We worked with Annie at Apartment Corner and she was excellent. From the start, Annie was responsive, thorough in working out the details with the landlord, and very professional. We were moving from out of town, so Annie took tons of pictures for us so we could make a more informed decision. I've moved a lot over the last few years, and working with Apartment Corner was the most pleasant experience of any I can remember. In response to the negative review below: (1) Apartment Corner doesn't own the units or manage them, they simply help landlords lease them. Therefore, it may not be fair to hold them responsible for the cleanliness of the apartments. Real estate agents only have so much control over how owners leave their homes for viewing. (2) My friend viewed the unit for us initially since we were out of town and worked with Umang. Umang was responsive and showed up on time, so while I will not discount the negative review below, I can vouch for the fact that his or her experience may not be yours. read more

I recently delt with Priyesh at Apartment Corner when I was looking for a place in Santa Monica. The first thing I noticed was that I was treated kindly, like a person rather than just an applicant. I was quite pleased with his professonalism. Anytime I called, texted, or emailed with a question or concern, he got right back to me. After I had moved in, he continued to offer assistance and service with the few things that needed repairs and touch ups. In other words, I wasn't ignored once I signed the papers and paid my deposit, which has happened to me in the past with other companies. This company is a joke! can you give them zero stars?? the other reviews seem pretty fake... So I contacted them originaly from a craigslist ad via text. It took them about a day to respond which was okay. Though once I started talking to them they were not super flexible. They had 2 apartments in Brentwood I was interested in seeing. I asked for a specific day and they were difficult on times they said one of them could only be viewed at 1 the other was at 3. I took the second viewing at 3 and they said okay and sent me a "leasing agents" name and the address on the buidling. I showed up at my schedueled time and the leasing agent was no where to be seen. So I waited a few minutes then called Umang at the number they provided. He picked up and let me know the unit was open and to go look at it. He wasnt coming to show it just go see it but dont lock the door afterward! HELLO if you are not even showing me the unit why coudlnt you unlock the other unit for me to see? Also why so exact about the time? just give me a day and I will go see if on my schedule why do I need to plan around your imaginary agents schedule? So the apartment was DISGUSTING!!! if you are renting an aparmtnet try CLEANING IT????? IT was horrible with cracks in the tile and DIRTY everywhere!! I was so grossed out. As we walked out there was a hole underneath the carpet on the stair that I stepped in. Have a little decency to clean your rentals.! Apartment Corner is more or less the exact opposite of every other rental company or private owner I dealt with - they don't totally suck. I'd call four, five or more times trying to get in touch with realtors about seeing apartments, no one ever returned my calls despite leaving messages. When I was lucky enough to get a realtor on the phone, most were done working by 2pm or taking *multiple* days off in the middle of the week without a replacement to show places. And, the handful I submitted applications to (each with that damn $25 fee) just sat on my application, not telling me if I didn't qualify or something, just stringing me along. At Apartment Corner, Annie was polite, prompt and really helpful. When I called, the office staff set-up a showing for the following afternoon, a different realtor did the showing but he was really polite and helpful in answering tons of questions (my apartment-mate is an international student, so we had lots of question about credit checks and applications). We heard back in about a day and a half after submitting all of the paperwork, I was able to move in early despite the fact that my apartment-mate hadn't yet arrived in LA and thus wasn't able to sign the lease at the same time. The owner is a really nice old man, old fashioned but up to date - he texts! They have a few special rules which aren't a problem for us (one rent check, please, not one per occupant), and their always-available handymen and prompt replies to any requests are definitely a plus. Would certainly recommend over all the other a$$holes I dealt with while looking for this place. read more

I came across an apartment I was interested in on Zillow. After submitting an email indicating my interest, I received a prompt reply from Apartment Corner. I made an appointment with Annie to check out the apartment. She was very professional showing me around and letting me check out the apartment a few times as the renovations/upgrades neared completion. She even helped me negotiate a lower rent price with the owner (who was also very friendly and professional). Overall, Apartment Corner did a very good job facilitating the lease-signing and move-in. I read some of the bad reviews on here before contacting this company and decided to give them the benefit if the doubt because I saw a seemingly great apartment on the website. After contacting them I was told that everyone is going on vacation for two weeks, so shady. They also could not accommodate my schedule to see the apartment. I went anyway and the reviews