DO NOT USE APPLE SHACK OF ROSCOE, IL! They broke my Watch beyond repair. 2 weeks ago today I brought my Apple Watch in for a repair on the crown/bezel after a small amount of gasoline got in around the button. The Apple Watch still worked, just not easily due to the lack of button functionality. I hoped to have it fixed, and if they were not able to, at least have it returned back to me in the same condition I brought it. I was quoted 3 days for the diagnostic. Three days went by, no diagnosis. I then waited for one week, to be fare incase they were backed up with business or the problem was serious. I called after 1 week, and they had not even looked at it. They then proceeded to lead me on a string of calls for the next week, all saying the same thing that they were still diagnosing it. After 2 weeks I picked the Watch up, and this is the condition in which they gave it back to me. The water proof gasket is hanging out of the Watch. The screen of the Watch is not fully in place, and you can see the internals of it. The Watch crackles if you press on the screen. And there is glue residue all over the Watch. Please don't use this business for any repairs. All employees that I dealt with were both helpless and incompetent. Apple shack please make this right.... read more

I've never had anything but problems taking my iPhone to an unauthorized Apple repair shop that friends recommended. Here's just another one... took my iPhone that just needed a new battery and charging port to Apple Shack Repair Shop in Roscoe. I've been back and forth from Rockford to Roscoe at least 5-6 times if not more!! Once I got my phone back, it just continuously power cycled by itself in less than 5 minutes of each other. Many times I got it back and it did it out in my car sitting in front of Apple Shack. The last time the owner "Anthony" stated that he would bring the phone back to me in Rockford. Then most recently he said I can come get the phone Saturday but I was unable to because I was tested positive for Covid. But apparently now that's my problem. He had promised me before that if he couldn't fix the problem, he would replace it with a brand new iPhone X. But now he put original battery (which sucks and only lasts an hour or so) back in the phone and said it's not power cycling and he would reimburse me $49 (instead of $50) and he will give me my phone back and it's no longer power cycling. It's been at least 3-4 weeks now since I've had a working phone and they are no longer willing to help. Can't take it to Apple now because this unauthorized Apple service center opened my phone. So I am stuck with a phone that goes dead while using my daughters old rose colored iPhone 8. Hopefully they bring my phone with a dead battery back to me or I'll have to go get it Saturday if they don't mind that I am positive for Covid. read more

My ipad's speakers died on me suddenly (no explanation) and I brought it to Apple Shack to try and figure it out. They tried various things to get it to work and couldn't find anything (which is ok- sometimes it's not something that is fixable) but they came up with great options otherwise for us to cope with the problem. Since they couldn't fix it- they didn't charge us even though it took them time to try and figure it out. They were great during the entire process about calling us and keeping us updated. Very professional service. They do repairs on all things apple- so definitely give them a call! And if your phone or device is broken- they might even buy it from you! read more

Terrible company. I took my phone in to have the battery replaced. I also wrote a google review. Although I was not able to write a response to the owners threatening message, I was able to write an update. To put it in a nutshell, I paid roughly $30 for an iPhone battery replacement. The battery was never replaced, confirmed by Apple. Apple actually replaced the phone. Owner did offer to come to my home to replace the battery a second time. I was not comfortable with this, and didn't contact the owner again after calling Apple customer service, in which they also are aware of the battery never being replaced, the store name, address, and phone number. I am quite alarmed at the owners response to my review, and feel business owners should not respond to negative reviews in that regard. If you have an issue, go to a reputable repair shop that is recognized as an authorized repair shop for your manufacturer. Apple informed me that if he did indeed replace my battery and crack the seal that they would have been unable to do anything for me. read more

