A lot of target golf and hitting to specific landing areas instead of spraying it all over the place from the tee box which is always a fun change of pace. It's a little shorter than your average course but the challenge is in executing the shots. The fairways are generally quite wide and forgiving, but there are some narrow ones as well that can be tricky to navigate. The greens are slightly undulating but mostly flat, so you don't have to worry about having to putt with any major breaks or slopes. Course Conditions & Amenities: Unfortunately, the course conditions at Orchard Trace leave something to be desired. The fairways were quite rough when I played here and the greens were slow and bumpy as well. Additionally, there aren't many amenities onsite--just a small pro shop where you can buy drinks and snacks before teeing off. Asheville is about 30-40 minutes and there is major construction on 26 causing traffic issues. Lots of back roads as you approach from the north--watch for blind corners! Very scenic location. "Jump Off Rock" is nearby, but got lost trying to access. We stayed in #115. Needs major updating. Possible Bedbug infestation as we all had itchy bites in the morning. Mattress was uncomfortable. TV only has basic cable. Can hear the folks above- floors are thin. Has a cheap motel feel as the door leads directly outside. Heater/Air conditioner was functional but loud. Pet fee was $35, reasonable. Patio would be nice if it was de-bugged and upgraded. FYI this has no free breakfast, from past reviews one may better off at Dunkin's. We never ate at the restaurant. It's cheap, but you get less than you paid for. No excuses On the possibility of bedbugs. Will be considering accommodations in Hendersonville in the future.

They also offer golf lessons and golf clinics. Colby is an incredible instructor and is so knowledgeable about the game of golf. They also offer memberships which is brilliant for families. Unlimited range balls... jackpot!! They also are available for events - what a perfect place for a birthday party! They offer party packages and have some awesome add on services (sno cone machine, cotton candy, bounce house and more). This is a great place to spend an afternoon with the fam.
