Bad experiences with a few members of the staff. Have played there off and on since the mid 80s, but thanks to a few, will not be back.

Review is for the room, did not play golf. Close to Hendersonville, a great town with lots of shops. Asheville is about 30-40 minutes and there is major construction on 26 causing traffic issues. Lots of back roads as you approach from the north--watch for blind corners! Very scenic location. "Jump Off Rock" is nearby, but got lost trying to access. We stayed in #115. Needs major updating. Possible Bedbug infestation as we all had itchy bites in the morning. Mattress was uncomfortable. TV only has basic cable. Can hear the folks above- floors are thin. Has a cheap motel feel as the door leads directly outside. Heater/Air conditioner was functional but loud. Pet fee was $35, reasonable. Patio would be nice if it was de-bugged and upgraded. FYI this has no free breakfast, from past reviews one may better off at Dunkin's. We never ate at the restaurant. It's cheap, but you get less than you paid for. No excuses On the possibility of bedbugs. Will be considering accommodations in Hendersonville in the future. read more

It could be great. The course has a great layout.... And it stops there. Lots of play and it's obvious it caters to an older crowd, which is fine. We've brought large groups multiple times and it's always off. Food service is ok at best. Just a strange place that really needs to invest into there facilities and courses. I would never pay to play here. Just no way... Hole locations didn't change for 3 days and when we asked, pro shop said "really" they usually change them. Probably won't ever bring a group back here. Sadly, time will eventually swallow this place. It could be really special. read more

Probably the worst kept golf course in memory. No effort made to maintain bunkers (an embarrassment) , cart paths, or even greens. Playable if you have five hours or so to kill. Bring your own water and/or refreshment because it's essentially unavailable on the course. For what you pay here a much better value by far is Connestee Falls. Not even a close comparison. read more

This is a small golf resort that is being refurbished by a new owner. It has 3 Nine holes, clubhouse, pro shop, restaurant and lodging. It is located just outside of Hendersonville on route 64. We played the north and west south nines. They were nice with terrain changes and water on some holes. We preferred the south nine, the north nine had more interesting elevation changes, however, a number of holes had pop-up springs creating wets spots in the fairway. Made a reservation Saturday night for a brunch for 5 on Sunday morning at 11:00. Arrived at 10:50 and no one was there to get us... There was one table set for five, assumed it was for us. Waited. At 11:00 I found a server and made a joke about us being early. No smile. I asked if it would be ok if my family and I sat on the patio. She said we could sit wherever we wanted. We moved outside and a full 10 minutes later she came to us and took our drink orders. We were the only people seated in the restaurant, at 11:30 golfers started coming in for sandwiches but none of them sat in the restuarant. Did not get our food until 11:40. It was ridiculously slow. I ordered the western omelet with grits and the yogurt parfait. The omelet was fine but I was given the potatoes instead of grits and did not get the bacon it purportedly came with. My father and my wife ordered the omelet as well, they didn't get bacon either. The yogurt parfait was suppose to be vanilla yogurt, blueberries, vanilla yogurt and steel cut oats. I got plain yogurt, strawberries and pineapple and granola. The English muffin in my mother's Egg's Benedict was so dried out she had to ask for a steak knife. Service so slow we had to laugh + orders screwed up across the board + Denny's quality eggs = cannot imagine ever going back. read more

It's nice, I stayed in the hotel area a couple years ago and have multiple times in the past. Never had issues that much except the pool wasn't the cleanest (just leaves so it's ok) and also the ac was broken in my condo thing where I stayed, but someone came and fixed it so it was fine. Room service was eh but the staff is very friendly. I think they should clean the rooms a little better. Not that it was dirty, but just didn't feel homely. Anyways it's a good place, with great views so I'd recommend it if you're staying in the Etowah area. read more

First time at Etowah and had a good experience. Came up this way with a group of couples to hit a few of the local breweries (Bold Rock Cidery and the Sierra Nevada Brewery) on a Saturday and for a quick round golf on Sunday morning before heading home in the afternoon. Enjoyed our stay at the resort but noted that some of the accommodations are a little dated but we knew that going in as those were the only rooms available at the time of our booking. But really we weren't there to spend time in our room so what did it matter, right? Sounded like we were in the older section of rooms and there was a more updated section closer to the clubhouse? Could not confirm that though. Check in was easy and the room was clean. The continental breakfast at Chelsea's was the perfect start to our day. Coffee was hot, staff was friendly, although the biscuits and gravy had a little to be desired according to my wife. Haha. Our round of golf was a tough one as it was pretty cold that Sunday morning and it was cart path only so it slowed our play a little. Plus it didn't help we hadn't played here before and familiarity always helps on a course for sure. The friendliest staff member we encountered was the course starter. He was happy to be there and really seemed to enjoy chatting it up with all of the golfers preparing too head out. All in all was a solid stay. read more