I had an Mini iPad with a bad screen and the first place I thought of to take it was Apple Shack. The customer service was outstanding; as they did troubleshooting they checked in with me and let me know what was going on. I have never been to a friendlier, more competent Apple repair shop and have frequently visited the Apple Stores in Chicago. I took my MacBook Pro in because it was hacked. Apple Shack did wonderful job of figuring out the problem which wasn't an easy fix. I feel with confidence that if I ever need anyone to look at my Mac again, I would return to Apple Shack. I recently had a good experience going to Apple Shack with my Mac. I'd been having some problems with my Mac and when I went there, they were quickly able to help me. In addition I brought in my old HP computer, which I had been unable to use since 2010. I had requested to attempt to have pictures removed if it would be possible. Zachary was able to access my photos and download them onto a flashdrive. Since it wasn't too difficult, he was able to transfer the pictures in a few minutes. The service from Anthony and Zachary was amazing. The amount charged was very reasonable. I am very pleased that we have such a great computer repair store in the area. Also it is terrific that we have someone who is able to work on Apple products. I recommend the Apple Shack. They have tremendous expertise and also their prices are reasonable. Apple Shack is nothing but a corrupt business. My sister and I both had them work on working phones that were returned to us completely broken!!! Share with your friends!!! Warn everyone!!! While I was in there getting the run around on when I would be getting my phone back, at least three other people came in complaining about how they have had their phones for weeks on end. The owner was rude and even threatened to call the police on me when I came in to show them how much they had broken my phone. There was super glue keeping my phone together with lights shining thru the sides of my phone. After they cleaned up that mess they returned my phone with a missing camera lens and glue covering my micro phone. They had all kinds of new excuses on why my phone was not working. He told me to take my phone elsewhere and to send him the bill!! The owner stated that all he wants is my money. DO NOT GIVE HIM YOUR BUSINESS!!!! Make sure to read their Facebook reviews also! Apple Shack gave me hands down the worst customer service I have ever received in my life, not just bad but frightening. I originally brought my Iphone 6 in to have a cracked screen repaired- and despite the crack in the screen the phone was still completely operational- I was told the repair would take three hours, it took five and I had to call in to find out, they did not call me to update me on the new, slower, repair time. ** ** Eventually the next day I went over to pick my phone up, after having to again to call them to find out the status of the repair. This is when I was informed that after a failed attempt to put another new screen on, they were going to put a 'temporary' screen on my phone which had dead and dying pixels and was full of air bubbles. This temporary screen only had to last until they could get a THIRD new screen for me, which due to the long holiday weekend was going to be four days. The temporary screen looked like whoever set it in who had never seen an Iphone before. It was popping out, and there was visible silicon glue oozing out of the seams, and over the next four days it almost came completely off the body of the phone. When the following Monday rolled around and I brought my phone back, after making it known to the owner that I was again dissatisfied and if I am to bring my phone in again this repair will be done right, and on time- and I was assured it would be. I reluctantly brought my phone in for what I was considering the last chance I would give them. I spoke to the owner, who assured me he would be the one repairing my phone (because he had previously informed me that the one's who worked on my phone earlier were TRAINING, which I found unacceptable, you cannot train on customers phones.) So I left my phone with him to be repaired. I called later that day around 4:30 to check on my phone because once again I was given no update, no call to let me know it was complete. I spoke with the owner and he- snarkily- said "Oh, you haven't picked it up yet? I EXPLICITLY told you your phone would be ready at noon, I told you as I was walking out the door this morning." ** So naturally I was upset and I let him know I thought it was a little ridiculous, to which his response was not apologetic, or sympathetic, but he got aggressive and started telling me he'd done me a favor by fixing my phone and offering me a $100 credit at the store and a free screen protector. Now I don't know but I don't really consider fixing what you had let your employees screw up three times a favor. At this point I was furious so I told him I would take a $50 refund over a $100 credit because I would never be bringing a device back to this store. His response was "You don't know who you're dealing with." Literally trying to intimidate me. * He told me to sign the paper and get out, which I did, and as I was leaving I said "I'm going to leave you a great review!" and he responded "Great! I can't wait to reply to it."(So if there is a reply from him below take it with a grain of salt because he had already planned to try and refute me.) And again, not proud of this but as upset as I was as I was walking out the door I had said "asshole" about him, but not towards him because I didn't want to antagonize that much, and his response to that was hands down the least professional thing I had ever seen an owner, employee, or even just adult do. ** He followed me out of the store on to the sidewalk/parking lot and screamed, "You want to call me an asshole, then get in my face and call me an asshole!" (Which is exactly something I would expect from a bully; antagonistic, unprofessional intimidation.) I wasn't afraid of him though so I got right back up in his face and called him an asshole like he'd told me to. He then screamed that he did me a favor and how rude I was and walked back inside. It was hands down the worst I have ever been treated, or ever even heard of someone being treated by a business owner. I know this review is long but if you only read a part let it be this; DON'T TAKE YOUR DEVICES TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT. Scheduled an appointment for 10am to have my laptop looked at. Everything looked very professional online. I received a confirmation email for my appointment. When I arrived today the place was a hole in the wall. It's in the back of a beauty salon and the salon receptionist is handling all of the Apple customers. She confirmed my appointment and let me know that the guy wasn't even there. She said that it would be like an hour and I would receive a call. So i ran to walmart and got a few things. I showed back up an hour later to check on it and the guy still wasn't even there. Receptionist said he wouldn't be in until 12. I live in stillman valley, I can't just wait around in roscoe for hours because this guy didn't want to wake up for work. I took my laptop back and headed for the door and a mouse ran across the middle of the floor. This place is a joke. read more

