I've been driving by Acme Burger almost every Friday for the last 3 years but have never stopped in. So I did for lunch today and ordered a 4oz burger combo. I'm not a fan of fries but they are made fresh in-house and were good. They were out of their regular sesame burger buns so replaced it with a brioche bun. The burger was okay but it was too much bun for such a small patty. The staff was super friendly

Brand new burger joint in town! Have been meaning to try it for weeks. Fun, bright decor and very clean. Comfy booths with some tables outside too. Lots of parking. Friendly staff. Smells like home made onion rings and deliciousness. Ordered the Acme burger, Acme Signature burger, fries and onion rings. For the burgers you get a choice of brioche, sesame or poppyseed bun, which is unique. Biggest piece of crispy bacon on the signature burger! Fries are thick cut and tasty. Chicken fingers were delicious and kid approved. Burgers were yummy and tasted home made, though the bacon was overcooked. Poutine and salads look great too. Nice to see the salad options for Mom LOL! Definitely coming back!

Great crisp fries - not oily at all.

This place reopened after many years. I used to frequent it as I loved their specials. My friend and I decided to try it for lunch. They were out of gluten free bread so they offered us lettuce which we accepted. This price was over $2 for a gluten free bun and when they refunded us, the kitchen thought our entire order was cancelled. We waited quite a while before the staff realized this and a gentleman came out and offered us free drinks and anything else we wanted to add. We were happy with the drinks. The lemonade was pretty good - not too sweet with an appropriate amount of tartness. The fries were delicious and the burger was amazing. The quality of the meat was apparent. I only gave 4 stars as the atmosphere was pretty bland lacking charm or warmth. The washrooms were small and could be cleaner.

Cheese curds look good but they disintegrate quickly.

This is a dine in review. I stopped in for dinner by myself. The restaurant is bright and clean and has comfortable seating. The burgers on the menu all come in three sizes. 4, 6, or 8oz. I got the basic ACME burger in the 8oz size. In a combo with regular poutine and a fountain drink. The total with taxes approx $25. The branding and signage all through the menu and the packaging emphasizes high quality beef used for the burgers so I was excited. They give you a choice of brioche or more typical sesame seed for the bun. I went with the old fashioned sesame seed bun. After picking up my food from the counter I sat down to evaluate. First I open the poutine. It looks very good. Lots of dark gravy and cheese curd. The fries are square cut. Definitely fresh and never frozen. The cheese curds look good at the beginning but they disintegrate quickly. Falling apart and completely incorporating into the gravy. This is odd and not in a good way. I prefer the cheese curds to stay globular. The fries themselves and the gravy are both above average. Maybe the fries could be a little crisper but that's nitpicking. On to the burger. Turns out that a 8oz burger is just two 4oz patties stacked. A little deduction here... next time I would order the 6oz. One of these patties would be too small but two of them stacked is awkward and a little too much meat. There isn't much seasoning on the burgers. Salt, pepper and garlic would help. The quality of the beef seems good though. They use real cheddar if you are a fan of that on a cheeseburger. Personally I prefer the good ole American cheese slices. Proper cheddar doesn't melt right or taste as good. The flame kissed flavor and the toppings reminded me very much of a whopper from Burger King with higher quality ingredients. I would definitely tweak my order but there is something here. It's not bad.

The new location is certainly dofferent than their previous locations that were definitely harder to see and find if you were not in the know, compared to the easily visible from the Gardiner Expressway location now. As you enter your nose is hit with the intoxicating buttery pastry baking aromas and you are instantly hungrier. Your eyes then catch up as you start to see all the offerings in the cooked and ready to eat display cases. Along with their favourite savoury fillings they have added sweet and baked goods and even self service salads. A gem in the area, I hope they have continued success and are a long term staple for the neighbourhood. If you atr within the GTA make the drive, you will not be disappointed. Yum-o!