We bought a two round one night stay package. This is an old school resort need some updating. The good part was the bartender at the grill was very accommodating. As far as the rest of the staff it rained all night and was raining hard in the morning with severe thunderstorms on the way no way to play golf so we asked if we could get a credit for the round. they said well technically the golf course is open but if you wait around for a while we might close it. That is really crappy customer service. don't bother not even worth the money for the promotional package. golf course is average at best. read more

Four times in the last month I've driven 30+ minutes to go use their driving range. Each time it was a PERFECT day outside with no recent rain or anything. The first 2 the range was closed without any reason from the Pro Shop. The most recent 2 I called ahead of time and was told the range was open. I get there to find it YET STILL CLOSED with no reason besides the Pro Shop saying "Well I don't know what they're doing out there". This most recent I waited around for 45 minutes for them to finish sweeping for balls to get a bucket. The guy gets done and says "sorry not filling buckets anymore". Not to mention their grass tees have been "off limits" all summer long with no attempt for maintenance. Pathetic. Unbelievably frustrated and WILL NOT be returning. I suggest anyone trying to hit at the range go to Champions Golf Learning Center near downtown Hendersonville. Never had a bad experience there and they have both grass and mat tees. read more

Our stay was great! The resort is in the middle of a small small town, but it's a gem! The staff was super friendly and very accommodating. This place would be a great place for family reunions or group events, even if you aren't a golfer! Very quaint and private and personal. The place is also dog friendly, but only in certain rooms. Room is a little outdated, but you could tell there have been upgrades in the bathroom vanities and some fixtures. Balcony offers a peaceful view of the golf course. Breakfast is every morning and at Chelsea house across the street. It's better than a standard continental. Buffet style. Heated pool, croquette, and other games. We brought our dogs and were able to sit outside in the beautiful weather and beautiful grounds and have a peaceful time throwing the ball around. read more

We stay over Labor Day weekend with the dog (plus for being a dog friendly resort). If you are into golf, this place is for you. Three courses for a total of 27 holes,a mice driving range, a clubhouse, bar with live music, restaurant (Zeke's) and a Pool. Unfortunately we did not partake in any of that. We came to the Brevard area to hike and hang out downtown and this place was close enough, quiet enough, and the right price point for us.we were close to Hendersonville as well and had a chance to check out the Apple Festival while we were there. The resort did offer a hot breakfast at "Chelsea" restaurant. It was a good hardy breakfast (eggs, bacon, grits, sausage,biscuits, fruit,etc.) we were able to walk over with the dog and eat outside. We what no idea of all the wonderful amenities and next time we will come for the golf. The rooms were a bit dated, but clean. we had a large covered balcony with a table and chairs and a view of the 9th hole. We were probably in the building furthest from the clubhouse because we had a room for pets. The property is big and I saw lots of people (including us) walking the golf path with our dogs. Just be respectful and pick up after your pup. read more

Awful decor. Cold potatoes. Dirty water [blamed it on the lemonade? ] Missing sides Employees lounging in the lobby when we entered. Feet were on the coffee table. Making excuses for a surge in the restaurant. When we sat down (Noone else in the restaurant) and ordered 10 min before anyone else came in. We were offered free desert to "put us in a better mood" didn't accept. Had to ask for a refill on drinks, received one refill and that was empty halfway through the meal. No other refills were offered. read more

Don't let the word 'resort' fool you. We did! The rooms smelled and the A/C leaked so much the patio flooring felt like it was caving in. We requested connecting rooms and were told they did....they did via the patio but because we couldn't walk out there, it was a wash. And don't waste your time and money on the restaurant. Food Lion has better food. The staff was very nice though. Their website should be updated as it still said they have a free hot breakfast...which they didn't. It said dogs were welcome but there is no trash receptacle anywhere to be found. read more

