I signed my daughter up for drivers training with Apple Driving School several weeks ago. My wife and I decided that we would allow her to take a drivers course later in the summer and made a request to Apple Driving School to cancel her reservation. Almost 3 weeks later we are still waiting to receive our refund from Apple Driving, to date all we are getting is excuses stating because we paid by credit card it could take up to a month to receive our refund. As a business owner you should be concerned about good customer service and apparently Apply Driving School could care less. You should beware in choosing this company for drivers training!!!! I thought we were dealing with a reputable company. If this persist they will be on the hall of Shame. Like Kelly G I had to give them 1 star there is no option for 0 stars!!! read more

My wife used there service twice. The first time was with the instructor named Jim, he did a good job of taking her around and making sure she understood everything. The second time was a instructor named either Roy or Ron, he was horrible. My wife had specifically asked for a parking only lesson. He took her on the road to a driving school, instead of actually getting her to practice parking he had her sit and watch others park. He only let her practice once and then after that he yelled at her and told her to watch for a longer time. He also spent a lot of time talking to the other instructors. My wife also mentioned that he kept saying that she was not listen to him, and talking alot about his ex wife or wife he had just separated it, in my opinion its completely unprofessional to talk about your personal life with a customer When I called into apple to talk to them about this, they said they couldn't do anything. I even told them I would take another lesson, and to just throw in an extra half hour of just parking, it would have been a simple solution to the problem. Instead they refused to work with us and insisted that my wife didn't know what she was doing and that we should go somewhere else. So it was my junior year, I wanted to get my segment 1 over with, and I choose Apple. I paid $308 dollars for the whole lesson and stuff. I came down to the part where the written test was due. I failed the first time. Then I came back the second time to take the test with it read to me. I failed. I wait about a month or two. And I call again for my last time to take my test, they wouldn't let me! I was like arguing with the apple owner, but he was just laughing over the phone, thinking I'm stupid. I then realized how the waste of time it was, I never understood anything because our teacher wasn't controlling the class, but was kind. If I were to recommend a driving school, I would recommend go somewhere else, and ignore this poor service and rude staff at Apple. read more

Do NOT under any circumstances, use this company for your child's driving education. They are totally unethical, uncaring and downright creepy. My husband became stuck in traffic and delivered my daughter to her class at the exact time it began, and so, she was one minute late walking in. They made her stay but also forced her to take a makeup class and pay a $25 fee for being one minute late. The next day, my husband delivered my daughter to school for her driving session. the instructor showed up 20 minutes late and cancelled the class, saying my daughter would have to reschedule. My husband made numerous attempts to reason with the owner/instructors regarding these incidents. They were completely rude and refused to budge. The state of Michigan should not even be approving this school as suitable. read more

My son only took segment 1 with this company. I believe it was a 3 or 4 week summer program, last year. I prepaid for segment 2, but, after such a terrible experience, I was happy to pay extra for a different driving school to complete segment 2. I registered him at the Bloomfield Hills location. The parents are treated very disrepectfully, especially when attempting to schedule lessons. They lock the building when class starts, I was waiting in the lobby for help with my car. A student came to the locked door, it could not have been more than 8 minutes after the door was locked-and I let her in. The instructor came upstairs and ranted that I was not supposed to be there. I later learned that the student i had let in, had been asked to leave the class session and reschedule for the next session. The parents are actively discouraged from participating in scheduling-they prefer the student to interact with their driving teacher. The instructor we had, Mr. C, often overscheduled/mischeduled and it was a headache rescheduling driving appointments. He scheduled an appointment on Friday, July 3rd-a holiday weekend-only when i called to confirm, did i learn that he had cancelled the lesson-annoying because we had planned around that lesson. Looking at my calendar, I see 4 cancelled appointments. They also like to schedule the same students together, which is another nightmare in itself, if you are trying to complete all the lessons in the 3-week period with Mr. C and kids with camp and summer commitments. They make you pay for additional drive time, if it is not scheduled within the 3-week period. I do not recommend this company at all. I really think I am being generous with a one star rating. The company boasts a 98% pass rate while only 2 people in a class of 11 passed. What is most alarming is that when a child fails they charge additional fees to retest or do the entire course again. I tend to think if only 2 people out of a class of 11 passed, maybe the students are not the problem so much as the instructor. The school also would not allow parents to review the test with the instructor to determine the area the students were having problems. Overall, I don't trust this school and would not recommend them. read more

