We got the 2 for 20 and it seems like the food was sitting out for hours and then they just rewarmed it in the microwave then threw it in a bag to go. The lime chicken was hard all around the edges with hardened cheese attached. The rice was undercooked and over warmed. The wings we ordered were ok but they didn't give us the bbq sauce on the side as asked. Came here on a Sunday morning and was a little disappointed that they do no serve breakfast/brunch. So I opted for the Asian style salad with chicken tenders (life is about balance, people). My party consisted of 8 people and it honestly took a while for the food to come out. Plus there the restaurant was basically dead at this time (11am) so I didn't get why it took so long. My salad was okay. There was barely any lettuce at all!!! The salad was LOADED with crispy noodles which camouflaged the amount of actual salad. I eat out a ton so I have an idea of great food and service. My family came to visit me from out of state and going against my instincts I decided we would eat here. From the start our seating took over 30 minutes despite there being plenty of seating in the restaurant. Second, server took an additional 15 minutes to get our drink order. (BTW: there were 9 of us). Orders were wrong. Food also took a long while. Order did not come out all at once, some were served while others waited about 20-25 minutes additionally. Food was cold when it finally came out and a couple of the orders were wrong. We spent more than 2 hours here trying to get fed. The food was tasteless and dry. The only positive was the manager came out and picked up most of our tabs. We left here extremely disappointed. If I were you, I would absolutely avoid this place like the plague. read more

This place is haunted a ghost came up to my table and touched my shoulder then stole my food. It's also infested with bugs and mice when I went to the bathroom and I couldn't flush because the mice were tap dancing on the handle. The food was so cold is was frozen and in ice. When I went to pay the waitress slapped me and spit in my face then stole my money. Then they called all the employees over to make jokes about me being "fat" which I am not in fact, then when I walked out they gave my car a boot and made me walk home. I should of used yelp to find out about this place before we got there. Never again.....worst restaurant I have ever been to and yelp already has documentation of this. Their poor employees have to get constantly ripped a new one because the manager won't hire more people. After 50 minutes of waiting and two questions for our waitress I canceled the order. Visited this place right before lunch time. There was hardly anyone there. We ordered the two for $25 deal and two kids meals. Server was really nice. We were seated in a booth. Service: 4/5 our server occasionally checked in on us. He was helpful when on of the kiddos wanted the same kids paper mats to play on--he went to find it for us. Refill our waters on a timely manner. Food: 3.75/5 6oz steak with garlic mash and Mac and cheese. Absolutely loved their sides (5/5) --can't go wrong with that!! I asked for my steak med-rare but because the size of the steak is not perfect round/edges some of the smaller sides were done while the middle was lightly pink. Usually I eat all my steak but as I started clearing my steak to the end the last small portion was chewy textured meat so I skipped it. Never really had that happened to me before and I occasionally do eat Applebees. Kids Meals: 4/5 decent portions and food seems good. I would have to say food service wise was slow especially with not a whole lot of ppl there dining in. I hated the booths they are so small I keep hitting my friends food who sat across from me!! We came here for a late dinner after the firework show on the Fourth of July. They only had the bar area and the few seats against the window available for seating, so we snatched up the last open seat they had. The hostess was standing there at her post when we had walked in, and we got seated probably within 5 minutes of walking in. They only had one waiter and one bartender, and the bartender probably got 10 orders during the entire time we were there. The waiter came by around 5 minutes after we sat down, and took our drink orders, and we waited about 10 minutes for those. Since it was after 10pm they have their half price appetizer special, so we ordered some appetizers. We all shared the appetizers, so we had the mozzarella sticks, Wonton tacos, Spinach and artichoke dip with chips, Chicken quesadilla, Boneless wings, and Taco topped queso and chips. We waited around 30 minutes for the first part of our order to come out, and another 15 minutes for the rest of the order to come out, despite everything being ordered all at once. The Mozzarella Sticks were alright. I took a bite immediately after it came out (after feeling it and noticing it wasn't hot), and it was about luke warm. It came with marinara sauce which was about medium-hot in temperature, and wasn't anything special. I asked for ranch with it, and that was my favorite part of that. The Wonton tacos are one of our absolute favorites here, were fresh and warm when they came out, but didn't have very much chicken inside them compared to other times we've had them. The Spinach and Artichoke Dip with chips was alright, the chips were the worst we've had there, tasted more like store bought tortilla chips. The dip was nice and hot, as it always is. The top of it was nice and crusted from being in the oven, just wish it was in the oven for a few minutes longer to get a better crisp on it. The Chicken Quesadilla was good. The tortilla was cooked perfectly, it wasn't burnt but it also wasn't completely soft. The Boneless Wings were great, needed a bit more sauce on them so I got some more from the waiter and continued to eat them while my mouth was burning from the rising spice of the sauce. The last thing we had was the Taco Topped Queso and Chips, which were absolutely a waste of our money. It was simply ground beef thrown on top of the queso. The meat tasted like it was rubbery (almost from being reheated) and all the pieces stuck together, so we used our hands to separate all of the pieces. So we ate around all the meat and only ate the queso. The queso was good, it was warm when it came out and had good flavor. The chips were the same from before, store bought. I don't know what happened to the old ones they had that were fresh and light, and had good flavor. We also ordered the Triple Chocolate Meltdown, which was fantastic. The brownie was nice and hot when it came out, and the ice cream was delicious (nothing special), which was a nice contrast of cool and warm. The waiter was good with making sure that we had refills, and checking on us several times for food as well. He was a nice touch to our dinner, especially since he would have a conversation with us every time he came back, which is effort that we've never seen from any other employee Applebee's has. While we were here, there was this larger party of adults that came, probably just to drink the entire time. I understand that as a business, you've got to make money, but the one lady had several large drinks, and was visibly drunk after half of the second one, and everyone was aware she was there from being so loud. The only thing I have a problem with for this, is that they were allowed to continue ordering drinks after several of them were drunk, closer to being wasted, and the bartender didn't seem to care about how they were acting from the drinks. But to be fair, they seemed to be friends with the bartender. I would not recommend to anyone to ever come after 11pm since the party people come out at that time. Overall, our experience here was good. Wasn't great, but wasn't absolutely horrible. Most of the food was good, we kept getting drinks filled, and the waiter went above and beyond his job to make sure that we were comfortable with everything. However, we only come here for the half price appetizers, and only come a few times a year because the food isn't all that great and we've hardly ever had great service. If you want someplace quick, I suggest either ordering for to-go, or going someplace else. read more