are right. The apartments are gross, old, unkept, smelly, and dirty. Also, Anne is extremely rude, detached from reality, and unprofessional to say the least. My husband ended up being interrogated by her after I left to my appointment which I had to rush for since she could not accommodate my schedule and left me no other option but to wait 2 weeks until she was back from vacation. She asked my husband if we were married for real. What kind of customer service/ people skills is that? Avoid this scam of a business. I have to assume that the positive reviews here are from friends, not because I think I have the absolute truth, but because I ended up testing this company (without knowing it) twice, with different agents, and the awful level of customer service was the same in both cases. I found an apartment posted online, and I called to request a viewing. When we should up that day, the agent acted as if he was doing as a favor, not a smile, not a friendly attitude, completely dismissive. After he showed us the place, he said he wasn't the agent for the property, and to contact Annie since she was the one in charge, but he would send me the application via email anyway. When I received the application from him, I emailed Annie introducing myself, and asking if she could send me her information since I had a few questions. To my surprise she answered the email with a number, that's it. No, hi Conrad, nice to meet you, or thank you for your interest, no, she basically shoots me an email with a number on top. Second clear sign of an amazingly poor service on their part. After I called her, I clarified my questions and proceeded to send all the paperwork. The next think she sent was an email with what looked like a pre-written rejection message, that says that they regret to inform I didn't qualify due to insufficient income. It's completely cool, I understand she doesn't make the decision and that can happen, so I wrote her stating that I knew it wasn't in her hands but I was surprised because my income was actually high. She never answered me, even as a courtesy. I mean you can't help to wonder, these people are real state agents, their social skills are kind of important in their business aren't they? Would she think after that I would go to her for anything else? Well, that was great experience with Apt corner #1. A few days later I find another apartment I like, and I go to see it. The agent, Chin, much nicer, very nice attitude, shows us the place and requests for the usual paperwork, which I send that same day. I find out he also works for the Apartment Corner. I was reluctant but I thought maybe a different agent will make a difference. That night he requests an additional application for my roommate which I send to him the next morning. A few hours later, that same Monday, I write him asking if he got the second application and if he needs anything else. No answer. My roommate sends him a text that afternoon, no answer. Tuesday I send him another email, still no answer. An hour later, I get the same automated email, now from Annie (it even has the wrong apartment address in it!) saying the same thing, they regretfully reject the application. the original agent never calls me, emails me or even acknowledges anything. It is very rare for me to take the time to write a review like this, I am super busy and 90% of the times I just let it go, but in this case I honestly felt compelled to write this, if these people don't have social/customer service skills, they shouldn't be doing what they do. This company is HORRIBLE and Annie is extremely unprofessional! She has poor customer service skills. This has been the worst customer service experience that I've ever had . Annie tells you one thing but then does another. She tells you that she's going to follow up with you but doesn't. I provided her with everything she asked for and also took off time from work to meet with her. She wasted my time and was dishonest! I don't for a second believe any of the positive reviews on here. These people don't return phone calls and basically don't care about their reputation or their lack of customer service skills and integrity. I hate that I'm forced to give them a 1 star rating. We had a wonderful experience working with Apartment Corner. Initially, UB showed me the unit and was extremely helpful in guiding me through the initial process of applying. It was Annie's listing, so she took over once we submitted our applications. She was great--extremely responsive, helpful, extremely, extremely attentive and on top of everything. She answered our many questions quickly and mediated our requests with the building owner successfully. The whole process was pleasant--from viewing the unit to signing the lease. I was moving from the East Coast to Los Angeles for a job relocation. Due to timing issues, I couldn't shop for an apartment in person. I came across AptCorner, and told one of the agent about my situations. I gave him some criteria to go by (e.g. location, safety, etc). He was able to find me an apartment in a day. Furthermore, they went as far as taking a video tour of the place for me, so I could see the apartment online. All in all, everything worked out well. The apartment is fabulous, in an awesome location near UCLA, and is clean, bright, and spacious. The neigborhood is awesome! I highly recommend this management company if you are relocating from another state to LA. I think they are really motivated to do a great job because it's a small company looking to expand and it's trying to build a customer base. read more
