I love this place. It's always a pleasure whether it's breakfast or lunch. I love both their tea is Amazing and Their coffee is good strong stuff I like it, and their food is off the chain. The corn beef is one of my favorites, but you should see the sandwiches that are like Work of art. It's insane that I had that skillet one day that was really good too, but I like it. This place is super cute and small, so make sure to get here early if you want to get a seat! They have a pretty standard breakfast menu, and everything is very tasty! I got the garden skillet, which is huge and loaded with potatoes, veggies, and cheese. The eggs on top were super fluffy and the potatoes are well seasoned and crispy. The biscuit is also very fluffy and delicious. Everybody working was super friendly and service was very quick. We came to Florida for a class reunion when one of our friends recommended that we try this spot for breakfast since we were all staying at the same hotel -- and we're so glad we did! We stopped in for a late breakfast/early lunch, and everything was wonderful. The service was exceptional and the staff were incredibly welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious, with many tempting menu items to choose from. It's a lovely, family-owned business with such a cozy and casual atmosphere. We even learned that Mr. D was born just two weeks after they opened the restaurant -- how special is that! The best thing about this place is the customer service. My waiter Nick made it a point to treat me the way I would like all servers to do, a little light chatter, frequent but not intrusive checking in ... he was very polite and spoke warmly to everyone who came in. Having said all that, I came because I saw a few interesting items on their menu. First, the shrimp and grits was topped with plenty of cheese and bacon! Second, I loved the gravy on the smothered omelet ... I thought I was the only one that put sausage gravy on their omelets, LOL. Last, the corn beef hash had a funny taste, almost like sauerkuat ... maybe it was the onions. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast, outside, with our pug, Bruno. The service was excellent, warm and friendly. I had the hamburger with an egg on it. The burger was huge and cooked perfectly, as well as the french fries. My husband had the half combo of biscuits and gravy with eggs and bacon. This quaint cafe is an awesome find. The little muffins you get with your coffee are so good. If you know you know! They have some of the best coffee for a small diner I've ever had. I've been there twice in the first experience was better however, the second one wasn't as good so I'm gonna take one star away because the waitress was not very friendly and you could tell she was displeased because I took extra time to order and it was very busy, but you know what if I'm putting out my harder cash I'll take my time and I can tell by your facial expressions in her comments. First time here with my daughter. We were greeted the second I opened the door. The server was so nice she brought us little delicious muffins and took our order right away. Mr D's Gets an A+ Mr D's has recently opened and is hidden in the corner of strip center with several vacancies. Fortunately, people seem to be finding their way to this excellent little diner. We were there for breakfast and tried a variety of items. The eggs were fluffy. The large serving of ham was seared nicely and delicious. Grits are often the Achilles heel of diners, but these had a nice consistency and lots of flavor. A waffle was good and the fried chicken with it was perfect. The only problem was of my own making. I don't like French toast that's soggy in the middle as this was. Apparently, I ordered the custard French toast. Next time I'll get the standard variety. Service is good and the diner is tidy. Prices are very reasonable. I hope more people find their way here, even if they must look a little hard to find it. read more

Lunch offerings tip the scale with fresh cut French Fries, that are well seasoned and fried exactly right. Their coffee is a local brew and has a flavor. Nick is usually the waiter but, don't let him fool you, he knows his way around that kitchen as well. Overall, this is a small locally owned restaurant. We were visiting the area last month and wanted to find a local place for breakfast rather than a chain. Googled and Mr. D's popped up with great reviews about a mile from our hotel. We were not disappointed!!! Small place, really homey, great service and the food was amazing. I had Patrick's Waffle sandwich with honey butter and syrup - it was amazing! I think hubby had a skillet. Whatever he had, he loved it. We chatted with the owner - you could tell she loved what she did. Wish we lived closer. Then again, maybe not. I really thought long and hard about writing this review and you can check to see that I usually write positive reviews. I've been to this restaurant 4 times. 3 out of the four times were great and that's why I hesitated. The more I thought about it the more I felt like I needed to express how disappointed I was today! Maybe today, was just an off day. I usually go here on Sunday mornings and it's very busy but the waitresses that have been working are great. my food has been great and I got fast service. Today it was busy but not as busy as on a Sunday. I waited for a while for my waiter to come to my table and then he brought me coffee and water. I placed my order which was a 1/2 of biscuits and gravy. It should be pretty quick even in a busy restaurant. 25 minutes later I still didn't have my food. Another couple got up and as they left, they told me that they never even got waited on and they were there before me . Anyway, I got the waiters attention and asked him to please cancel my food and I will just pay for my coffee. To my shock and the people sitting next to me, the waiter proceeds to talk loudly and tell me that they're busy and they have a lot of DoorDash orders. He tried to argue with me about it but Instead of saying he was sorry, he rudely yelled across the restaurant to cancel the biscuit and gravy order. I was embarrassed! He gave me my bill for my coffee which was $3.52 and I paid it but he never said thank you, he never made eye contact with me at the register, I understand being busy, but I don't understand being rude to a customer who just had a bad experience. That's not good no matter how good the food is. I won't be going back and I won't be recommending this place to anyone. read more
