atm if you want to pay for your money. I'm not a big fan of the name or their logo, maybe their families has aboriginal ancestry but I've never had the chance to ask. I don't usually want to support cultural appropriation but their food is good and until I know the full story, I'll probably keep going. read more

Very bad experience. The white staff seems to be overwhelmed with my order. Two fries, two burgers and five cheeseburgers. I was explaining some details with the order but the staff was not attentive to what I am saying. He doesn't seem to be happy taking orders from me. I was even suggesting that he takes the order slowly. No, he just wants to take the whole order all at once. I was watching him as he prepares the order. When I noticed that he was about to make a mistake, I reminded him, and he started to act in a condescending manner . I don't know why. Maybe because of my color. To top it up, his black fella tagged along with a smirk in his face, helped wrap the burger but couldn't just give me my order without an insult. Instead of eating our food inside the burger joint, I decided to take it home because of the way I was treated in front of my daughter. Only very few times I ever had such a bad service. Movie Room used it for some scenes, and now a TV series called Conviction, starring a Canadian actor, Shawn Ashmore.Where Conviction shot exteriors,and interiors at Apache.Given the long history of being a solid diner.Has the food become inconsistent because they don't care as much due to: some celeb.clients, cash business benefits,and being used as a film,or tv location? I've had a burger from this place a few years ago during a fairly busy service,bad when I wished I had a Big Mac instead.Then some time later, late one night while the place was dead. I did pickup some onion rings, they were GROSS.My university greasy spoons had better onion rings which I've consumed sober. The Apache rings seemed like they reheated them in the fryer.I have cut back on red meat,but when I do want a burger,it's not an Apache burger after that onion ring debacle. well, it's a lean beef pate, it grills quite nicely too, made by schniders for apaches apparently, so it's not a hand made burger that day. tastes good, not dry, not soggy, just right. get the toppings on it and it makes a great hungry man meal. maybe just me, but i prefer this to some of the gourmet burgers since those tend to be too soggy for my taste, too oily. if you like a simple well put together burger that tastes nice, you won't go wrong here. read more

i have read the reviews...and don't know why people rave about this place...finally went in, in search of a great burger...let me tell you the bun is way to big for the wafer thin patty cant be more then 3 oz...the rings are all dough and cant taste the onion...the fries are OK but not salted you have to salt fries and rings when they come out of the fryer...that's why McDonalds has the best fries ever...and to top it off the place is way over priced...your better off at a franchise place like hero or craft at least you taste the meat...not impressed...and will not return...if you want a real burger take a drive out to Buffalo and try Grover's...trust me worth the drive. read more
