The first time I went my appointment was at 10:30 AM, and yesterday I went at 8:15 AM. It was soo much less crowded (although it wasn't overly crowded the first time). The first red flag (that I ignored) was that the stylist refused to provide any kind of estimate for time or cost. I trusted her and the process and now, just returning from my fourth visit and more than a thousand dollars lighter, I wish I had never set foot in Salon Piper Glen. I was very upset after my last visit but because we ran out of time and the stylist was working on another client already, I decided to wait until my next visit to address my concerns. Rather than providing a solution, the stylist had two answers: 1) I was my fault for not speaking up in front of her client or calling the next day and when I mentioned that the lavender color I asked for was not applied to the proper places, or really applied at all... 2) it would've washed out anyway Which is NOT the point. The point was that it was never applied to my hair to begin with. There are so many ways she could've handled things to salvage the relationship or at least so I wasn't furious when I left, but rather than saying "this is what I can do for you today to fix it, would that work?" When I told her my budget she just shrugged and then charged me full price for a haircut and let me walk out the door in tears. At one point, I even said, if I were you, I would've at least offered to tone my hair and reapply some of color I asked for (again, not for free, but within the budget I was willing to spend today). At the end of the appointment, I was asked to sign a sheet to book to schedule my next appointment without a deposit. However, no one contacted me for over three weeks. Because of that, I had to go online myself to book and was required to pay a deposit. Due to the scalp tension and significant hair breakage for my first visit, I decided to give my scalp a break and not proceeded with the next session. I canceled one month in advance. I reached out to request a refund of my deposit or a courtesy to use it as a credit for a future date, at least a couple of in the future. I explained I only booked online because no one followed up after I signed the appointment sheet as instructed. The company only offered to push out my appointment for two weeks later to use my credit. I did want to keep my appointment, however, I knew I needed time for my scalp to rest and to let my hair grow out a bit more, which is why I requested to use the credit in the future, within 3 months. However, since the company was being extremely inflexible and not understanding, I expressed that I wanted a refund on the deposit. The management refused to offer any such courtesy or return the deposit. While, the braids looked great aesthetically, they defeated the purpose as a protective style. They were not functional and were far too tight, even though I told the stylist I had a sensitive scalp, and it was my first time getting braids. I also experienced a lot of painful tension on my neck from my baby hair at the back of my head being braided. Additionally, the styling gel that was used also caused significant breakage to my natural hair, which was very distressing. Overall, the lack of communication, poor time management, tight styling, disorganized scheduling at time of appointment, and inflexible refund policy outweigh the nice looking braids. The company prioritizes their profits over customer satisfaction. I could've been a long time and loyal customer had I gotten a tiny bit of grace and empathy.