The worst brunch I've ever had! Brought to our table without menus. When a waitress finally came for our drink order (which took some time) we asked for the menus. We ordered our food at the same time. It took forever to get our water and couple coffees. When the coffee arrived, it was cold. She didn't bring any sweeteners, and acted as though we were really putting her out to be able to get some hot (or even warm) coffee. I ordered "eggs Benedict with extra hard (almost burnt) eggs". Someone else at the table had the identical order to make it simple. My husband ordered the stuffed French toast with hash browns. We didn't get our coffee back for quite some time. The waitress didn't appear from the back (where we could see her with a group of other 16 year girls chatting) until the food came out 45 minutes later. The food order was wrong, to say the least. There wasn't much hollandaise on top of the eggs Benedict. The eggs were runny (which I ordered almost burnt) as were the others at the table. My husbands over medium eggs came out scrambled hard and his hash browns never appeared. I sent both eggs Benedict back as she was handing us our plates and asked for coffee refills. 20 minutes later I walked to the back to ask for coffee from the group of waitresses. My waitress acted surprised and I simply said I hadn't seen her. When the eggs Benedict came back, it was obvious it was the same plate and the eggs had simply been replaced. Sliced open the yolk ran all over the plate... Again. At least it covered the prior yolk that was still on the plate and had congealed atop of the, not Canadian bacon as stated in the menu, but deli ham and wet, mushy English muffin. I didn't bother to send it back as the rest of the table had finished their meals and were ready to leave. Instead I tried to eat around the mushy eggs. When asked by the hostess how out meal was I was as honest as possible and said it wasn't good. The 16 year old looked surprised and couldn't walk away fast enough. The only adult I saw was a waitress that stepped out from the back to refill someone's coffee at a nearby table. I explained some of our experience to her and she apologized. When we asked for the check they said they would see what they could do. Not sure what that meant, but inevitably she gave us a check. She acted apologetic and almost on the verge of tears, but as we stepped out we saw her laughing with the gaggle of teenage waitresses a moment later. All was very put-on. Not sure who they have running this brunch, but it was awful. Absolutely terrible! read more

Stayed for the weekend and some golf. Close to the Dupont Forest and other area attractions. Rooms were fine and very clean. Carpet on the floor was older, but clean. Beds were older and mattresses were hard and need to be replaced. Blankets and comforter need to be replaced. TV was nice, but reception was horrible. Screened in porch was a nice added feature overlooking the golf course. Service was fantastic. Asked for a mini fridge for medicine and it came within 30 minutes. Same with an iron and ironing board. Breakfast buffet was included in the morning, which had just about everything you could ask for, including good service. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Definitely got our money's worth! read more

This is a quaint golf resort close to many area attractions including Biltmore, Navitat Zip line, Pisgah Forrest and so much more. The ONLY reason I didn't give it 5 stars was purely cosmetic which was the bedding, which was clean, but I would like to see updated. My room was immaculately clean. WiFi was off and on, but I didn't mind at all. Breakfast was delish and a great assortment of items which were "real" and not fake eggs. We used this resort as our base so we never used the beautiful pool area or enjoyed golf, but on my next visit I will. We did sit on the porch at night which overlooked the golf course and just enjoyed the weather, fireflys and beauty. Without hesitation I would plan on staying here again. read more

Good food, great views, the golf is challenging and fun. We love it. Compared to the higher priced golf resorts in the area this is a real find. The cost is less than $2k per year for FULL membership. It has tennis courts and a pool and is a true value. The 27 hole course is in great shape and is being redone as we speak. I love this place and I'm sure whom ever comes and checks it out will love it too. read more

Laughably bad. Started with a lousy wine list (garbage) then went on (why?) to a fish and raw potato dinner. Could not penetrate the potatoes with a fork ! Bread was good, but could not put the frozen butter on the bread. Service could not get the dinners or the wine to the 6 of us correctly. Need I go on? read more

We stayed here a few weeks ago just as a last minute overnight getaway. My 7 year old daughter wanted to go to sliding rock. It was hard to find a place last minute that had a room available that wasn't going to cost an arm and a leg. We aren't golfers and I figured even though we didn't golf I would try it and we were pleasantly surprised. They accommodated us by switching our rooms so we could check in a little early which was super nice. The room was neat and clean and comfortable. I saw some complaints about the decor being dated. I think the bedspread and curtains were a little but the furniture was not. I have no complaints there. The view of the golf course was great. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching the guys play. It was a fun little something we don't normally get to see. We had a late lunch at the hotel restaurant. It was pretty good, no complaints. It was just us and a few golfers having a drink after a day of golf. There was a nice, clean pool with a lifeguard and even some pool toys for my daughter. She was thrilled. I will definitely consider staying here again next time I'm in the mountains. read more

I have never lodged at this place because Im a local, and the atmosphere and food are good at "Zekes" on the green restaurant, but I have to say be careful if you are wanting to inquire about reserving for an upcoming party or event. I needed to find a place to have a rehersal dinner and was anxious in getting something booked pretty quickly. I thought the Picnic area they have next to the restaurant overlooking the golf course would of been a beautiful place to have one. So I called the manager (Peter) who I was told was the event coordiator for several weeks and could not get ahold of him and had left several messages for him to call me back. Two weeks went by before I finally heard from him. We then discussed what I was looking for and he seemed happy to help and have my business and had informed me that he would be back in touch within a couple of days with prices for me. It has been two weeks now again and I have not heard anything. After several emails sent inquiring if he had information for me I still have not had a response. To me this is very bad management and very rude to leave people hanging like this with no response. He is in the wrong field of work and should not be put in this position if this is the best he can do with customers. I was very disappointed in the way he handles things. Please be careful before considering planning an event at this facility and be aware of who your dealing with. read more
