I purchased an iPhone 12Pro and had trouble with it from the time I turned it on. After hours and hours on the phone and in the Verizon Store, along with Apple, I was given an appointment for the Apply store for them to verify that the phone was defective. I was greeted by Brandon who helped me get set up with a new appointment because Apple Tech Support booked me a "sales" appointment. I returned the next day and Brandon remembered me and spoke to the tech guy named Dominique. Dominique took assessed the situation with grace and assurance and determined it was probably the phone that was defective. He followed through by getting a new device and moving everything over from the old phone to the new one. I appreciated both Brandon and Dominique for making my a positive experience. read more

Closest parking is the Red Garage by JC Penney. Then follow the signs towards Macy's. A zoo. This place is like walking into a zoo so don't go in if you're claustrophobic of crowds. And if you have to have to go, make an appt ahead of time online with the Genius Bar so you don't have to wait too long for service. Or you can chance it and walk in and make an appt. You may luck out and get one within 15 mins. These guys get 4.5 stars today. Not because of the crowds (although that's a good indicator of great products and the love for Apple) but because their customer service was top-notch. Yes we had to wait for 10 mins past the appt time. BUT the service reps helped replace an iPhone for free...it was past warranty because of being overseas. AND they are fixing a broken hinge on the MacBook Air. For free. Guess the thin laptop isn't meant for manhandling and hardy use. And while waiting you can play on the iPad. Mind you, this was all on a holiday weekend. Not bad, not bad. read more

The last few times I came here to resolve my phone issues it is always the WORSE! This experience wasn't any better because Edwin tried to make me feel like I was illiterate when it came to my phone...I wouldn't say that I was an expert but I know I'm not illiterate when it comes to Apple© products. I came in for assistance with uploading and downloading things from the cloud since the last time I was here I thought I had done it but obviously not because I lost all my information....insert furious face...hundreds of pictures and many videos GONE! Well Edwin did assist with that process but he was very condescending and acted like he had better things to do...yo, you not getting paid on commission. I ended up dismissing him like he dismissed me and sold my phone back to another associate because Edwin and I would have probably came to blows had we kept being in each other's presence. I've never gotten issues resolved here...they only good for purchasing a product that you have already researched. I can not wait til they open Clarendon back up cuz this store is not in my top 5! read more

It's always packed. There are just not enough attendants to help you. Book an appt ahead of time and you will still have to barge your way past many many shoppers to get in. We have lived here for 3 years and since this store opened - ah.. it's busy. And yes if you are just trying to run in and purchase something quick - you will have to park far away and it will take a while regardless of how fast you can locate what you need and find someone to check you out. They were helpful when my nano crashed - they just factory slicked it - which worked. But it took for-ev-er to get someone to help us, and the hostess that was attending - oh man she was rude. oh well.. if you need an apple store though this is it, but I recommend buying your apple products online. read more

Morning of Thursday, August 30: My dad wasn't in the best of moods when he entered this store with me, as he is knee deep in identity theft issues. The young guy he first encountered paired him up with the perfect Apple rep. (Don or John? My family is divided on that. Let's go with Don). He was so incredibly patient, not only explaining the array of available iPhones, but also dealing with Verizon Wireless because Dad's (voluntary and protective) credit freeze caused a snag in closing the deal. Maybe they simply matched a grey-haired rep with a white-haired customer but it worked. Don, I peeked at your contacts while you were showing us iphone tricks on your own phone and I see that you are possibly retired from the DOJ. Well, you are amazing in your second career, swiping a credit card in one hand while talking to Verizon on the other. Smooth, funny, helpful. My family and I really appreciate it. Most of all, thank you for dealing with Dad's coffee breath. For the record, I did try to give him a lemon Hall's drop, but he wasn't having it that day! Most of the negative reviews of this store appear to be about how long it takes to replace a screen. I can't speak to that. I just know we got great service. read more

