I own a Macbook Pro and have had to take it to this store 5 separate times for a variety of problems. After the final time it was running slow and not opening most applications. I was told my computer was "damaged" and would not be covered by the warranty. The repair would be $750 to fix a three year old computer. I tried talking to the store manager and she could not have been less helpful. She refused to help me at all with this problematic computer and got defensive when I said the computer was defective. She gave me vague details about why such a simple problem needed such a drastic repair. I took the unrepaired computer and after some research on-line, fixed it with some clean up software. It didn't cost me a dime and this store's technicians and/or manager tried to scam me with an outrageous and unnecessary repair. I have nothing against Apple, but this store tried to rip me off. Very poor customer service and borderline unethical business practices. Do your self a favor and shop at another Apple store. read more

They were super helpful, I made an appointment and they were running a bit behind. I had to wait around for awhile but they assisted me as best they could. I'll defiantly end up back here at some point, wait times are usually shorter than the braintree location. read more

Came in because my phone wasn't able to connect to the mobile data guy was able to fix the problem in a jiffy, it took them a little while after my appointment to see me but it was well worth it and rich was a really cool guy! Good experience for the first time. He even offered to replace the device if he couldn't fix it. I will be coming to this location for all my Apple needs! read more

I traveled a bit of a distance to go to this apple store. I felt burned at the one closer to me. I walked in and this one had a better vibe then the other store. They listened to me and tried to explain to me why the sim cards are changed out. and why it didn't work. I told him my horrid story about my replacement phone and how my sim card was not working in my replacement phone. I just wanted a new replacement and a new sim. I left my old sim home to assure a new sim. He took my phone. phone number, name on the account. the only thing I found redundant is that after taking that info, is that another employee came over and asked for this exact info. But they did what I asked. I got a new phone with a new sim. He called my phone carrier and had the phone turned on and then came over and got the phone to update and turn on. then since I had everything backed up on the cloud started the download of all my info onto the phone. I was finally able to use my phone. I found that the vibe in this store was much better then the vibe in the braintree store. They even have a place for you to sit and wait. When I walked into the store I was not sure I ever wanted to get another iPhone. I walked out thinking if I do get another iPhone that it will be this store that I will be dealing with. My daughter wants to get a new mac computer. I will bring her to this store. Braintree can go sink in the mud. Hingham is much better to deal with. read more

Great store but it needs some check out registers. You are supposed to find a genius on the floor but they are all busy. I had to wait for 20 minutes just to purchase a case for my computer. Frustrating! Some of us know what we want and don't need help. read more

I called the Derby Street Apple store to schedule service for an IPhone. I was on hold for fifteen minutes with music so loud, it was very uncomfortable to keep the phone to my ear. I finally hung up figuring They forgot about me. I called back and once again I was subjected to the extremely loud music while on hold; I waited twenty minutes this time and finally hung up again. Called back a third time and requested to speake with manager, once again I was on hold. Approximately twelve minutes later a man picked up and identified himself as the manager. I explained to him the serious problem with the wait time and lack of customer service. He stated that when you call any Apple store you go to a call center and the wait could be as long as forty five minutes to speake to a person, and up to an hour if you want to speake with a manager. I already made up my mind that I wasn't going to give them my business, but I wanted to expressed my disappointment with their service. His reply was, " You're not the only one calling". Nice! Fantastic service!!! I couldn't get a soon enough reservation online for the genius bar, so I called and they suggested I walk in! Once I put my name in for a walk in, they did tell me it could be anywhere up until an hour but they took me 15 minutes later and I experienced spectacular service and professionals. Within 3 days, the computer my computer was fixed, apple care covered it all and it was back to my door step. The Apple Store at Derby Streets was a huge help and great at communicating the process and diagnosing the problem, I trusted them through everything. I'd like to echo a lot of the negative comments here. I always dread going into this store as I'm practically guaranteed a miserable experience. Some of the employees are pretty nice but more than a few are unbelievably rude. I actually had one of their geniuses tell me that "this conversation is over" when asking questions about what had been done to service my Macbook Pro. Arrogance abounds at this store and I try to avoid if I can. When I do have to go there I'm usually feeling pretty angry and frustrated for the next few days. Really doesn't seem to matter what the issue is. read more

I was fifteen minutes early for my appointment. They said they were running late, so get there at my scheduled time. If they were running behind, should I come back later than my time? No, because if I'm late they'll cancel the appointment. So you know your running behind, and I need to stand there for the half hour your behind? Basically. Then the patronizing kid says, "If I could have less people in front of you I would." That really wasn't the point. For all of Apple's technology there is not a better flow for the store? Beepers or something? It felt like the Seinfeld rental car episode - "You know how to take the reservation, but not hold the reservation - which is really the most important part of the reservation." read more