I have never had such amazing customer service as I did throughout all of my dealings with The Apple Shack. Anthony is an amazing guy! When I cracked my iPhone 5c screen, my friend told me about Apple Shack. I emailed and got a reply right away. Anthony told me what it would cost at that time and it was just too pricey. So I figured I would just deal with it for a while. I planned to get it fixed at Christmastime but the prices were still relatively high. I gave up and lived with a cracked screen, expecting to just shell out $300 somewhere when I got the money. Anthony emailed me in March out of no where and asked if I had gotten my screen fixed. The prices for the parts had finally gone down and we scheduled a time to get my screen fixed. I live in Madison so I had to coordinate travel, but I'm from that area so I just worked it into a trip to visit family. We had to reschedule a couple of times but Anthony was always professional and helpful. The day I finally brought my phone in, I was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere of the shop. It is nicely furnished and carpeted with a coffeemaker and pictures and music. I felt very comfortable sitting with Anthony and chatting while he worked. We ran into some complications so I ended up having to stay a couple hours longer than I had anticipated( luckily the spa next door, called Bedazzled. had some openings and Anthony owns that too so my extra time there was used for pampering!). My phone looked good as new when it was retuned to me and even though there was extra work, I wasnt required to pay more than the originally quoted price. If I ever break my screen again (knock on wood) I would never even think to go anywhere else! read more

Rip off and scam company, will not repair your phone correctly and will not return phone calls. I am $180 into repairs and nothing is fixed in fact it's worse than before. They have had my phone for the 3rd or 4th time and I can't get a call back it's been almost a month. I filed with BBB this morning. Owner is rude and owner and employees lie straight to your face! This place should be shut down after I read other reviews, customer beware of this company find another repair service that will actually fix the problem and treat you with respect. Hi. I took my son's I-phone there to be looked at, as it had been washed at a time the expensive lifeproof cover was broken. There was a lot wrong, and we did go back and forth with calls, and waiting longer than we had hoped. However, fixing an electronic device isn't an exact science, and each time I confronted a worker, he was friendly and explained what was going on and why the delay. Grant it, it was a little frustrating, but they fixed my son's phone, except for vibration mode for a reasonable price of which they took into consideration the time we waited. I was thrilled my son got his phone back in working order for a fraction of the price of a new one. That has been about 5-6 months ago, I believe, and it's still functioning fine.
