After seeing this bakery all over my TikTok feed, I finally made it out for the first time this past September. I took a slight detour on the way to work one morning to finally try all of their goodies. Apple Harvest is a newer bakery and catering service out of North Versailles. They serve a variety of donuts, baked goods, pastries, breads, soups, made-to-order breakfast and lunch items, and more. They are located on an unsuspecting street, with mostly industrial businesses around them. It is a few blocks off of Route 30/Lincoln Highway, and it relatively easy to get to. The building has nice decoration and signage out front, so it is easy to locate for a first-timer. As for the interior, it is a smaller space, with a few chairs inside for those waiting on their order. There is no real dine-in option here, as there are no tables inside or outside. There are dedicated parking spaces in front of the building. Additionally, there is some asphalt on the other side of the street for overflow parking. Overall, not a ton of places to park here, but I do not think it should be an issue for anyone coming to visit. I arrived to the bakery around 8:20 AM on a Thursday in September, and it was not too busy. There were a few other customers that came through while I was inside, but I did not have to wait in any line or for very long to be taken care of. The reason I wanted to come here was because of the delicious-looking donuts that I saw online. They are square in shape, absolutely gigantic, and are decorated very well in accordance to their flavor profile. Definitely an Instagram-worthy treat. In addition, they also offer other pies, breads, baked goods, soups, and drinks. They even have a food menu for breakfast and lunch items. I took a few minutes to look around at both the donut selection, as well as the other menu items available that day. The donuts available are displayed in a case that you can see to your left when entering the establishment. It was so hard to choose which ones I would get, because they truthfully all looked so good. The employee who was working the front was very kind and helpful in answering my questions, as well as fulfilling my order. I ended up ordering a half-dozen of donuts with the Maple Glazed Cinnamon Twist, Mocha Chocolate Cream, Burnt Almond Torte, Pumpkin Cream with Pumpkin Frosting, Strawberry Crunch, and Coconut Crunch. I also got an Apple Fritter as well. For my breakfast, I chose a Sausage, Egg and Cheese on a Homemade English Muffin. There was also the option to get this sandwich on a glazed donut. I did not get that on this trip, but will have to come back and try it sometime! The sandwiches are made-to-order, so I waited about 5 or so minutes for it to be prepared. As for the donuts, the employees will pack them in the box for you to take home. Since I was on my way to work, I took everything with me to-go. I thought the sandwich was really good! I always appreciate homemade breads, especially English Muffins. It was cooked well, very cheesy, and overall a great and hearty start to the day. I also like how these are somewhat customizable, as sometimes breakfast sandwiches are fixed menu items that cannot be changed in any way. Usually, I am not a huge sweets for breakfast person, so I saved my donuts to take home and enjoy later in the day. And wow, they were awesome! Though they are very large, they are more of a traditional donut, so they are not too heavy. It would be very easy to eat a full one in one sitting, but also large enough to split with someone. My favorites were the Coconut Crunch, Burnt Almond Torte, and the Pumpkin Cream, though none of them were bad. My fiance loved the Apple Fritter. In terms of value, I believe this place is fair. The breakfast sandwich was $7 before tax, which is what I would consider somewhat average for a local place. My 6 donuts and apple fritter cost me around $25, which for the size and quality I thought was a reasonable cost. Some of them cost more than others, such as if there is filling. The price is definitely more of a once-in-a-while treat, but worth it regardless. Nevertheless, I think for good, homemade items you will get your money's worth here. The only note I have on prices is that some were not displayed, which I would have preferred to see before I purchased. I am glad that my TikTok feed wanted me to come here so badly! This is a nice spot on the East side of Pittsburgh with quality, homemade goods. The donuts are fun and different from any other place in the city, so for that alone it is worth a trip to try. I would love to try some of their other foods or catering items in the future. Plus of course, more of the donuts in different flavors. I know they are relatively new, but I hope there is a wider selection of non/donut items to purchase the next time I come. I would recommend giving Apple Harvest a try if you have yet to visit! read more

Staff was welcoming and friendly. Decided I had to try the donuts after seeing someone compare them to one of my hometown favorites (Oram's). Upon walking in they had a case to the left with a selection of donuts (glazed, maple bacon, coconut, strawberry and white and chocolate cream), apple fritters, cinnamon rolls and a few other things. The donuts are square in shape which is unique. I decided to try a cream filled as this is my favorite go to donut and a maple glazed cinnamon roll. They were also serving breakfast sandwiches and they had a cooler of drinks. They do not have any seating this is a take out only establishment. The cinnamon roll was fantastic, the cream donut was okay but I didn't love it and it didn't beat the competitor in my opinion. However, they are generous with the filling. Words cannot describe how awesome this place is i'm a diabetic so it's my worst nightmare every pastry that I've tried from here so far has been above and beyond a 10 I suggest trying them all but my favorite so far has been plain and simple, hot fresh glazed, doughnut, chefs, kiss, their breakfast sandwiches or fresh made to order from scratch, served hot and it taste phenomenal. Their lunch menu is small, but they use the k.i.s.s method. this is my new favorite local eatery for breakfast or lunch and not only is it worth a try is worth a drive from anywhere if you're even thinking about coming to the area. read more

This is a great little bakery just right off of Route 30. I stopped by on a whim and will definitely return. The square donuts alone are fun. We grabbed a few and enjoyed them all. The cinnamon rolls are big enough for maybe 6 people. No joke.. they're beefy. But listen I am not going to judge if you don't share. If you're into cheese danishes, grab one. They had a list of daily specials and when we stopped it was an open face turkey sandwich. We decided to grab that as well, but it is takeout only. Two of my children sat in the car and demolished it. Long story short.. we had no complaints about anything we purchased. I'm always down for a good donut! The baker and sales lady were very friendly and welcoming, they are definitely glad to be at work! We loved the mocha donuts especially- similar to orams, the other donuts were very good. I still prefer orams but definitely a great place! Although donuts are very good. I found the prices expensive. There are no prices marked. You have to ask and I get uncomfortable doing that. Basic donut is $3, apple fritter is $5, filled donut is $4. Just way to pricey for me especially when I can get French pastries in Pgh for less. read more

This is the best experience we've had with caterers. The menu was quite varied, food we selected was excellent. Jason Smith, the owner, was professional, accommodating and prompt. Jason and Matt, chef, know how to prepare dishes and have some exciting appetizers. Chicken Pesto Salad w/crackers was a huge hit, cheese focaccia another hit. Main dishes, Chicken Saltambuco was delicious, stuffed shells which I normally don't eat were very tasty and not mushy. A hidden gem! I went for the first time when I happened to drive by their signs, and I'm so happy I stopped! They were very friendly and kind and the food was great!