The longest wait you'll ever have to be disappointed. The ticket time was 30+ minutes for a restaurant that was at 25% capacity, the food was poorly timed so the fries were cold while the main was hot as hellfire, and we were generally left unattended. At least the staff was courteous, otherwise this would be one star. Get it together Applebee's. read more

Very happy to finally have Applebee's in Atwater! I've been here twice since it's opened and have had great experiences both times. Food and drinks are great. Yeah service can be a little slow, but what do you expect? All restaurants that are new are slow to start out. Both times, our waiters have been great and super friendly. The only negative involves one of the hostesses. As we were checking for wait times, my husband started talking to her and she rudely cut him off to talk to her friends behind us. Luckily we didn't have to deal with her anymore since there was open seating in the bar area. Definitely not Applebee's fault though. Our first time tonight at this Applebee's. We walked in an immediately a very nice young man seated us. Our waiter was Jimmy. He is an excellent waiter and we will request him when we go back. Our food came out quickly and it was good. We have not eaten at Applebee's in a long time but the food seems much better than it was years ago. Went back again. No waiting to be seated. Had great waitress. Food was excellent. I was craving Baby back ribs. They were delicious. Not a morsel of nest was left. The garlic mashed potatoes were very good as were the grilled veggies. If I could give this rating 0 stars I would. The waiter was very nice through the whole dining experience, what happened to us was possibly out of his control. We sat at our table and ordered our drinks. We waited about 20 minutes and still had no drinks. There was no one working the bar. We got our appetizers first BEFORE our drinks. Then the waiter comes and apologizes and informs us that they didn't have two of our drinks that we ordered. At this point we cancelled the rest of the drinks. We then got our food which was burnt to a crisp. The chicken was so dry it was practically jerky. At this point we didn't even bother speaking to the manager cause we didn't want to wait another 20 mins for food. I would not recommend going back unless they retrain some staff. The waiter we had was not checking on us and we were there for all you can eat and when my riblets showed up only 3 on the plate then when reorder more just one slab of riblets was on the plate. I have been to other locations where you get 4 or 5 slabs of riblets on first go around and at least 3 slabs of riblets on the plate for another round.
