I honestly would not go back. I do not recommend the place either. I would put the facts here and you can decide as a consumer. I was charged 158 dollars for a oil change on a BMW X5 2015. It uses synthetic oil 5W30 and needed a oil filter replacement. That's it. Their labor charges were 48 dollars which is high but I won't argue about that. It is their shop and they decide how much to charge for labor. They charged me 88.86 for the oil saying that it is the high efficiency and performance oil from pentosin. Fair. I looked it up. The first place to buy it from sells it for 32. That's 3x markup. The same place sells the filter for 6.99 where as I was charged 12.99 (2x markup). I mean I understand that everyone has to make a living and I don't mind paying a bit extra for good service but I cannot support blatant rip off. When I pointed this out to the owner he offered me a 15 dollar discount because he didn't want to lose a customer. Which to me, added to the insult. I will attach the receipt with the review. Decide for yourself. For this price I could have got it done at the dealership. read more

I have a BMW MIII. I can't tell you one thing about the mechanics of a car so a few years back I found APM and became a loyal customer of theirs. If Mark at APM told me that the dingbob on the trufflehammer needed to be tightened, I paid their company to tighten it. If the wingbat on the frenchfry had snapped, I had them replace it. That's as much as I know anyway. My experience here has been a painful one. This is the most unreliable shop I've ever known. You may or may not get your car back on time. I mean to say that they'll tell you to pick your car up in 2 days which will often turn into 5... 6...7 days and a few times for me, 2 weeks. This had happened so many times that I eventually began to expect it. When I did get my car back, it was often not quite fixed. It usually was back in the shop for the same problem within a few days. As for reliability in service, I can't judge the work quality, but my guys at BMW frequently referred to them as, "the hacks," whenever they took a look at my car. APM often impressed upon me that they were doing me favors with prices. I won't write a long review on behalf of my husband, but I will say that he followed up on the work APM had done on his Cadillac only to find that they had been lying about prices and trying to rip him off.This was our last time doing business with this "company." The above mentioned horrible customer service, sketchy work, dishonesty, unreliable completion dates, and price gouging...oh, and the porn in the bathroom, is hopefully enough persuasion for you the reader to find better places to do business. I just had my Head gasket done at APM, and can tell you that Maciek and Ben were awesome at communicating what was needed. Ben went thru describing any possible hiccups that could be found along the way. In addition to that, they sent pics of the block, and work performed during the day. Not only did I think that was an upfront thing to do.. but I can keep the pics for documentation if I ever decide to sell. I am completely appreciative of the transparency and attention to detail that they have shown me so far. Any ridiculous question I had was answered completely and am glad to have this major work done there. Cant recommend APM enough. read more

A lot of guys will try to sell you parts you don't need and tuning services you can't possibly afford without a mortgage (looking at you AMS). Mark is the manager, very knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and doesn't charge and arm and a leg for great services from his professional crew. They work on tons of Subarus, but they know how to work on Mitsus, BMWs, etc. I had a tune done on an EVO 8, with an EVO 9 turbo that was running rough. 2 hours of tuning and adjustment, and the car ran strong and I knew I had someone to bring the car back to for future services. APM did a great job with my Audi S4. I bought the car about a year ago knowing that I wanted to do some light mods to it and mostly just tuning to get the most out of the engine. I reached out to them on a Wednesday and they got me in by Friday. I had planned on getting a stage 1 APR tune but he sold me on his custom Stage 1. I agreed to that as it was a bit cheaper and was told it would perform just as well. He started the process, came out to me and let me know that the previous owner already had an APR Stage 1 and Stage 2 tune but the ECU had been put back to stock. He transferred the tunes to me and only charged me to re-flash. In a world of people taking advantage (which Matt easily could have done) he was honest and upfront even at a loss of some money. I am lucky to drive a Subaru with a handful of shops you can rely on in the Chicagoland area and this is one of them. There are only 2 other shops I would ever take my Subaru to so that says a lot. This place has great customer service and they have always pulled through for me whenever I bring my car in. They go above and beyond to fit the needs of the customer and that is what brings me back. They are flexible with me with Saturday drop offs and even after hour drop off and pick up. I work Mon-Fri 9-5, so it is hard to come during their hours, but I trust them as they are honest and knowledgeable. So choosing a shop was not something I was taking on haphazardly, with knowing I was about to start sinking lots of cash into a vehicle. I got the best vibe from APM out of all the shops I spoke with, and their knowledge and professionalism gave me the comfortability to move forward with my work through them. My first trip there was for a lot of work to get my car up to par (ROTORS & BREAKS & SUSPENSION WORK & CONTROL ARMS & WHEEL BEARING & AC WORK & AC/HEAT BLOWER & ALIGNMENT & SOME GASKETS & SEALS & COLD AIR INTAKE FILTER & PUTTING SOME RIMS ON & WINTERIZATION TREATMENT) alot of work to say the least. I was informed and kept in touch with all the way through. Professional advice and knowledge given all the way through. Never advising to do any work that was not truly necessary. Also MOST IMPORTANTLY FAIR TREATMENT AND PRICING! So this was my first trip there and they have earned a lifetime customer. Was referred by my good buddy Ian W. to check out this shop. All this time I been ordering parts online, shame on me for not supporting my local shops. I will say its rare that i get a great experience and customer service nowadays, but Mark and staff are great. I have been to the shop half a dozen times already. Got the APM blast plates/transmission braces since i was installing a new clutch and the shifts are super crisp and loving it, there is an increase in cabin noise but who doesnt love hearing the car do its thing with all other bushings and mounts. Mark takes the time to help, listen and make recommendations. I never thought of stepping foot in a mechanic/performance shop ever again, but my relationship with APM will always be there. I had my bmw 335d in here for modifications. They did dpf egr and scr delete. They did a great job. Ben was very helpful and knowledgeable. The Downpipe I provided was not the best fit according to them but they made it work.The car is like a new car runs great now and no more problems at all. Has so much more power. The exhaust sounds even better than I thought it would. They have tons of upgrades available and can do almost any type of service. Not a single time has APM made up sad excuses. I have brought my 13 WRX to them for small stuff like oil changes and to big things like tuning and I can confidently say this is the best shop I have ever went to. for the record i'm a 44 yo accountant that has finally been able to indulge in a sports car mod for my 2016 BRZ and so glad i was able to connect with Jeremy at APM..i called two other subaru performance shops with high ratings and both were unable to follow through with an estimate or even a follow up call..i almost gave up but searched again and found APM..glad i made that last effort! we ordered invidia EL headers and Perrin catback exhaust with noname overpipe..sounds amazing and added nice extra torque at 5-6k rpm (which we know the BRZ can use as much as it can)..the car is a blast to drive and can't wait to do more mods as soon as possible which i guess means a blower ;) ..also met Ron at the shop as well and couldn't be a nicer, more professional crew..estimates were generated with all the breakdowns and specs, service was scheduled in timely manner and the car was done the same day..keep up the great work guys and thanks again read more
