I've been coming to this restaurant for over 3 years. I love the servers and the food is great. The owner should take lessons on how to treat her customers. She only says hello to the people she knows. Strangers get nothing. On July 5, l went to pay my tab and she was at the register. One person in front of me, no one behind me. She took the person prior to me and when I went to the counter she walked away and started bussing tables!!! What shit is that? I was paying cash and only takes less than a minute. So I was left standing there, like wtf? I must of been standing there about a couple of minutes when a server came up and helped me. Well...this is not the first time she has been rude to me. I ordered the Apple Butter Grilled Cheese without the apple butter, since they provide jars of it at every table and I figured I could add it myself. The sandwich comes with Gouda cheese, bacon, and Granny Smith apple slices, such a delicious combination. I did try it with a little apple butter, but personally preferred it without. I had one of their Benedict choices... although not technically a Benedict, the "Cowboy Benedict" combines biscuits and sausage gravy with poached eggs (plus sausage patties). My wife had an omelette with Swiss and Spinach. The home fries are nicely cooked and not at all greasy. Everything was well prepared and flavorful. Oh, and the Apple Butter is fantastic on sourdough. The biscuits were fluffy, and the gravy was definitely "the gravy on top". You can select your protein, and I chose the Santa Fe sausage. The home fries, OMG, the crispiest. Mighty Fine Breakfast Apple Butter Café is comfortable and friendly. My server was very pleasant and attentive. Prices were fair. This was my second visit. I always judge my breakfast at any restaurant by ordering the same 5 items. My eggs were reasonably fluffy and had flavor. So many places serve eggs that are flat and bland. Here they had obviously been cooked with a decent amount of butter and salt. Surprisingly, the grits were very good. I've become jaded about finding good grits in Pinellas County. They're usually a sticky clump or soupy and with no flavor. These were very good. The large piece of ham was nicely seared on the grill and was very tasty. Same goes for their biscuit--cut in half and nicely seared. The French toast was a little weaker than the rest. It had nice flavor but was not fully cooked through, so it collapsed in the middle when cut--another common problem. They could do a better job on the exterior of the restaurant. The same dead plant has been in the pot near the door for months. The walkways and parking lot should be swept. Fortunately, the first impression of the exterior doesn't carry through to the interior. I'd happily return, trying more items on the menu. read more

I was excited to see That they have outside seating but as I got closer I realized that the space was unkept and looked like a last resort option. Tip: if you're going to have outdoor seating make it look inviting by keeping it tidy and welcoming. The country, gravy was one of the best I've had with the right combination of sausage and black pepper. You can have the fries either with caramelized onions or without. Threw me for a loop when I saw the new sign up and Tripp's was no more. So I swung in to see if anything changed. A lot was similar but different enough where it felt like a new restaurant. The rumor is an employee bought the place and revamped it, and I love that storyline if true. The thing you get right away is that they really nail the basics.
