This is my favorite nail salon in Lexington! They always do a good job on my nails, the staff is friendly, and there are a lot of options for manicures and pedicures that can make it more or less expensive depending on what services you're needing. I got the signature spa pedi with gel polish and it was a great experience. They used hot stones, wrapped my legs in hot towels, and gave a nice foot massage. I always schedule an appointment but more often than not, the nail tech is busy with someone else and I still end up waiting 30+ minutes. In addition, Bill (owner) can be a little rude on phone sometimes. I feel like I overlook these complaints most of the time but I hate lateness. Yesterday I chose Opi Dutch Tulips SNS but it didn't look exactly the same and I asked several times. This is where there is some language barrier with some nail techs because I never got a straight answer. Finally, once she was almost done, I saw that she had applied Cajun Shrimp, not Dutch Tulips. I asked again and was finally told that it's popular and close to my chosen color. She never said they didn't have my shade in and and never asked if the alternate color was acceptable. Maybe it wouldn't have mattered so much if I hadn't waited 45 minutes for my "appointment". Maybe the appointment thing wouldn't have mattered so much if she had asked if a substitute color was acceptable. Overall, I didn't want to waste more time starting over so I paid and left- maybe for the last time. Disappointing. read more

This was my first time back since March 2020 and I am usually a regular monthly customer. I was pleased with their COVID-19 prevention measures. All customers are to wear a mask, temp is taken upon arrival, and you are asked to sanitize your hands. The seating area has been reconfigured to better separate staff and customers. There is plexi-glass between the staff and customer. Customers are not seated together unless they came in together. It appears they have expanded their space in order to accommodate the safety precautions. As always a great manicure too. Go for the SNS and make an appointment! read more

Terrible experience here. I told my nail tech I don't think these nails should not be see through. The nail tech next to him told me this shade is always see through. I told her that I've gotten lighter colors and I've never had see through nails. She then told me to google this shade and specific brand. Drive over an hour just to come here for the past 4 years. I stopped for a while due bad service after covid. When appointment is made, the person I request is never the one I get. And god forbid your 6 minutes late on a Thursday in the middle of the day... you definitely won't get who you want. While our group of three were grateful of this establishment being open on the day observed for the 4th of July, it was a big mistake. We called ahead of time and asked if they had availability for walk ins, the response was "yes, come right over". We were en route and about 10 minutes away so I suggested we provide a name to put on the list to reserve. He was reluctant, but agreed to it. Upon arrival they did not have my name written down and we still waited 20-25 mins for service. They assumed we only wanted a polish change instead of full manicures, as originally requested. The paraffin was a fun touch, but I am more concerned about why my nails have began to crack, less than 5 hours from getting them done. I hate giving bad reviews... The lady who did my nails was very nice and did a good job with my nails. However within 5 days of getting them done, on my right hand my index and middle finger nails had a crack in the nails. I've never had this happen before. Then day 7 of having them done the middle finger nail snapped where the crack was. So I'm not happy about this especially having to drive 45 minutes just to get to this salon. I'm not really the type to write bad reviews or even complain but I had a very bad experience here and I think it's worth warning others over. I came in for a pedicure and Lizzy was the one who worked on me. She cut my toe with the nail file, enough to break the skin. Annoying, but I let it go because she seemed inexperienced and accidents happen. I should've known to walk out then but I'm generally a patient person. However, she then burned me with a hot stone and seemed to not understand that the fact she was wearing gloves is the reason why the stone didn't feel too hot to her. The owner was nice about it but they seemed to downplay the situation and the other tech that came to wash the lotion off my legs kept saying "you're okay" and laughing about it. It was upsetting and really embarrassing to be upset and crying in public and then treated like it wasn't a big deal. I'm in the waiting room at Urgent Care to be treated for the burn as I write this. It's not okay, your employee hurt me, twice, and badly enough that I need to seek medical attention. Unacceptable, and to suggest that I got cut and burned because I have "sensitive skin" and not because you have a poorly trained employee just shows this business refuses to accept accountability. Sensitive skin isn't more prone to being cut, ridiculous. read more

This was definitely one of my most disappointing visits to a nail shop. I was made to wait a much longer time than most places. When I got to the chair for a pedicure, that took a long time as well for someone to start my pedicure. Before the person started my pedicure I said I wanted designs. At the end of the pedicure I was told my technician did not do designs and would have to wait another 30 minutes before someone would be available. I declined. The customer service at this location has diminished. I understand they are busy, but you should never be too busy to provide at least decent customer service. read more

This nail salon was absolutely amazing. Very big fan. This was my first time here. And I was treated so well. I went to a different salon in Lex that totally jacked up my nails, cut me multiple times, filed my real nails down so thin they hurt. Apple Nails redid this nail job that the other people messed up. And they did it beautifully. They were so careful with the cuts on my fingers from the other place. I'm really super pleased with the nail care I received. Not happy at all. Asked for gel nails with tip and paid 30 and all I got was a paraffin dip, NO MASSAGE, NO CUTICLE DIP, and buffing/trimming of my nails along with a clear polish. I have been going to Apple Nails consistently for a year and a half now. I have been extremely happy with 90% of my service here. If you're extremely picky like me, it takes some time to find someone you love. My advice is stick with that person, and always make an appointment! Bill is wonderful, and I have been seeing Linda for a few months now and she is amazing as well. They have a great selection of SNS (which is what they're known for), but also of gel and regular nail polish colors as well. I am a huge fan of the SNS, and will try and sell it to anyone!! Also, their pedicures are great. I have had 4 or 5 here, and will continue to come here for them. I recently went to a spa in Lexington, and it didn't come close to the service I have gotten here at Apple Nails. My biggest advice is call ahead or make an appointment. Eva came over and was very kind, she answered every question I had about a specific design I was wanting on my nails. She informed right away of the price and made sure it was ok with me so I wouldn't be surprised of anything at the end. What I appreciate the most was she took her time and was very meticulous about every nail. She agreed with every suggestion or remark I made which we all know some can be a little fiesty. This is the only place in Lexington to do the SNS color correctly. SNS last more than two weeks and stays shiny. There is no LED light required, and it is better for your nails than gel (I've done my research!) I love getting a pedicure and then the SNS nail color on my fingernails. The price is right - to get quality nail care, come here! I don't go anywhere else. I have paid less in the past but what I got was not as good as at Apple Nails. Typically this is my favorite nail place but i do not recommend David or Bill touching your nails. I'm sure they mean well but they don't listen and clearly doesn't matter if you're unhappy with your nails because you're set with them. I've learned to speak up before getting too far in my nails so that i'm not unhappy, but they didn't listen to anything i said. David switched where Bill started doing my nails and he just didn't care. He was super rough with my hands and i left with the powder (with top coat set on it) with the color still on the skin of my nails. Cuts because he was careless. And he made pretty much no effort to fixing the original issue of the shape of my nails. Overall, just wouldn't recommend them to do your nails. But most of the ladies are wonderful! read more

I went in on a Friday afternoon (after calling ahead) for a SNS manicure and a pedicure and they were very busy but I only had to wait a couple minutes before they called me to start my manicure. Kim gave me a lovely manicure (and she has done my nails once since my first visit) and did a beautiful job on my cuticles and applied the SNS perfectly. I was promptly moved to a pedicure chair while my nails were drying and another sweet woman gave me a delightful pedicure (I needed it, and I'm ticklish) I was asked if I would like a water or something to drink, every employee is kind and friendly, all surfaces and tools are clean and kept in UV sterilizers, and they have a cabinet of soft white towels to use when you wash your hands.
