Been a while since we were here so had to drop an updated review. Really good lunch. Sitting outside was nice and the fans helped keep the heat at bay. We started with the cheeseburger soup and it was delicious--creamy without being too chunky, and the little pieces of pickle gave it a nice bite. I went with Guppy's Burger and it was excellent. Big, juicy burger with blue cheese, bacon and bacon jam. Lots of flavor and definitely something I would order again. Deb had the tuna sashimi, which was also really good with just a little spicy kick. I had the Green Wing Oregon Pinot Noir and really liked it. Fruity, not too dry, and went great with the burger. Deb had an espresso martini that she really enjoyed. Taylor was our server and was great--very friendly and gave us some good suggestions. Good food, good drinks and really good service. Very disappointing experience at Guppy's. I came in alone and the very young host at the front wanted to seat me on a high bar-style chair. I explained that I was uncomfortable sitting there and politely asked for a regular, lower table. He simply told me that, unfortunately, he could not accommodate my request. What made this especially frustrating was that there appeared to be plenty of available seating around the restaurant. I was given no reasonable explanation as to why I could not sit at one of those tables. I was dining alone, and I also speak with an accent. I cannot know whether either of those things influenced how I was treated, but the interaction certainly made me feel unwelcome and as though I was not considered worth accommodating as a customer. I chose not to stay. A restaurant can have great food, but hospitality begins the moment a customer walks through the door. Unfortunately, my experience at Guppy's ended before I even had the opportunity to order. read more

Guppys might be my favorite restaurant of all time. I have never had a bad meal here and the staff is always amazing. It has a small beach, seafood restaurant vibe that I love. The Blue Crab Guacamole is my go to starter. Its light fresh and delicious. I love so many of their Entrees and tonight I got one of my absolute favorites the shrimp saute. No matter which entree I get I can not leave without the lobster mac n cheese. If the tiramisu is on the menu it is a must for dessert. We had an excellent dinner at Guppy's on Indian Rocks Beach! We arrived around 6:30 p.m. and were pleasantly surprised there was no wait. We chose to sit outside, and even with the Florida summer heat, the overhead fans kept the patio comfortable, making for a beautiful evening. Service was fast, friendly, and attentive throughout our meal. We loved the complimentary warm bread served with seasoned olive oil--it was a huge hit with the kids before our food even arrived. We started with the calamari, which was perfectly crisp on the outside, tender on the inside, and served with two delicious dipping sauces. It disappeared quickly! For our entrées, the coconut shrimp was outstanding. The shrimp were large, coated in a crunchy toasted coconut breading, and paired perfectly with the orange blossom honey marmalade. The creamy garlic mashed potatoes, grilled asparagus, and roasted tomatoes rounded out a delicious plate. We also ordered the crab cakes, which were packed with lump crab meat, perfectly seared, and complemented by the Creole mustard aioli. Our kids were just as impressed! The kids' fish and chips meal came with a surprisingly generous portion of flaky fish, crispy fries, and fresh fruit, making it an excellent value. Our other child ordered the adult cheeseburger entrée and couldn't stop talking about how amazing it was. It was thick, juicy, perfectly cooked, topped with melted cheddar, and served on a soft bun with crisp lettuce and tomato. Every dish was beautifully presented, fresh, and full of flavor. Combined with the relaxing outdoor atmosphere and exceptional service, Guppy's delivered a fantastic dining experience. It's a lovely charming restaurant with a variety of seating options. We sat on the patio which absolutely wonderful. Our server, Kim, was friendly and attentive. There are lots of seafood choices, and a few dishes for land lubbers. I had the fish chips, which was the best I've ever had, and I've been to London. Flaky, crispy, not greasy at all. The coleslaw looks like they shredded it themselves. He enjoyed his blue crab dip. Really good!! read more

