Brought the car in for check engine light. They were going to install a new alternator in my vehicle and advised that they would let me know if I needed a new tensioner once they inspected it. After inspection they said a new tensioner was needed and it would be 3 hours labor for a total of $576. I called 2 other places (including a dealer) and they both said if you are replacing the alternator there really was no additional labor to replace the tensioner pulley as it only has 2 bolts. I actually called Macs back and discussed this with them and they wouldn't budge off their price. Long story short I took it to another shop (pretty big outfit) and saved $475 (This was the Troy Location)

Update: This business has been found liable in court for over two thousand dollars of damage that…read morethey did to my vehicle. Since found liable, they have refused to pay the awarded amount and have ignored any correspondence from me to collect. Highly dishonest, negligent, and no accountability. They caused over $2,000 dollars of damage while doing a bearing replacement and denied responsibility. I am not even that mad at the damage. But the unprofessionalism and complete lack of accountability is unacceptable.