I spent a lot of today trying to get a Genius Bar appointment. I called, I looked online a dozen times and I actually went to the store. They are not excepting walk-ins and there are no appointments available. So you go to the store and they offer you no help or any solution to your phone issue anytime even in the future. I'll bet you can walk in to buy a phone. I just spent 30 minutes with a chat online to try and find an appointment anywhere near me at all and were told there are no appointments available at any store anytime soon. I understand covid is an issue but to not have any appointments available anytime this year is not very customer friendly. That is not standing by your product. At this time once you buy your phone don't except any service or support for it. read more

Came in for what I thought was a big problem (my phone stopped charging) and left within 10 minutes!! Apparently you can get lint in your charging port and clogs it up. I thought I'd have to get a whole new phone. Great, fast service. They never let me down! Will be back soon to buy a new laptop. read more

While the staff is friendly, we couldn't be more disappointed with the service and assistance. In July, over the course of one week, I spent 9 hours in this store trying to get my younger son's iPhone 7 (1660) out of "No Service" And was repeatedly told his phone didn't fit the "recall protocol". I had to buy him a new phone. Now my older son's iPhone 7, also a 1660, has the same issue. After several hours on the phone and 4 hours in the store (so far), we have a second non-working phone and a manager trying to sell him a newer upgrade. Everything done at this store is for the convenience of the staff, not the customer. I made a genius bar appointment for 1:45 PM. I got there promptly and after they took my temperature, they told me to wait in a line. "I've got an appointment," I told the bouncer. He just nodded and motioned for me to stand on a blue dot on the floor. There I stood for a good ten minutes when I was directed to stand in another line. There I stood for another ten minutes. When I asked one of the bouncers how long I could expect to wait, I was treated with silence. I had to repeat my question three more times before someone told me, "They're going as fast as they can." I replied, "That doesn't answer my question." After lobbing that question out another three for four times, I was told, "We're backed up." What's the point in making an appointment when it isn't even honored? I could see inside that there were a number of "associates" just standing around doing nothing. I was fifth in line. In all that time, nobody was taken in for assistance. One gentleman in front of me looked like he might faint at any moment. Did they offer any of us a chair? No. It seems even the basics of human kindness are not a priority at the Apple Store of Annapolis. My last words, as I left, without every having my problem addressed was, "Screw you people!" They didn't care. I called the 800 number to complain. They set me up with an appointment with a nearby Best Buy, where I should have gone in the first place. I will never set foot in that store ever again. Nor will I ever buy another Apple product. My iPhone 11 is already having problems charging. My MacBook Pro is constantly freezing. Apple used to mean quality. Now it means garbage. Abandon all hope, ye who enter! read more

Unpleasant experience I had an appointment for 2:30 on a Wednesday and upon walking in, I was told to sit and wait on some decently patronizing and very uncomfortable chic looking kiddie-stools until I would be approached to get my macbook's issue resolved. If you have a bad back, you may want to take some ibuprofen prior to our arrival. Unfortunately, I'm serious. So after about an hour and fifteen minutes of waiting and watching people being served within mere seconds or minutes of a walk-in, I approached someone and he told me to take a seat at a table (a bit more dignified). In a couple minutes we got to work, basically rendering my time-waited as a pointless waste of my time. We replaced the battery after he performed some diagnostics and found that my drives and memory were solid, and he charged me and I went on my merry way. So basically what I suggest to those reading, is that if you respect your own time, you should refrain from making a scheduled appointment and go for a walk-in. It sounds counterintuitive, but that just about sums up the logistical hell that is Apple's customer service. The people themselves are friendly, but it's nearly impossible to reach them. I recommend the one in Pentagon City to anyone willing to make the drive. read more