This place is the pits. I took in my MacBook Pro because of a display glitch. Turns out it was the case interfering with the hinge. There was nothing wrong with the computer at all. Then I made the big mistake of letting them check the cable to be sure it was seated correctly. Aaaaaaand my computer no longer functions. So, three trips later, a bunch of lies about what they did and didn't so, and they've now completely wiped my hard drive and reinstalled the OS. I've missed an entire day of work. You. Guys. So I called apple before I went to this location and when you call you don't get connected to the particular stores staff you get connected to a call center that will answer your questions and this is the same for if you call any apple store.So I asked when this location would have the second generation AirPods and they said this store had got them today.There are two versions of the second generation AirPods one comes with wireless charging the other does not but the AirPods in either are the same updated ones. This is what I was told by 3 separate apple workers I called. So when I went in I was going to get the non wireless pair of second gen AirPods which are the same price as the original.The apple worker on the phone told me this location carries all three as of today.When I went in I went to one of the staff on the floor and asked about the new non wireless AirPods and she had no idea what I was talking about and told me they didn't have them.then another worker butted in and said they did so I was relieved when they brought them out they were the wireless ones and I told them I wanted the new ones that are not wireless they didn't even know those existed and claimed they didn't have them.they only had the more expensive wireless ones. So either they were just trying to make me pay more or had no clue about their own products either way not hood service. read more

I always dread going to the Apple Store because I usually come away dissatisfied with the information I have received. The techs, though polite, seem to want to give you one piece of advice or one thing to try and send you on your way. Yesterday was no exception. The advice I was given did not solve my problem once I got home. So today I called the tech support number. The advisor did a diagnostic online and told me my iPad battery was near the end of its life and needed replacing. She also suggested I empty my Safari cache and update my software. Why couldn't the tech at the store tell me these things. My advice: call the tech support number before making a trip to the store. read more

I had the same experience as Mike B. when picking up the iPad2. I got the highest memory (and 3G) and when it came time for the set up, was told that I could also "do this at home" if I wanted. ?? Are they serious? Not to mention that half way through the set up, the person assisting me was given another customer to help. So odd, considering the sea of blue shirts in the store. read more

The Apple Store at Derby Shoppes in Hingham has been closed for a month or more. There is a sign about improvement. However, there is no information on when/if it will reopen. Most retail makeovers are done in a few days, to not lose the customer base. I can't believe that it takes months to do whatever you are doing; and it arrogant to assume that we'll be patiently waiting for when you are ready to reopen (IF YOU ARE GOING TO REOPEN). C'mon Apple, as one of countless regular customers of this Apple Store, give us a clue of what you are doing or when you will open. Aren't we important to you? read more

Your experience at the Apple Store in Hingham all depends on who you get to interact with. I have had great knowledgeable sales people and tech people and a very rude tech and also salespeople who haven't got a clue about the products. I have had apple products and computers since 1990 and have seen a lot. I have been around apple since before most of the sales people in the store were born. As an older woman I have been treated like a child and condescended to. If I know right away I cannot deal with the person I first encounter, I ask for another person in a firm but polite manner. That usually causes surprise with the person but they have to turn me over to someone else who, hopefully is a better fit. Gook luck. read more

So do you review the products, the staff or the experience? Listen Apple is on to something that no other phone/computer retailer is capable of. So was Verizon service (coverage) better than my AT&T yes but that's not what this store is about. Sure wish I could choose my provider though. The 4 stars is for the way the manage people (customers) at the store. I have never been to an Apple store when it wasn't jammed. Never. The system seems to work by making an appointment . We waited 15 minutes as they were backed up.....much like my doctor or dentist. But getting to play with the latest and greatest is fun. Drove up from the Cape no bathrooms....that hurt. But back to the "process" of moving people and answering questions.. excellent. Accessories are expensive! Beyond big markup. I just sort of have the feeling that now that we have bought our 4 i Phone there would be a little more appreciation but...........they have an addictive product. Definitely make an appointment before showing up. read more

I've been here three times in the last month with the intent to buy something (headphones, an iPod, and today a iMac). In all three cases, I had to wait at least 20 minutes to speak with a salesperson, so I walked out empty handed. I've never seen a retail experience deteriorate so greatly, so quickly. When Best Buy offers a better retail experience, Apple is in trouble. read more

The service here varies on the day. I have had great service and horrible service. Had my MBP repaired here. They were able to fix it, but they did not call me for authorization to wipe and restore back to original setting, which they said they would do. I have waited here a few hours, being skipped over because I did not check in twice for an appointment (never have done this here or at any Apple Store before). They did not inform me that I needed to check in on arrival and then again about ten minutes out from appointment. I was able to get my iPhone 4S fixed in under 30 minutes after getting service. Staff is nice, knowledge levels vary on each individual. read more

My experience at this Apple store has been great. They go above the call of service. I came in with the intention of buying a new laptop, but without much of a clue as to what I needed. Carrick spent well over an hour with me in total, explaining the attributes of each laptop an quizzing me on my usage. After I chose my Macbook Air, he set up my mail and time machine for me. I couldn't have asked for a more fluid experience. read more

