    On June 5, 2026, my wife, daughter, mother-in-law, and I visited the Sizzler restaurant in Merced, California, for what we expected would be a pleasant family dinner. Unfortunately, our experience was overshadowed by the unprofessional conduct of Manager Leah, leaving us feeling embarrassed, humiliated, and singled out in front of other customers. When we arrived, the young employee who took our order was polite, helpful, and professional. My mother-in-law treated the family to dinner, while I separately purchased a salad bar on a different transaction. When completing the purchase, I was asked if I wanted my receipt and declined, as I did not anticipate needing it for a simple salad bar purchase. After we were seated, my wife went to get her salad. At that point, Manager Leah approached our table and demanded to see proof of purchase for the salad bar, stating that her server, Mya, had informed her of something concerning our order. Her approach was abrupt, accusatory, and inappropriate. We immediately explained that the salad bar had been purchased and suggested she verify the transaction with the employee who had rung up the order. Despite being given multiple opportunities to confirm the purchase with her staff, Leah continued to question us. I ultimately had to leave my table, locate the employee who processed the transaction, and bring her over to confirm that the salad bar had indeed been purchased. Being publicly questioned and treated as though we were attempting to steal was humiliating and made our entire family uncomfortable, especially as other customers watched the interaction unfold. When we asked Leah why she chose to confront us before verifying the facts with her staff, she responded that "everyone does it." This explanation was unacceptable. We are not "everyone," and we did not observe her approaching other customers who were using the salad bar. We then asked how she intended to address the embarrassment and discomfort caused by the situation. Her response was simply that she was sorry and that there was nothing else she could do. Afterward, she retreated to the back of the restaurant and did not make any further effort to resolve the matter. Another employee, Ashley, provided us with the corporate contact information after we requested it. Due to the humiliation we experienced, we asked that our meals be boxed up because we no longer felt comfortable remaining in the restaurant. What makes this situation particularly troubling is the feeling that we were unfairly singled out. While we were being publicly questioned over a paid salad bar, we observed other situations in the restaurant that did not appear to receive the same level of scrutiny. This left us questioning why our family was treated differently. No customer should leave a restaurant wondering whether they were targeted because of their appearance, race, sexual orientation, or any other personal characteristic. We believe this matter deserves serious attention from Sizzler's management and corporate leadership. Customers should be treated with dignity and respect, and managers should verify facts before publicly accusing paying guests of wrongdoing. We hope Sizzler takes this complaint seriously, provides additional training to its management staff, and ensures that no other family experiences the embarrassment and humiliation that we endured.

    If there's a restaurant that is NOT on the U.S. continental East Coast, its Sizzler! I remember seeing one in Orlando a very long time ago, but no more. The closest Sizzler location is in Puerto Rico from Florida. My partner and I were visiting his uncle near this location and wanted to have a good lunch with him. I've heard they remodeled this location and it looks good! You order at the counter first and the menus are on the wall. Lots of great options for steak, shrimp, unlimited salad bar, pasta, burgers, ribs, and more. The staff and servers were welcoming and friendly as well. I ordered the Steak (medium-rare) & Unlimited Crispy Shrimp with fries. My partner had the unlimited salad bar and uncle had Steak & Shrimp Scampi Fettuccine with unlimited salad bar option. My steak was cooked nicely as medium-rare and easy to cut and eat. The crispy shrimps were like "popcorn" shrimps a little bigger than a quarter size. The salad bar looked clean and amazing and could see both my partner and uncle enjoyed creating their salad mountain. Also, they had a taco bar, pasta bar and dessert bar (soft-served ice cream, toppings and brownies). Overall, completely satisfied with our meals and did not disappoint for us. Very jealous that uncle lives less than a mile from this Sizzler and wished we had them back in Florida. Definitely going to visit again next time for more items!

    After a long day of driving visiting Grizzly Falls of Sequoia National Park, on the way back passing Merced, we looked for a sizzler since we just wanted soups and salads. Luckily this one was on the way and we stopped by. The place is in a big shopping center so we had plenty of places to park. The restaurant looks new and very clean. It's been a few years since we've been in a Sizzler. The salad bar is the middle of the restaurant as usual. There are many steak specials, but we're only interested in the full salad bar. The price has been up since then, $20 per person now. We did expect that because of all inflation. Quite reasonable although more expensive than some steak and shrimps on special for $17. The cheese toasts here are always the best, crispy and tasty, perfect with soups. The beef soup was very good, although the clam chowder I used to eat wasn't so rich as now. The salad bar has plenty of things to choose from that's why I like. Chicken and spinach salads are always excellent. We also made our own salads with many tasty dressings. The hot foods included with chicken wings, spaghetti and meatballs, tacos, chips and salsa with guacamole. We enjoyed the soups and salads very well. The service was so excellent and attentive with a young lady named Natalia.

    I for got to save the food photos. I had a feast. It was my grandmother birthday so we had a party of 16. And I had the triolicious with a salad bar. 5 plates I destroyed. Food was ok for a franchise. The staff was amazing and super nice! Sizzler cool with me.

    Seriously thee cleanest Sizzler I've ever been in since the 90's lol. Salad bar looked fresh and clean. I literally only wanted a salad for lunch and this place hit the spot. It does include a hot bar as well...that unfortunately didn't look at appetizing(kind of dried out across the board, also $20 for a salad bar during lunch?! A bit high even with a hot bar BUT delicious nonetheless. Service was great. He came by my table frequently to make sure everything was good.

    Sizzler never fails me. The food is always good. I love the salad bar options. It's such a nostalgic place for me. The updates inside look great! Our server, Mayra, was really kind and attentive. We'll be back soon

    Good food selection, fresh salad bar, and Silvia provides great customer service! The taco bar is good, and I love the chicken and potato wedges.

When we walked in, we were greeted by (I believe) the owner, who was very kind and welcoming. Unfortunately, everything went downhill from there. There were four of us dining. Since it was our first time and we didn't know the portion sizes, I ordered a few appetizers, 3 egg rolls, 4 dumplings, and 8 wings. When it came time to order our entrées, my daughters ordered a noodle plate, my mom ordered a combination plate, and I tried to order the same. That's when the waitress told me I was ordering "too much food." I was confused but explained that if I didn't finish, I would take the rest to go. She still insisted it was too much and even told me she would only pack my plate to go instead of serving it to me. I didn't want to make a scene, so I let it go, but the whole interaction felt uncomfortable and unnecessary. What made the experience worse was that customers who arrived after us were served before us. By the time our food came, I was already disappointed and sadly, the food didn't help. The wings, which were highly recommended by others, looked oversized and unappetizing, and the overall quality just wasn't there. We ended up paying nearly $100 and left most of the food behind because none of us enjoyed it. Unfortunately, I would not return. This was a very disappointing experience from start to finish.