Visited the Apple Store today to possibly upgrade my iPhone 7. Nicholas is the gentleman who helped me and he was awesome! I was on the fence about actually upgrading, and he was very patient in answering my millions of questions. He was very knowledgeable and I left feeling completely comfortable and informed of my options for upgrading. He was super friendly and accommodating and made me want to come directly to the Apple store for any of my Apple questions - instead of googling or heading to my nearest Best Buy to ask questions. After an hr of waiting for their system to catch up to the activation I cancelled my order. Long story short they wouldn't listen to what the Verizon employees told me to do once I got the phone. My experience today was exceptional! I was late to my appointment at 6:30pm due to unforeseen circumstances. When I arrived they assured me that I would still be seen by a technician. I was greeted as soon as I entered. I was instructed to sit. Minutes later I was greeted by Tony. Let's just say, he was awesome! He listened attentively to my issues. He did a diagnostic test on my XR and determined that either a factory reset was needed or a phone replacement. I appreciate his knowledge of the phone and patience with me. I brought in an IPhone 3GS that I tried to update and it crashed BECAUSE of ITUNES! I got Devin, the charge first ask questions later "Genius." "Your phone is out warranty, so you'll have to buy a new phone." "ITunes broke it though during the update last night." (It's stuck on the connect to iTunes screen) "Sorry, I can't do anything about it. You'll have to buy a new phone." "Ok, get your manager then." (Over comes manager, lets call him Mr. Pretentious.) Mr.P explains to me the same thing Devin did.. good thing he gets paid the big bucks. He told me an array of things could cause the screen aside from iTunes. I asked "Like what?" He couldn't name any. He brought it to the back and magically the techs in the back can get the phone fixed. Cost to me: $0.00 This place is either a scam or incompetent, I don't know which is worse. I went on the day after Christmas at about 8:00 pm. Do NOT do this. Go during off peak hours. If you go during Christmas vacation peak hours, the place is a chaotic zoo over run by all the next lil' steve jobblets hogging all the test ipads while the staff, while is at once incredibly helpful and incredibly unavailable to help you (because they are talking to each other) until you are THIS close to walking out & buying the charger at Marshalls. I got a new charger. And if I wasn't desperate for it, I would have walked OUT without it. read more

I came in and ask to speak to the manager because I have a complicated issue to resolve. The greeter introduced me to Chip the manager who proceeded to tell me I would still have to wait for a specialist even though that's why this problem happened originally because the specialist was untrained. So Chip walks away and proceeds to chit chat with the second greeter near the laptops. I overheard their conversation and they were speaking about personal weekend activities. I approached chip and ask him to deal with my short issue since he is obviously available. He lies to my face saying he was discussing customer issues with the second greeter and asks me how do I know he was or was not talking about customer issues. He then said get back in line there are still two people in front of you. I'm a manager to only support the specialists and not customers. So glad I can have help from non-existent managers. Beware his obvious disregard for customer service and satisfaction. read more

We all know that Apple brings you in to the fold, never to let you go. There is no greater display of this than when you purchase a 3rd party screen for your cracked screen, forgot that that happened, go to Apple to try to get it reinserted and Apple says oh NO you didn't just bring us an external party part. No ma'am, not servicing it. And normally, I would be ok with that. But the issue at hand is that when I walked into that Apple store, my phone was fully functioning, save that I had to use the accessibility button as the fall knocked out home button usage. However, when Apple gave me back my phone, it was not in working order. Ultimately, they took my phone and ensured that it would not work so that I would have to purchase a new phone prior to my departure from that store. Awful. The manager Amy was definitely trying to rectify the situation, but I want to point out that David is the main issue here. He was ultimately a disaster in that he came out from the back and threw my phone at me to avoid the scene when I realized my phone didn't work. Did I mention that David was awful? The point is, this is a bruise on the Apple; horrific customer relations. read more