The store was out of meat pies, but they had some from this company. Oh my gosh, I'm so glad I decided to grab two. I ended up picking up Beef 'n Beer and Braised beef rib. From the moment I brought it home, put my oven on and let the cooking process happen, it was life-changing. The flavour of the Beef 'n Beer is my absolute favourite, and I was jonesing so much I had to find more. Thankfully, they have a retail store! I visited the location when it was just before a holiday, and I was fortunate to try the limited-edition Thanksgiving pie. That pie wasn't my favourite, but it was still good. The best pies so far (There are multiple flavours to choose from) are the Beef n Beer and the Braised beef is pretty good. I found the peppercorn pie to be overpowering if you don't really like peppercorns. It's a delicious place you must put on your list to try

I was in the area running an errand and I decided to grab some McDonald's for lunch…read more I was hoping for the McRib but they were unfortunately sold out, so I instead decided to go with the Spicy Deluxe Bacon McCrispy ("our southern-style fried chicken patty on a soft potato bun, topped with shredded lettuce, hickory-smoked bacon, tomato and our spicy Habanero sauce"). I ordered using one of their kiosks and the food was ready within five minutes. I took it out to the car and began eating. It's a decent sandwich. The chicken was pretty crispy, yes, but it was also kind of dry. The plentiful sauce helped in that regard, although it was hardly spicy at all. (Did I get the wrong sauce?) The amount of bacon was so minuscule that they might as well not have included any, but it did give the whole thing a decent crunch. The potato bun seemed fresh. I also grab a few containers of the special Savoury Chili WcDonald's Sauce, which turned out to be a spicy Szechuan sauce. It's probably a little too sweet but I quite enjoyed it and it was perfect for dipping my sandwich into.

We used to go to popeyes for chicken, but we both have gotten tired of them. We were the only ones there at the time, and it looks like they make it fresh when you order, but not sure if that is still the case when it gets busy. I got a 2 piece combo and my friend had a chicken sandwich. He was a big fan of the previous popeyes chicken sandwich, but not the one now, and he says this one was better than the current popeyes sandwich. I felt my chicken was good too. Taste wise, I felt the flavour tastes very close to KFC, except not as salty as them. One drumstick was standard size, but the other thigh piece was huge. Fries was ok too, they use the bugger ones than most fast food prices. Price, I thought it was pretty standard for like other fast food places. Would come back to try other items.

Something new is about to hit Toronto, that's never been seen before - authentic London Style Fried…read moreChicken. And I got to eat some yesterday during the quiet soft launch before the grand opening this Friday (so there - sticks tongue out). Ok, but much like I was wondering, as I'm sure you are, what's the deal with LFC and why is it different than southern fried. Apparently, unbeknownst to me, in London, UK, the most popular late night/afterbar food is NOT curry chips (fries), that's the late night snack, but the real late night choice of Londoners is chicken. Fried Chicken, London style! While there is breast and leg available, the big difference with London Fried Chicken is succulent, plump wings, battered and fried to a crispy perfection (but not as crispy as say a Popeyes where there's an audible crunch), but let's call it and "approachable crunch", one that gives the mouth feel of crunch, without being overly greasy and yes still easy to bite into with minimal crumbling/mess. The seasoning on London Fried Chicken is both regular and spicy but not as spicy as other southern fried places - but don't be naive there is still some kick. Best of all, the way they season the chicken is that it's not just skin deep, it goes deep into the meat - ughhhhh so deep, it;s so good when the 'seasoning' goes deep. *shudders*. Oops, ok that got weird as I relived my eats from yesterday. I apologize if I creeped anyone out there. #sorryNOTsorry. I went with a 6-piece of wings and 2 chicken breasts. Which might sound like a lot but it was totally manageable and I downed it right fast, best of all the price -UNDER $12 for all that chicken. It's only the soft opening until Friday so they're just getting feedback on the chicken, but as of Friday they will have an assortment of sides, salads and even fried chicken filet burgers! I spoke with the duo responsible to bringing this concept to Toronto and they said their focus is on keeping prices affordable while bringing the best quality chicken to locals. They have no plans to be on any delivery service in the near future so you need to get to Islington and Lakeshore in south Etobicoke ASAP before it's too late Eatcrest Out
