Terrible short review and check of our pet. After a little over ten minutes, a pathetic analysis, 350+ dollarsand no answers, we took our dog to an actual vet that spent OVER an hour with her. We got a REAL diagnosis and plan to help her out. With the meds and hour long check/talk, assessment we spent half the money and are 100% satisfied. I will NEVER go to this Countryside establishment again. Maybe you should retire sir. Your passion and expertise can be found in a trash can. We have many at our house to choose from. If you opt to wear clown shoes from now on when you check animals I'll give you two stars since people will get an indication of how you evaluate. Their offices are located by the most beloved trails in all of Appleton with LARGE parking lots. They recommend you walk the trails with your pets; but then randomly place flyers on cars they don't think are customers. No evidence of that unless you call and tell them you are a customer. I have been taking my dog (10 years old) here since she was 8 weeks old and have seen the level of care dwindle over the years. In the beginning they were fantastic, caring and helpful. I have wanted to switch the last few years but haven't because we haven't had issues. Now with a senior dog who is dealing with something they have been less than helpful. I will be pulling all of my dogs records and going elsewhere to find another vet who cares and isn't just in it for profit. read more

If you asked me a few years ago it would have been 5 stars. However, after dealing with them the last month it would be one . The new app is terrible. They weren't answering their phone 3-4 times Friday although they were open. The communication has been absolutely terrible for this week. Extremely frustrating. read more

My dog had an emergency, he's 12 years old and had some type of scary seizure. Our normal vet of 12+ years wouldn't see him, it was 5pm. I called Countryside and they told me to bring him. The excellent level of care they provided to us was priceless. They were honest and fair with what our options were and they went above and beyond, kind and caring. Wanted to add some pics now that we live in a COVID world. You will see signs on the windows and at the door. Just text to a number and they come out to get your pet. Then when they are finished they call u and being out your pet and u give them a card or payment method over the phone. Again, this is just a great place. My dog was very sick on Fri night and I left a message for them to contact me on Saturday. And they were able to get my furry friend in. I don't trust just anyone with my animals. These people are all amazing. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. They are great to work with and can give u money saving ideas too. read more

It makes me very sad to write this review. For over 18 years, Amber and Dr. Jay have provided excellent, loving care for all of our dogs - and they hold a place in our hearts for their compassion, dedication and knowledge. However, in the past six months, we have had to leave Countryside due to poor care. We made it through the transition with Dr. Jay leaving with Amber's help. Unfortunately, a simple staph infection on our beloved dog's foot was NOT properly diagnosed or treated and the result was five months of horror for the dog and us and thousands of dollars spent - that was not needed to be spent. Fortunately, we have now found a knowledgeable, caring vet and staff at Heritage Animal Hospital and while the loss for our dog is not reversible, we are thankful for the better care and caring staff that we have been treated by. The nicest vet office I have been to. Separate entrance for Cats, very clean, incredibly nice and helpful team. They have raised the bar on vet services, Dr. Angela and team were so patient, informative, and spent time w/ my pet and took cues on her likes/dislikes. I brought my little girl in for a physical. Due to Covid everything is a mess. It's a hassle having to work outside the clinic in the car, but there is no choice. I was finishing up a business call [ couldn't end the call but almost done] and as I was calling the clinic back the technician came out with an angry look on her face and threw my girl at me through the window and left in a huff. It takes them a day or two to call back even when we were in the middle of a treatment plan and never had 2 minutes to talk about the future treatment protocols. It is unacceptable to treat a dog and a client in that manner. I pulled my records from this clinic and went to a really outstanding one. read more

This is by far the best veterinary clinic I've ever been to. The staff and veterinarians have been amazing . It's nice to have a clinic that answers the phone and returns calls really quickly. I love being able to ask questions and have support for an elderly pet when other clinics just want to give up and put him to sleep due to age. read more

Lost my little girl on May 16, 2023. She was the sweetest little dog. It was so hard to put her down but I loved her too much to let her suffer. The staff at Countryside Vet were so kind and caring knowing how difficult this was. They provided a little room for myself and son to spend Bella. We were given as much time as needed. They took excellent care of our 4 month old golden retriever puppy, Piper. I was worried about how she might react to the tests but the vets handled her great! We were also noticing some dandruff on Piper's stomach even though biweekly baths with gentle oatmeal shampoo were part of her routine. The vet was able to give us some great recommendations and advise us on all our other questions. This is definitely an Appleton vet clinic I will continue to go to. read more