A little over a year ago I bought an iPad for $499.00. Last weekend I notice a thin line had started appearing on the display. Tried rebooting, updating, etc.... The line remained. Went down to the store and showed it to one of the children working there. I told him I thought I had it more than a year and it might be out of warranty. He tells me not to worry, sets me up,with an appointment with the "genius" bar for 7 pm on Monday. By the way, "genius" is a joke. Get there ten minutes early, another one of the children takes my name and tells me the "techs" are in a meeting. I can wait over by the laptops. Fifteen minutes later, a girl comes up to me, looks up the serial number of my iPad and proceeds to tell me it is out of warranty. Duh! She then tells me that for another $299.00 I can have a refurbished iPad. I asked about the new one the kid mentioned on Saturday . She had no idea what he was talking about. They do not offer new iPads for ones out of warranty. Needless to say, I came home with my old one. If I did spend a small fortune and send it off to apple tech repair, they would only warranty the repair for 90 days. Next time, I think I will get a tablet from acer or google or some other manufacturer that doesn't overcharge for their products in the first place. read more

Wow, that's novel. Anyway, I had a fabulous experience here on Monday. I upgraded my phone and the techs who were helping me were amazing. It took over 2 hours - verizon wireless issues. Throughout the time they were pleasant, helpful and apologizing to me (no need to apologize at all but that's my point they are very customer focused). I've been in the Annapolis Mall Apple Store enough times to know that I hope to never have to return! For the most part, I've experienced horrible customer service from a bunch of people who act like they are really bothered by the fact that I was asking them questions. Took my iphone4 to them b/c it stopped charging about a month after I had bought it. After 16 days, 4 trips to the Apple Store, 3 trips to Verizon, and a 30 minute call to Apple Care, I was finally able to get a new phone. The whole process was a nightmare. This, like many other Apple Stores, suffers from a distinct lack of actual apples. I mean, no fruit at all! But really... like most of this store's locations, the Annapolis Apple Store has S E R I O U S under-staffing issues with regards to their Genius Bar. You'd think Apple could manage to balance customer base with employee/genius numbers, what with being a popular company with a non-niche market since the 1st iPod came out. My experience with this newly-opened location is as follows: Drop off MacBook Pro for repair. Told it would be "about a week" with transfer between store and repair depot at "a day or two". Clearly the standard customer rep here doesn't actually know what is entailed in a depot repair/shipping situation. It took 3 days for it to even get into FedEx's system, and then a proper week to be sent back. Ok, a little off, but not bad. Then, after FedEx registered it as signed for at the store (ie- fixed and returned to point of origin), it sits in the store for 2-3 days before it even gets checked in. We're past a week, now. Then, in what I'm told is a "2 hour procedure" where the geniuses at the store make certain the issues were fixed and the depot did their job, somehow my computer sits on their workbench for 5 more days. Five. Two weeks have now passed since I dropped off my computer. I finally get it back on the fifth day since the store received it from the repair depot. Every time I go in here, it's packed and there are people waiting to be seen for various things. It's filled with noisy kids, and customer reps who while VERY helpful and quite willing to assist you within their purview, can't actually help you do more than get on a wait list if you're there for more than a mere purchase. Apple Stores worldwide need to step up their Genius Bar numbers so that hardware and software issues can be resolved in-store, or processed on return from the repair depot, in a timely manner. read more

I walked in today with every intention of buying a new mac book for my business. as I am looking around I see a apple store employee talk down to a customer who bought a new mac book with a faulty space bar. Although she had called an arranged a loaner, he said wouldn't give her one. He said no appointments were available for 2 days and he can't help her. He even acknowleged the design fault, but treated her so poorly I walked out rather than buy a new mac book for my business. the last thing I want is one of my employees being told there is no help for days after making a $2k purchase. read more

I preorder and the order took 20 minutes to get when I could have pick off the shelves quicker. I spent time to preorder and then had to wait longer than I would if I just walked in. Hmmm, the Apple Store. I honestly cant say that I am very impressed with this store. It is always so crowded in there that you can hardly move. Also when I've set up reservations, they are always at least 15-20 minutes late. I remember when I bought my first ipod a few years ago, I had called with a few questions on how to set it up. HORRIBLE customer service!! When someone finally answered the phone, she hung up on me mid-question. I then called back and another guy picked up. I explained to him what happened and he told me that sales associates are not allowed to be on the phone with customers for longer than 5 minutes at a time. Umm, okay, but don't just hang up on me. I had also went back to the store back in March to see if I can bring back a broken iPod which STILL had an effective warranty on it. The kid kept accusing me of it being broken because I supposedly "dropped" it and that I would have to buy a new Ipod. Seems to me like they try to get out of honoring a warranty every chance they get. Great products but the crappy customer service is what is making me hesitant to keep going back. read more

