broiled crab cakes with mashed potatoes
    Mark H.

Broiled crab cakes with a side of Caesar salad and of macaroni and cheese. They took my order quickly and the food was great. Waiters wandered off after I got my entree and I had to ask for my to-go box and check. That may be because they had two waiters. Perhaps each waiter thought that the other waiter was helping me. Drinks menu should have a mocktail, dealcoholized wine, or alcohol free beer. After all, most people drive here, and there is at least one non-drinker in every group: the driver. Make the driver happy and they will bring the drinkers back!

Chesapeake Burger on a side salad

I had two back to back meals here while staying at a nearby hotel. It's a very nice and welcoming looking place inside. The bartenders were all very friendly. I sat at the bar. I had a couple Tito's and soda and then I ordered the crab soup & the house salad with a broiled crab cake. They brought a fried crab cake and I had ordered the broiled, so they apologized and they did exchange that for a broiled crab cake which took about 10 minutes but I was not in a hurry. The following afternoon I returned & had 2 Loose Cannon IPA's. I appreciated that they give you a frosted glass with your bottled beer. I ordered the Chesapeake burger with no bun and instead I added it to a side salad and they gave me a bowl for the side salad instead of a plate which was nice. That burger was delicious because it is topped with a crab dip and then a slice of cheddar with lump crab meat on top. I also had another bowl of the Maryland crab soup, which is very good. There is a private parking lot out front with plenty of parking. I would definitely eat there again because they have a very large menu with lots of choices. I would not hesitate eating a lunch or dinner here if I was staying in one of the local hotels. Be advised that there is a credit card surcharge so it is cheaper if you pay by cash.

    Cadillac margarita

Not sure what I was expecting when I came here but I typically have good luck with pubs when it comes to eating and drinking. We were immediately greeted upon entry and I'm glad because I'm not familiar with this area so I didn't know what I was walking in to. The vibes were typical pub vibes, a decent size bar and overall dining area. We sat at the bar assuming it was happy hour and we wanted to see what was offered. Even tho the menu was extensive, their happy hour was more like "small discount hour" with items being a few dollars off. We opted to just order as usual with two Cadillac margaritas that were great sizes and strong! I ordered the Maryland cream of crab soup which was just ok, a blackened chicken Ceasar which was AMAZING and huge! I think I loved the fact that the chicken was just as much as the romaine, I ate the whole thing. Needless to say I'll be back here, the salad and 15.00 drinks sold me. Definitely a place to check out in the Aberdeen area.

General atmosphere for a pub. Beautiful sunny day so I opted to sit on the patio. A little warm since they still had the patio window areas closed. Still nice to be outside. The server was very pleasant and attentive. Cream of crab soup was delicious. I had a side salad - that was not very impressive and there was a glaring bad spot on the sliced cucumber. The seared tuna appetizer was great. Heavy handed on the blackened seasoning but I enjoyed it none the less. I will go back if in the area again.

    Fettuccine with chicken.

Here for work, this place right next door to hotel. I had the fettuccine with blackened chicken. Came with side salad, and garlic bread. I must say, for a sports bar. The pasta was really good! And loaded with chunks of chicken. Also a glass of Sam Adams Oktoberfest.

    Private room area -

Riverside Pub is the place to be for a leisurely lunch or a night out. The staff is fantastic, food is outstanding, and the atmosphere is relaxed and fun. There's a private room area that's a hidden hot spot in Harford County! I threw my husband a surprise birthday party, and the staff really brought their best forward to make it an unforgettable evening. Dana is my go to person, and an outstanding person. She helped me order the perfect amount of food, and they were very flexible. Don't let the size of the room fool you; we had 50 people in the room and it was a great fit. We're trivia night fanatics on Thursdays, and that group has become a really fun crowd to hang out with. Riverside Pub is our favorite spot for sure!e

Convenient to our hotel. Food was ok. I asked for mozzarella on my Philly steak and got provolone. It was tasty, but not what I ordered.

Not overbearing and it also has the Nashville hot seasoning, which is a nice touch. Of the times I went there it was fairly slow and I think that it's just due to the lack of live entertainment and also advertising any special events. For example, I was there on 'May the Fourth' which would have been a great opportunity for them to have maybe some themed trivia to draw people in. They have space for live music and based on what staff has said they want more live music there but they've struggled to get entertainers in without having to book well in advance. The only reason I am not giving 5 Stars is because the vibe could use some work. Their outdoor patio is under utilized, and has the chance to be a much nicer outdoor seating area. Just a few missed opportunities. For all you IPA lovers (like myself) they have plenty of great craft beers on tap and plenty of IPA's to satisfy your cravings.

Staff checked on us several times asking if we wanted more drinks, which we politely declined. The stage lights were incredibly bright and repeatedly flashed directly into the audience. To deal with the glare, we occasionally put on our sunglasses. Not even three songs into the set, a bouncer came charging over and informed us that sunglasses were not allowed. No explanation. No polite request. Just an unnecessary display of authority. At no point were we drunk, under the influence, disruptive, or causing any sort of problem. We were literally sitting at a table listening to the band. The irony is that the venue seemed far more concerned about a customer wearing sunglasses for a few seconds than ensuring people were actually enjoying themselves. Apparently, in this pub, wearing sunglasses to shield your eyes from blinding stage lights is a bigger issue than treating paying customers with basic courtesy and respect.

Do not skip this soup! We were satisfied with all of the food choices. Every single bartender was super attentive and constantly checking to make sure that we were getting everything we wanted and needed. They were all super friendly and attentive. This is your typical bar atmosphere where everyone is friendly and people are enjoying themselves. There's two separate bar areas and ample seating around the main bar, as well in the other room. There is a back entrance and a front entrance into this restaurant. We have been to private functions here before. If you are looking for a venue for up to 150 people, check them out. They have very reasonable prices for catering and the set up of your own private room with your own private bar is a great option when hosting a gathering. The parking could be an issue as they have a very small lot. There are metered lots and streets nearby though so as long as you don't mind a super quick walk, you will be fine. I must repeat- get the cheesesteak egg rolls and the tomato soup.

Therefore the food should be first rate. Not the case for the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich I ordered. In a word, it was terrible. My wife had their Smash burger, and that also was mediocre at best. NOT a good experience.