We've been taking our cats to Countryside Vet for many years to see Dr. Stempa. She's professional and kind and has seen us through several chronic issues with our cats. She has always been sure that the treatment is the most up to date and that we understand why and what it's doing. It's a good feeling knowing that you have a really competent vet and you don't have to try and google symptoms and diagnose your own animal. The vet techs also show much they love animals each time I'm there. read more

Horrible.. absolutely horrible, unprofessional and 2-faced. Very concerned when talking face to face but when you reach out for help it's just not there. Dog came down with diabetes was told to administer insulin and contact them in 4 days.. not instructed how to administer it, not told to get numbers or anything, basically just call us in 4 days and let us know if your dog is dead or alive. Then they didn't even call the prescription in.. had to go through their third party answering service to get them to have the on call doc call me back to even get the damn prescription. Got more advise and instructions from the pharmacist at walmart than these people ever gave me. Then my dog is so dehydrated I haven't been able to get enough blood to get a glucose reading and trying to help my poor dog that has been dying before my eyes.. called and asked for a prescription for fluid to get him to at least drink water. Had to call back at the end of the day because there was no communication. Vet finally called at the end of her shift suggesting I call her if I need help. Called back and left a message that I was taking care of the dog at the moment and didn't hear the phone and could she please call me back again. Now they are closed.. no call, no message, no nothing. Guess I just need to wait until the morning. Over the past month of care with these people my dog has gone from 17 pounds to 12.5, no longer eats or drinks water, has diabetes that I can't even test the level because he is so dehydrated he can't even get a drop of blood out big enough to test and they simply don't give a shit. I think at this point it is too late to save my dog but I am going to try a different vet tomorrow and see if there is anything they can do. I'll never use these people again nor will I ever say a good word about them. You would think if you are paying higher than average rates for care you should at least get the same attention and care that the "cheap" vets provide. read more

My mother has an old cat, a 17 year old Cornish Rex. She needed to go to this vet clinic for an enema, and Dr. Jay Peters and Dr. Renee Palmer were involved. They were made aware that my mother's cat had a history of having adverse reactions to medications. After my mother's cat's appointment, she took her home, and during that night, her cat had passed away. When she reviewed the medical records after her cat had passed away, she discovered that her cat was given medication at the clinic without her knowledge before she was sent home. I had taken my Chocolate Lab to Dr. Jay Peters since she was a pup. She has had many allergies from chronic ear infections to red/hot spots on her belly, in addition to bald spots around her eyes. CountrySide had been giving her monthly allergy shots and charging $139 per shot. My new vets at Kaukauna Vet Service only charge $102 for same shot. CountrySide's shots were not that effective. When I told my new vet at Kaukauna he said that something else might be wrong. With a piece of scotch tape and a microscope he touched my dog's skin with tape and discovered yeast infection with the microscope. She had had this yeast infection for around 4 years and CountrySide's Dr. Jay Peters didn't have a clue. So disappointing CountrySide! My Lab is doing great now and the allergy shots are very effective...Yeah, Dr. Gagnon :-) read more

CountrySide Veterinary Services is more than just a veterinary clinic to us; they are like part of our family! After moving to Wisconsin from California 3 1/2 years ago, I got a recommendation to them from a neighbor. I needed to get my elderly poodle set up with a vet who was going to be extra attentive to his needs. I couldn't have asked for better care and concern over the next two years! Dr. Jay Peters made the transition so easy for us, and went out of his way to keep our Ziggy as healthy and comfortable as possible over the next 2 years. When, at 15 1/2, it became sadly obvious that quality of life was in question, Dr. Jay and his sweet vet tech, Amber, again went out of their way to make his passing peaceful and comfortable--in his own home, and in our arms. They allowed us to have beautiful memories of our last moments, for which I will be forever grateful... When we were able to welcome a new puppy into our home again, Dr. Jay was as excited for us as we were ourselves! He is always available for questions and advice, and has continued to be a great resource as we work our way through the "challenges" of raising a spirited puppy.
