We came over to this restaurant while our car was at Jiffy Lube getting worked on. We were seated right away and the waitress came over to take our drink order. She brought our drinks over and we ordered her food. When our food came out it was hot and for the most part very good. I ordered the four cheese mac & cheese with honey pepper chicken and the pasta was good but the chicken was very overcooked and dry. It was really hard to chew. My son got a chicken Caesar salad and he said it was very good. His chicken was grilled and juicy. My husband ordered the fish and chips and the outside batter was crunchy and the fish was cooked very well inside. All in all it was a good experience and we would return again. read more

We were on our way to the Philadelphia airport and decided to stop here for a late lunch/early dinner. The restaurant was not crowded. Our server, Maya, was very nice. She recommended the French Onion Soup, and she was spot on. It was loaded with onions and full of flavor. I was really surprised. Wonderful experience at Applebee's in the lovely town of Aberdeen. We stopped here on the way traveling between PA and VA. No complaints here! Appetizer came out timely and was fresh. We came here for some late night appetizers on Saturday night and glad we did. We were seated in the bar area right away and our server was friendly and accommodating. We ordered the double crunch bone-in wings with the waiters recommendation of the honey pepper sauce. The wings were crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside and the honey pepper combo was great! But, their chicken wanton tacos are still our favorite here. Love the crunch of the wanton shell and all of the delicious flavors of the sweet honey-garlic chicken and the zesty chili Asian sauce with the tangy Cole slaw on top. The specialty mixed drinks here are a little weak, but didn't expect too much of a punch from a goblet sized $5 Long Island iced tea. Still refreshing and tasty. This place is such a vibe. We went in for the late night deal and everything from appetizers and drinks were half off. Had a couple of drinks and stuffed up on the appetizer. We had the waffle fries which were so good mozzarella sticks also a 5 everything was just perfect, only thing I'll say is they could've waited to bring out the main dish a little later everything came out at once but it was wonderful. We Went to just get out of the house and ordered the classic combo and the whole lotta burger which was very good so my gripe is not with the food it's with the fact that they never cleared the dirty dishes off the table!! A 3.5 (half not doable w Yelp) Food was great. (Have to remind myself that this Applebee's doesn't have spinach) Service was fine. But seriously disappointed in their pricing. I can't make them have what they don't have. So I ordered my food It came out timely, sans tomato. I asked about the tomato. She says it doesn't come w tomato. I'm pretty sure it does so ask for the menu to confirm. She gets it, realizes the error and asks do I want them. I'm like, yes. But please don't bring me cold tomatoes to add to my warm pasta dish. She returns with the tomato bruschetta which adds that special touch to the meal Food was great and perfectly cooked salmon. I'd ordered the drink of the month "vampire". Yuck. Tasted like purple syrup w minimal rum. Two sips. Lots of water. Left it on the table (me thinks Applebee's does $1 drinks to get rid of "old" alcohol from the bar) There's a "order tablet" on the table, but it won't let me order another drink, despite a (different) waiter insisting that it should. (He gave up after taking and returning it to the table to no avail). He didn't bother to ask if I wanted another drink The tablet also doesn't let you order main meals. Although it will let you pay at the end If I place my own appetizer, dessert, and maybe, drink order, does the waitress leave me a tip?‍ I finish eating and ask for the bill. I think they are "pushing" customers to use the tablet at the table because the elderly couple behind me was coerced into finally using theirs despite obviously not comfortable with it. She asked if I was using cash or card and if I wanted the tablet. I politely said no and she didn't press the issue. When the bill arrived I was disappointed. As stated above, I'm used to a $2-4-6 dollar upcharge if I choose salmon over chicken. But $12?!! As the receipt shows, they seemingly took $3off for the chicken but then added $12 for the salmon -so still, an extra $9 upcharge. $23 for salmon atop pasta. Even the 3 steak options they offer are no more than $16!! And asking for the menu again, I noted a $9.99 limited special of "meat choice and pasta choice" for $10 I coulda got TWO salmons and TWO pastas for less than what was brought to me with no warning or suggestions , I know some people get offended when severs mention additional costs for special orders. That makes no sense to me, when all the waitress is doing is clarifying that the price you see on the menu isn't the price of what you're asking -it squashes disagreements with final bills, before the order is complete Did I mention I've ordered this same thing before (forgot about the non spinach) and it def didn't cost this much. But I didn't have the old receipt to prove it, so no point in arguing. Perhaps I should have said something when I got the bill, but I don't like conflict. So am just warning others. And reminding myself: this non-menu item is severely overpriced. I left just over 10% tip: a different server had to order my drink. My sever was gonna say spinach was avail, then would have to come back without it. Was wrong about my missing tomatoes. And didn't mention the $12 upcharge (ok $9-still significant enough to warrant a warning) But a tip nonetheless cause that's what we do. read more