I brought in my MacBook for problems I was having with loading photos - I had not properly set up my external hard drive, and I was running on Tiger... I know, I know... but seriously, these guys were amazing. I got all the help I needed, and some I didn't even know I needed. They earned their moniker of "Genius Bar". Zach Thomas was my personal genius, though his card just says Specialist. I did have to leave my computer in overnight, but honestly, I felt like I picked up a new one the next day. It was running better, faster, and even looked better, all thanks to upgrades and a facelift. It was like a spa day for the MacBook - and we're both happier for the visit. read more

I had a problem with my iPhone. It was not tuning on or did not appear to be charging. I called the store and spoke to an associate wondering if I should bring it in for service or if someone could help me over the phone. He talked me through a "hard re-set" and the phone came on with no problems. It saved me a trip, the expense and he was very helpful. read more

Went in to buy a new charger for my laptop since mine was broken. They checked to see if my laptop was still under warranty. When they saw it wasn't they noticed I had purchased my laptop at their location as well as other product. As a result, they gave me the new charge for FREE!!! Its an $80 charger!! I was in shock! The genius person time with my appointment. The gentleman plugged my computer and as it didn"t turn on and I explained that there was water damage,I was basically told that because my computer was old(2009) It was trash. He never took the back off to assess the damage and quoted me a price of 1245.00 to send it out with no guarantees.So I took it home and my husband took the back off,cleaned it gently with a dry toothbrush.TaDA!They just want you to purchase a new computer. I guess I don't want to work there after all! read more

Nothing less than AWESOME. I have had an iPhone for a little over one year now. I have had minimal issues with my phone; however, every single time that I have had an issue -- it has been rectified quickly and painlessly at this Apple Store location. The staff is so friendly, knowledgeable, passionate, happy, efficient, outgoing, considerate, etc... I have never once had a bad experience there. People need to understand that Apple is clearly one of the most, if not the most popular technological producer in the world. Their products are in high demand, and they appeal to individuals of every age group, and of every walk of life. I don't understand when people get so angry at the fact that they have to wait for service LIKE EVERYONE ELSE DOES in order to get an item fixed or checked out or purchased or anything. I haven't been to many other Apple stores, however, I can tell you that right when you walk in the door at this location -- an Apple employee is right there to greet you with a smile and to put you on the wait list -- which can undoubtedly be a long one (once again, popularity creates this issue). There is so much to interact with in the store, that I really can't begin to understand how someone could be so miserable while waiting. Also, even if you are sick of hanging out in the store, just leave and come back; there are literally like 30 other stores at the Derby Street Plaza. I think this store is well staffed with knowledgeable employees who are most definitely more than happy to help you with whatever you may need. I love this store so much, and I love Apple products so much that I bought a MacBook Air yesterday since my crappy-crap HP Pavilion crapped out on me. Needless to say, I haven't put my "Mac" down since. If you need any assistance with any Apple product, and you are in this area, I would absolutely check this location out. I own 3 iPads 4 iPhones am a business customer, you'd think May be the might try and help, especially since they dumped the email 3 weeks ago and I didn't realize it was missing from my iPad ! We are seniors and visited the Apple Store this past week. We were greeted as we entered and shown to the display of the item we were interested in. Within a few minutes Jen approached up and answered a few questions we had about the new Ipad on display. She then introduced us to G but stayed on and was interested in answering the questions we had asked. I was very pleased with the service and we already knew we'd like the new Ipad. Jen left the conversation and then G mentioned Jen was the General Manager. I have to say, she's good at what she does, she saw we would have to wait a few minutes for the next sales person, so stepped in to answer questions while we waited. G helped us with the sale and then went on to completely set the Ipad up. G and Jen were both professional and so helpful, we didn't feel rushed as we asked some simple questions most younger people wouldn't have had to. We love the new Ipad and will return to the Hingham store for some of the classes they offer. Great job Jen, your store is running as smooth as I could have imagined. Kate and Tony read more

i have to say i was very surprised by the service i received at this store... i was speaking with a nice sales person, he was tring to help me with ordering a phone. he had to have his manager come over.. i was surprised by how uncaring she seemed, and then she actually walked away from me as she was giving me her answer... no eye contact.. no chance to ask her anything? even the sales person seemed a bit miffed... she was quite rude, not what i expected from a company the instills such strong 'brand' guidelines. read more

My iphone 6 is locked in headphone mode. I have never used the headphones. I was 10 minutes early for my appointment, as I did not want to get cancelled out. It was another 25 minutes until I was seen. The issue with my phone was determined to be a hardware problem and the cost for a replacement phone is $299. I am supposed to be excited about that "discounted rate". My original phone was replaced while still in warranty in September 2015. I was not aware that the warranty on the new phone was only good for 90 days or until my original warranty expired in December 2015. The tech said "Apple should do a better job of explaining that." No kidding! I seldom use the phone. It sits on my desk at work or in my pocketbook. The tech also said "technology doesn't always work as it should"... Of course! If it did he would be out of a job. Seriously. And he wondered why I didn't spend $300 on another iphone - with only a 90 day warranty. Apple is totally overrated. But, despite the fact that they don't back their product, I cannot blame the tech. read more