I have been here 4 times in past 3 months with issues with my iPhone 5's. The first time, it was a jack issue for the headphone - which was not covered under the warranty. The gentleman helping me was brilliant and quick but only wanted to keep suggesting I pay $200 plus for a new phone. Long story short, I left the store and decided to try to remedy the phone myself. My second visit came this past Friday, when I my "lock" button stopped functioning. I was able to get an appointment in the afternoon, got there on time and was taken care of in about 40 minutes. The woman who help me, I think her name was Anita was nice and extremely helpful. She swapped out my phone for a replacement because it was still under the year warranty. It was definitely a pleasant experience. Just wish I didn't have to wait so long I did receive the replacement phone over weekend. The new phone surprised me by completely shutting down in the middle of the day at full power. I decided to make the trek back to the store hoping they could quickly troubleshoot the power issue. The initial employee who set me up with the appointment was quite pleasant. Needless to say, it was all down hill from there. Of course, the "tech" I was given was the same slick gentleman I mentioned from my first trip a couple months ago. He was once again looked annoyed to have to explain anything to me, let alone even try and give me helpful answers to my questions. After another long visit the phone problem was finally resolved I left a little frustrated but was happy that my phone was functional. I know its sometimes hard to hire people with a high level of customer service that many of us are accustomed too. This Apple Store location need to keep on top of some of their associates to ensure that they receive the proper customer service training. Apple has great products. Their employees should be trained to be just as great. read more

One day coming into this mad house to get service to my HAZARDOUS IPhone 6Plus. I set a Genius Bar appointment and drove 25 minutes from my home to be told take this phone back home we didn't find anything from with it. In which it was actual smoke coming out of the bottom (how scary). I left the store and then went to Georgetown to later find that something was going on with the phone thy ran test the treat came back and the guy I have to swap this device out; I than called the store back they said oh we apologize but we didn't find anything wrong. Long story short they lied; the employee acted as if he was the store manager and they didn't give a shit about me or my life I could've possible caught on fire. The hell with this Apple Store! This store had what looked like high schoolers as sales associates. My girlfriend bought a very expensive Mac book Pro only to have the shipping box dropped in front of her. The corner of my iPad dropped onto my iPhone 6s screen and smashed the glass digitizer and lcd. It's possible other stuff underneath got smashed a little too but everything except the screen seemed to be functioning properly. I saw online that a screen replacement was $129 without AppleCare+ and checked Genius Bar appointments for the next day. I signed up for a 5:40 pm appointment which was the earliest at the time, but I went in at 10 am to see if other people might have missed their slots. I was seen almost immediately and as expected the cost was $129 for screen replacement but I was warned that if the screen replacement failed(they use a diagnostic machine and if your phone is not up to par after screen replacement it will be unusable) I might have to get a replacement phone for $299. I agreed to this. They said the screen replacement would take an hour so I walked around. I returned to find out that my screen replacement had failed and was given a phone as a replacement, but the manager said that since the other parts in my phone were still under the 1 year warranty the screen replacement shouldn't have failed if they were functioning properly so they gave me the new phone for $129 instead of $299. Although it seemed like she said that was what the reason was, I wasn't really listening and only heard her say something about the warranty so this is my best guess at what she said. It's possible that the screen replacement actually fails a lot( I was warned like 3 times in a row that it could fail and I would have to have it replaced if that happened) so the manager was doing damage control so there wouldn't be tons of people pissed at having to spend $170 more than expected. I forget who helped me [Sorry:-(]but I was really glad to not have to spend more than I initially expected and since I be out my charging cable with me, I got that replaced for free at the same time. I would say though that when downloading your data from iCloud when starting a new device you should probably go home and do it instead of doing it in the store. Like most Apple Stores this one is crowded no matter what time of the day you go. I went in to upgrade to an iPhone 4 and it was pleasant enough. I was approached pretty quickly and...here's the real beauty of Apple Stores ... you don't have to go anywhere. The staff has these little gizmos that do everything right there. The whole experience was nice. Got the phone, ported my phone number over, got a little tutorial and off I went. Annapolis Mall is a nice place anyway. read more