We ordered thru Uber Eats, at 5:50 pm on a Friday the Restaurant is under 18 miles. Before placing the order the delivery time was 6:50 to 7:10, So we placed the order for ASAP, So the start of issues were the delivery time, I was informed that there was a stop Pryor to us and delivery would be 7:30, okay 20 minutes not happy but then we get the delivery time 7:50, so we attempted to cancel the driver was out and when he was 5 minutes away he contacted me and asked if we wanted to return the order. We accepted the order. A BIGGER MISTAKE, I NOW KNOW WHY APPLEBEES ADVERTISE BAR DRINKS, their food SUCKS. BURGER KINGS CHICKEN FRIES ARE BETTER THEN APPLEBEES CHICKEN TENDERS!, there soups as well as anything that should be warm were ice cold, the portions less the 3oz, for $6.50. This is my fifth visit to this establishment. It's a local watering hole. But as is with most Applebees, it's fallen from its former glory. I ordered a ribeye medium rare and it came out well done. Three stars because the kitchen could not get a simple "hold the mushrooms" straight. Which meant a very delayed wait for our lunch in an almost empty restaurant mid-afternoon. But our server was nice and the food wan't bad when it finally arrived. I did find the potatoes overcooked and dried out, however. Came here Christmas Eve like we've been doing for 20+ years after Mass. My son and Daughter In law were meeting us there. We arrived 1st, and I ordered 4 waters, my husband asked for a coke. Not sure if this was his first job or night, but he had the personality of the wall. No interaction verbally at all. My son wanted a salad, when he requested the dressing, again, just a "no". No, it was not available, they were out, NOTHING. After a few minutes my son got fed up and said forget the salad. My DIL ordered what she wanted, and also wanted to order Spinach and Artichoke dip, again, "No". Neither of them were getting the appetizer to split, so why couldn't this be added in, even if we had to pay more? They wanted to order drinks, as did I, but we were never asked!!! Guess we should be grateful we had water to drink. Hubby and I ordered the steak and crispy shrimp. We chose coleslaw too. I had asked for xtra cocktail sauce. When the food was delivered, it was not delivered at the same time. So my husband and I waited for our kids to be served too. Finally their meals came out. We had already commented on our coleslaw portions! Usually a side dish is delivered in a small bowl. Our was delivered in a plastic black ketchup container! Maybe a tablespoon or tablespoon and a half of coleslaw in it!!! The shrimp weren't crispy. DIL fries were barely warm. Total meal was horrible! Service was lousy! A complete failure!! We had planned on leaving a large tip, we always tip at least 20%, and it being Christmas Eve, it's usually 30%. This person didn't deserve ANY TIP, however, it being Christmas Eve, we did tip, only because it WAS Christmas Eve. I believe I know why Applebee's are closing now. This was our go to restaurant for Christmas Eve, until the one in Bel Air closed! The staff was great there! Will not be coming back to this one in Aberdeen though! read more

Applebees usually fulfills expectations and rarely exceeds them. Business lunch during the week was adequate, reasonably speedy and predictably priced. If your palate is not overly picky and you like chain restaurants, you can do worse. Thing is, as it almost always is with Applebees, I was left wondering if I could have chosen better. Was the choice of Applebees really the best at hand along this busy stretch of MD Route 22? One wonders where predictability is stifling creativity, too much. Just moved to the area from Virginia and came here after 9pm and got the half off appetizers. It was absolutely terrible. We got our food before we even got our drinks. Then we had to remind our waitress to bring them and wait even longer. Also had to wait and ask for silverware and napkins. And since I got bone in wings i hate that i had to wait 10 minutes for just napkins and the wings were so dry. Luckily they comp the wings since I only ate one. But I will definitely not be back. Tried the thai shrimp salad , said the dressing was peanut sauce but I tasted no peanuts at all . There was way too much dressing on the salad and it was too salty. Also had the chips and salsa for an appetizer it was fine , I expect more chips and salsa than what I got . Had the apple chimi cheesecake for dessert and it was fine , actually more cheesecake and ice cream than expected but it would be a lot better if the ice cream wasn't the cheap kind of ice cream. read more

I am not a fan of chain restaurants and have had some pretty unappetizing food at Applebees on several occasions. This location, however, was not too shabby! It was clean. The waitstaff was competent! The food wasn't tasteless. I got the Pick Two lunch combo with the Strawberry Avocado salad w/ grilled chicken, and the turkey/bacon/avocado sandwich. I have to say that the food exceeded my expectations. The ingredients in the salad were fresh and the portions of avocado and strawberries were generous. The sandwich was tasty, with a fresh, flaky croissant-like bread. Like the salad, the ingredients were fresh. "Fresh" is never something I've experienced at an Applebees, so I was pleased this go-round. If I get roped into going to Applebees in the future (it wasn't my choice, I was tagging along), I wouldn't be miffed if this location were it. read more

With two beers, the entire meal cost me over $40. Geez. If I go back there, its because I am not ordering beers at 6.29 each, and small entrees. Is because I need to use the restroom.
