On a Saturday evening, the service was spotty and slow. My party of 4 arrived at 5:45pm and finally paid our bill at 7:15. It took over an hour for me to receive my burger and fries. While the food was good, the service just wasn't there. Our server brought out appetizers after a while, two soups were brought out, but the two burgers took forever. The restaurant itself seemed to have a good mix of patrons, but I noticed several women exiting the restroom were using table napkins to dry their hands. Eventually, I ventured into the men's room and immediately noticed some white powder sprinkled all over the floor. The paper towel dispenser was not working, but someone was thoughtful enough to leave a large roll of paper for patrons to use. Several waitresses stopped by to assist with getting our food and said they would notify the manager, but the manager never stopped by out table. I was frozen in place by the sheer coldness inside the restaurant and the employees had to get a hammer and drill to tear me apart from the floor :) thank you so much! the no-bones wiggies were delightful along with the wontoes tacos however the pickle tickle fries were too salty, thanksfully the food was at least warm (unlike the last time) and the waitress was nice, a little confusing buts thats to be expected with more than 15s of us! Such a good experience at this Applebees! We ordered the beer cheese pretzels which were delicious! A little salty and there wasn't as much cheese as they typically add, however, still delicious! Also ordered the three cheese chicken penne for my entree. The portion was a bit smaller than before, however, I haven't been to Applebees in awhile so I'm not sure if portions just changed in general. We were seated immediately and there was not a wait which was very nice, especially since we decided to go out to eat during busy dinner hours. She surprised us with lots of cherries in the cherry Pepsi, brought extra chips for our dip, and offered to make me a surprise flavored lemonade, which was super good! Blue raspberry and mango. Today my family and I visited this Applebees location on a whim and ended up having one of the best dining experiences we've had in a long time. We were seated by Izzy in her section and immediately got the pleasure of being served by her. She was fun, attentive, kind and helpful. She supported my drink choice when I was unsure if it was the best option, double checked that a food item was vegetarian for me and was simply a fantastic server. My dad had a riot going back and forth with her with light hearted banter and my mom found her humor and quick wit absolutely hilarious. The drinks were amazing, food was delicious and atmosphere calm and relaxing (we went at 3:30ish). The only disappointment of the evening was learning that she has had a few tables walk out and not pay their tab. My family and I were shocked when we learned this because no one in their right mind would meet someone with so much light and actively choose to hurt them. All in all 10/10 experience. We won a gift card for Applebee's in a drawing so we decided to use it at this location because it is the closest to our home. We have eaten at other Applebee's previously but not enough to be familiar with their menu. Our server, Mykah, took our drink orders and was very patient when we said we needed a few more minutes to look over the menu and ask questions. My wife ordered a Grilled Shrimp Salad and I picked their Bourbon Bacon Cheeseburger that comes with Fries. By the time we decided and ordered our meals, the appetizer came out. It was served with small cups containing Salsa and Sour Cream. It was tasty and hit the spot although it was a bit saltier than we normally like, but worth trying. Just as we finished, the Tortilla Soup was next. It was also very good but also a bit saltier than we normally like. Then the Shrimp Salad and Burger were delivered. The Shrimp Salad was fresh with just the right amount of Vinaigrette and plenty of shrimp. My wife said she would definitely order it again. I went to this applebees with my boyfriend a couple of days ago, our server was Roxy and she was absolutely wonderful, she always had a smile on her face, and she was very helpful. I absolutely loved this applebees, it was definitely one of the nicest applebees I have been. The food was excellent as well, the only downside to our trip was the hostes I believe. I did not catch her name but she was blonde was glasses and short, the whole time my boyfriend and I were there she kept giving us rude looks but we didn't let that ruin our experience. They have tablets at the dinner table to play games, order food, and what not. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. Came back and filled our drinks a good amount of time. Our food was good - we did the 2 for $20 deal with an app and entrees and no complaints. My meal was one of the more low calorie dishes and it was very flavorful while my husband enjoy his meal of chicken and mac/cheese. Regardless of the "microwave" preparation, the dish is still delightful nonetheless. I love mixing the spicy chipotle lime salsa over the spinach artichoke dip. Delicious!!! The portion size can feed more than 2 people. My Latest favorite entree is the Cajun Shrimp Pasta. The dish can be so greasy after awhile.... The breadsticks aren't so bad either. The thing I adore about this joint are the servers and bartenders. It's the reason why I picked to review this particular store amongst all the Applebees around the area. The Applebee's by Oakland University was a pretty poor experience. We arrived to a hostess who handed us our menus told us to go sit at table 11. She wasn't doing anything, but didn't appear to want to be bothered with seating us. We have been to a few Applebee's during the pandemic and that didn't seem to be the typical process. Our waitress was wearing a mask that barely covered her mouth while completely leaving her nose fully exposed. She couldn't have cared less about her tables and spent most of her time complaining to coworkers about the air conditioning. I was ordering dinner for my mom & brother who live there. I live in the upper peninsula. Not only was she helpful, but she was very kind to my situation. We were told the boneless wings and chicken wonton tacos would be ready in a min. 15 min later, we were brought out the rest of our APP combos. Third, the boneless wings were cold! So not happy! They did wave the cost of one of the app combos, so good they were willing to try and make the situation ok. They did not offer to remake or even warm up the food.