We made a reservation on 5/16/26 for outdoor seating but it was far too hot so we moved inside. The food was good. Not mind-blowing but decent. We ordered the grilled oysters and those were delicious. A couple little loaves of bread and olive oil with tasty herbs were brought with our appetizer and it was really wonderful and fresh. Both of us ordered a cup of the lobster bisque, but I didn't care for it as it tasted more like artificial crab than it did lobster. I sent it back and got the mixed salad. I ordered the swordfish entree and it was really wonderful. After dinner, hubby and I split a slice of key lime pie which was really good but not great. Service was awkward as our server was a little inattentive and it delayed our evening longer. So overall the food was really good (bad lobster bisque) but service was lacking. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal here and Jessy provided great service. The fellows decided to split several small plates and were happy with all of it. Lost Tuna was a true favorite!! I wanted more of a meal but on the smaller side. I opted for a crab cake and chose two sides. The meal was absolutely delicious and had the best crab cake I've had in a long time. Not that they need another glowing review, but I'll leave one nonetheless. I was hoping to get Shrimp n Grits but server said they didn't have that item. So I went with the Pork Chop and it was excellent. That's coming from someone that doesn't usually like pork chops. But this was so moist and not like those that are overdone. We also really enjoyed the Lobster Bisque and Mushroom Bisque even though it wasn't soup weather at all. Definitely make reservations no matter what day of the week. On the Fourth of July, we had a wonderful lunch at Guppy's on the Beach, a true local gem in Belleair Beach. The restaurant is well‑known among residents for its fresh seafood, and it absolutely lived up to the reputation. We've been here many times. More recently in the last year as we moved super close! Guppy's is such a great vibe for beach dining. The food is amazing. Everything on the menu is great. Our go to's are usually oysters, lobstercargot, burrata, steak & lobster, and the pork chop (it's a delicious choice for those not wanting seafood or steak) My husband likes his steak Pittsburgh rare and he's very picky. His steak is always perfectly made. I love stone crabs and had to try them this time. We love Guppy's for a celebration dinner. We celebrated my parents 30th here and our daughter chose Guppy's for her bday dinner this year. The service is always delightful and they actually remember you when you come back! Fairly priced items that leave you satisfied-- a standout for me was the unique fish chowder which was rich with flavor and surprisingly came with hot pepper sherry and rum which really worked in balancing out the richness. My partner ordered a short rib sandwich that was great-- good bread by Florida standards and with tender meat. Our server was incredibly attentive and good-natured. We ate at Guppy's on a Saturday night and it was packed! Highly suggest making a reservation because we got sat immediately which was great. We chose inside because of the heat, but there was actually plenty of fans outside to help keep it cool. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and gave us good recommendations. We got one seafood and one chicken dish with a Caesar salad. The chicken and salad needed more sauce/dressing, and the asparagus was a bit bland. The seafood bowl was a treat! There was everything you could want with a great flavorful broth and good value for the money with a lobster tail. Though our waiter seemed less than interested in the menu and in helping us figure out what is best. I ordered the Paloma cocktail, which was actually quite flavorless, surprisingly. Wouldn't get that again. We ordered the fish spread, which was good. I haven't had it before. It was especially good with the toppings--jalapeno rings, capers and red onions. I also ordered the fish and chips, which I normally don't do unless it's worth it. This one was intriguing with sea bass. It was a large piece of fish, flatter than I expected for sea bass. The batter was crispy and delicious and the fish was light and flaky. The fries were average. I read a lot of good reviews for this place, but it wasn't above average in my opinion, compared with many others like it. read more

I'm so glad we turned around to eat at Guppy's. It was very easy to park, with parking on both sides and the rear of the restaurant. The weather was perfect to enjoy a meal outside and the food was fabulous. We had the Parmesan crusted grouper, with lobster risotto and beans with corn and a wagyu beef burger with mushrooms, Swiss cheese, bacon and sweet Vidalia onion jam. The jam on the burger was a game changer. It added the perfect layer of additional flavor. Rebecca was one of the best waitresses we have had in a long time. She kept our drinks filled and returned with any requests we had quickly. She was very attentive to her customers. The inside of the restaurant was unique with several smaller dining areas and a big bar. The restrooms were interesting with each being its own individual stall and very clean. One drink got sent back, did not taste good! Miranda was our waitress and on her behalf, it was alittle overwhelming for her. One pork chop dinner was very dry. My girlfriends and I enjoyed a great dinner at Guppy's during a bachelorette weekend in Indian Shores, FL. We loved sitting on the patio and watching the sun set as we dined; highly recommend outdoor seating! We had two rounds of drinks (including dirty martinis, cosmos, a spicy marg, and red wine), a half dozen oysters, 3 entrees, and a slice of key lime pie. Every dish was fresh, tasty, and beautifully presented! Beef options were perfectly cooked to our liking. Special mention to the crispy cheese chips included with the entrees (yum!). Our server, Kim, was the best part of our experience! She was helpful, attentive, kind, and charismatic. She took care of us from start to finish, including swapping out a broken glass and chasing after us when we almost left our take-out key lime pie on the table! She also packed up the pie with whipped cream and lime on the side since she knew we were too full to dig in until later. We LOVEEEE Kim! I recommend ordering cocktails off the menu, as the dirty martini (i.e., off-menu) was not quite what we expected (very vermouth-forward, light on olive brine). Went 3PM on a cold Friday in March and had no trouble getting a table. I wonder what would have happened if it were a beach day. MUST remember to order the Artisan Salad which comes with the most delicious dressing that contains Meyer Lemon. I was able to sub this salad for the usual sides that come with the black bean burger. Learned that the cinnamon brown sugar ice cream is fantastic. So, won't be sharing that with my husband any more. And it's a large scoop. It was about an hour wait, but well worth it. We met Kim a very friendly waitress, who knew exactly what to suggest. Due to her recommendations I ordered a bisque that had ginger, carrot, crabmeat and with seeds, maybe sunflower. It was delicious. We had the grouper ceviche, amazing. Then for our main course my husband ordered shrimp, andouille with grits. I ordered sea scallops in a Kona with vanilla bean sauce, incredible. Great, casual place after a long day on the beach! The service was good and our all of our food came out quickly. They started us off with fresh bread and olive oil for the table. I ordered the potato crusted salmon with risotto. It was very unique and extremely tasty!!! My friend got the seafood pasta and it was perfection.