I explained I needed to buy 2 phone cases (1 for work and 1 to replace my current personal phone, along with a screen protector). While 5 other apple employees standing inside doing nothing but standing around the store and talking. As if it was such an inconvenience to sell a product I already had in mind. Coming from a family that has all Apple products including iPads, laptops and cell phones, it's very disappointing. I'll be giving my money else where and won't forget. It was a horrible management decision to NOT reschedule the people that didn't come during our mild snow storm ... instead they let them all show up whenever they wanted. I wrote a review of this Apple Store a while back ... and was more than satisfied with this Apple Store at that time. I bought a new Mac in March ​2017 because the coating on my screen was​ wearing out, it looked like it was dirty. I don't recall how long this has been happening to the screen but, obviously, it was not dirty. I took my Mac to Apple, they asked me a bunch of questions, saw it was nothing that did, I didn't spill anything on it that could have harmed the screen. They said okay, they would send out. Five days later I got it back and the screen is perfect ... brand new. So, I don't know about other Mac stores but this one has never failed me and has never cost me one penny for any problems they have resolved for me and, I might add, they are always pleasant and helpful at this store. read more

I asked how long it would take for the service and he told me it could be done while I wait, 20-30 minutes tops. That was far better than I expected so I told him to order the parts. I got notice last night that the parts are in so I brought the laptop in this morning only to be told that the turnaround time is 3-5 days. What the what?? This is my work computer - I can't hand it over for 3-5 days - and the reason I had them order the parts and do the work is that they said it would be done on the spot. If I knew there was any kind of wait beyond a few hours I would have held off and explored other options. The manager was apologetic but utterly unsympathetic. He said there's no way the battery can be replaced that quickly. I asked him how long it would take, thinking that maybe he'd tell me several hours. He repeated that it would be a 3-5 day turnaround (after I returned home I called other Mac repair shops and they told me it's maybe a 2-hour job), so clearly they have no interest in fixing a problem of their own creation. I just wasted a half day of work that I took to have this work done and I'm still left with a computer in need of repair. read more

I've never been greatly impressed with service at the Annapolis Apple Store. I don't recall ever being to any other Apple store. Most of the issues seem to be systemic, particularly given the level of technology in the scheduling and business operations processes. I dropped my phone and badly cracked the screen. I've replaced the screen myself on previous phones but my business is good and I thought having Apple do it would be easier. It wasn't. I had an appointment at 11.30. The store is full of employees whose job seems to be to send you to someone else. Although I was early I didn't get to see someone who would actually do something until well after 12.00. In the meantime I was subject to the noisy din, including some kind of kiddy field trip. A manager eventually came to apologize but had no idea when someone would help. "Soon" is not an answer. The time estimate was an hour and forty minutes. I gave them two hours. Another ten minute wait just to check in. After ten more minutes (all these were timed) I asked for a manager who took another five minutes to show up. Lots of apologies but no indication that anyone really cared or would really do anything. i called the store and asked for help setting up my iphone. i told them i have a disability...early alzheimer's. danielle, the rep i talked with would offer no solution to mhelp. she even said i cannot come in and go over it with a represetative. shame on you apple. read more

Long lines and lots going on. The employees are very friendly, efficient, and accommodating. My only major complaint is that the temperature in the store is ridiculous. I understand there are a lot of people, but it shouldn't feel like a major relief to walk OUT. They need to crank up the AC to compensate for the body heat. read more
