We did a private full day with Nick on the last weekend of the season. It was a blast and we learned a lot about climbing. Nick was super knowledgeable, friendly, and patient with us! I just had a private guided top rope climb with Apex Adventure Alliance and could not be happier. The gear they have you use is top quality and in excellent condition. All of the safety devices are in perfect order and they follow all the excepted standards in securing the anchor points (using 3 and properly placing them). My guide was very proficient in his skills plus he was able to give me pointers to make me a better climber. read more

We just did a "private half-day guided climb" at Devil's Lake with Apex. The only reason I gave it 4 out of 5 stars is our group of four was joined with another larger group (or maybe two groups?) which was unexpected based on the website description of the trip ("just your group and a guide"). It meant sharing the ropes and space, and even though the guides had set a number of routes, we were left waiting for an opening for any of our group to climb. That aside, the guides we met were awesome--friendly, knowledgable, and accommodating. I wouldn't have changed a thing with them and appreciate their expertise. We felt safe the entire time. I'm not sure I would book another trip like this though unless it was actually "just our group and a guide" based on what we spent. read more

Our family (3 teenage boys and 3 adults) scheduled a private climbing trip with Apex in Devil's Lake State Park as part of our trip to the Wisconsin Dells. Lynn was our guide for the day -- She was fantastic! She very calmly and confidently monitored all of us in a way that let multiple people climb at once, so no one (i.e. no teenager) could announce they were bored. Lynn gave each of us individual instruction and attention, even though there were 6 of us -- I'm not sure how she pulled it off. The boys absolutely LOVED IT and they all would like to do it again. The equipment was in top condition, so all of the adults felt comfortable. We really enjoyed our experience. read more

We really enjoyed our climb with Apex. They were helpful and patient. They were safety conscious and made sure there were safe ratios for belaying. We brought novice experience 10 year olds and they learned a lot and really enjoyed the climbing. Beautiful shady spot in Devil's Lake, WI that the crew picked for us on a hot summer day! Gave my 14 year old granddaughter a one on one 6 hour rock climbing adventure with Apex Adventure Alliance as a birthday present. After setting up time date etc (Apex was very accomodating and easy to work with) the time and date were to be Monday, June 30. Predictions were for possible heavy storms in the late afternoon, received a phone call from Lynn (guide) on Sunday night and discussed alternatives if the weather looked bad on Monday. Monday morning (6:00am ) Lynn calls and we discuss the weather and the decision is made not to risk it and rescheduled for Tuesday. Tuesday morning (6:00am ) phone call from Lynn saying the weather looks good let's go for it. Met Lynn in the parking lot at Devils Lake SP, we were early so was Lynn. Introductions and paper work and Lynn and my granddaughter were off for a fun filled day of climbing, learning knots, techniques, etc. They actually returned to the parking lot after the 3pm scheduled time so it was more than the full 6 hours! I literally can not say enough nice things about Apex Adventures and Lynn in particular. Everything was done with the clients best interest first and everything else second. These folks know their stuff. They are friendly, informative, knowledgeable, patient, safe and encouraging. You won't go wrong working with them! read more