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. The instructor was rude and uncaring. The instructors will cancel lessons for petty personal reasons, yet demand that students not be a single minute late. I think responsibility should cut BOTH ways. The instructors decide if your child passes or fails so you need an ethical and professional instructor whom you can trust. GO ELSEWHERE! People get locked in to the convenience of lessons at their child's school, but there are often other driving schools who work within the same HS. The price of Segment one is expensive. Don't get stuck paying over $300 to this company and be subject to their nonsense. read more

My son and I arrived 4 min late to the 2d day of class because I was delayed coming home from work in torrential downpour and resulting traffic jams. The instructor had LOCKED the doors into the building and our group of parents and students were prohibited from entering. When we called the office to get the instructor to open the doors we were told pur the contract the instructor would not open the doors and we would have to pay 25.00 for a make up session!! There were 4 parents and kids standing there in the pouring rain!! Called next day and was treated so rudely by the office manager. I am going to contact my school and district and tell them to discontinue any recommendation or affiliation. People warned me about this group and I should have listened. read more

Apple Driving School is the worst! They have horrible customer service and you are unable to talk to management in person, as they are probably running this business out of a house. Ashley who is the Office manager is so unprofessional, and Mr. Parker the driving instructor probably needs to retire! This is the absolute worst driving school. I didn't listen to the previous reviews and got burned. The go through the children for everything and on top of that try to take money from them and then fail them. They will charge a additional ($300) the price of the class just for 6 additional hours on BTW driving. Paid $400 and they failed my child, made a mistake on written test, told my son he passed then called him at home and said it was a mistake, he failed. Didn't show up for scheduled BTW driving but want to charge $25 if you reschedule and are late. Unprofessional and they could care less about your child, money hungry. read more

Worst business experience I have ever had. Instructor kicked my child out of class on final night for arriving 4 minutes late. Worst experience ever! Employee's are rude!!! They had coupons on their website that I sent in with my check. They then told my son he owed $10 because the coupon was expired and they didn't know how to take the coupons off the website. They also kicked my son out of class for being 5 minutes late. My advice is find somewhere else. I chose this one because the price was average and it was near my house. Figured that would make it more convenient, but sadly no. On the first day, the teacher got there 30 minutes early and went to the wrong room. Much confusion before it got settled. Then, the second week, a snow day caused the school to be unavailable so they called the students asking them to show up an hour later, 5 miles away. On a day the roads were so bad schools was closed!! None of the kids could get there so instead of rescheduling the class, they insisted the kids wait until the next session (a month later) and attend that day as a makeup. Needless to say, this delays the completion of the class causing a 1 month delay in getting their permit to drive. Nice. Then I find out that during 2 of the classes, they were done with the instruction, but the teacher made them stay the full 2 hours, doing nothing, so they could "complete" the required number of hours of instruction. Sounds like cheating to me. But probably the worst thing was the drive times. The kids get signed up in pairs to drive at certain times. The kid my kid was paired with kept coming late or not showing up so the teacher would leave, and call back to reschedule. this is AFTER I have dropped mine off. So now I have to go back up and pick him up! I called the teacher to complain about why we were being penalized for someone else not showing up and he just said, that's how it must be done, both kids have to be there. So I requested to not be paired with that same no-show kid, but he continued to pair us with her. Every single one of the 6 drives were either cancelled or rescheduled. Talk about time consuming and frustrating. I would never recommend this school. read more

My son had a similar expereience with this (ill begotten profit) company..On 6-15-2013 I sent them a check for 50.00 for 2 (supposed) missing driving turns which was sent under duress..I had attempted to reason with the instructo who at my request showed me his driver schedule..This SCHEDULE was nothing more than a great deal scriibling with crossed out names , changed times, etc. A third grader would have been more organized.. Any way back to the flim flam company- they cashed my 6/15 check on 7/01 and here it is 7/15 BUT guess what (RIGHT) no driving permit has been received.. Obviously my son is extremely disappointed and cannot imagine that there are businesses existing that are allowed to operate with total disdain for the consumer.. The company should be reconsidered by the Birmingham Public School system as well as the licensing bureau of the state of Michigan................... read more
