I don't recommend placing to go orders with this location unless you're willing to go through everything before leaving. They seem to slack horribly on the to go orders. Recently ordered chicken wonton tacos as an appetizer but when we got home it was just shells and slaw. No chicken. Very disappointed as this is an $8 appetizer. Food was just okay. My husband had to ask for a refill from another waiter who happened to be walking by. So we sat down with the other two groups waiting. We looked around and the place was filthy. There were two tables staked with dirty plates, glasses, and silverware. The floors were filthy. While we were sitting in the waiting area, we watched a table get up to complain about not receiving their food after a lengthy wait and listened as a family complained while they left about how bad the service was-so we decided to leave and go to Fatz. Service was slow. Food was mediocre. Took well over 30 minutes for our lunch to arrive. Our server was MIA most of the time. The soup + salad combo seemed like a good deal for lunch and it seemed simple enough to customize it to be vegetarian. I love the Oriental Chicken Salad (sans chicken, of course) and the Tomato Basil Soup. Except today they were out of Tomato Basil. So I inquired about the Potato Soup, which turned out to be topped with bacon. I asked for it sans bacon but the first bite tasted like straight pig. Is there such a thing as bacon broth? My only other option was the French Onion soup, so I asked for that. After breaking through a formidable barrier of cheese, I realized it was probably a beef broth, but was so tired of waiting and re-ordering that I slurped it up anyways. Just sayin' it would have been nice if our Gump-esque waiter would have picked up on the fact that I was ordering everything without meat and told me what my animal-less options were. (I think the rest of the fam's food was OK.) I asked our waiter to explain to me how we were in a non-smoking section when we were at a table about 4 feet from the bar, where people were smoking. The invisible forcefield around the bar that keeps all the smoke from infiltrating the entire restaurant must have malfunctioned that day. Seriously sucks that people can still smoke inside restaurants here. South Carolina can be so bass-ackwards. Ugh. read more

I gave this restaurant a 1.0 rating and that was too high. A friend went there on her birthday yesterday and the service was horrendous to say the least. The waitress Bailey Allison could not get her order together after trying 3 times. To add insult to injury the manager was worst than her. She didn't offer to make the meal on them or offer her a dessert. After she left she finds that another worker gave Bailey Allison her Facebook name where Bailey thought it was a good idea to harass her on company time. Corporate will hear about this and all should be reprimanded and/or terminated for such disrespect. I will not patronize any Applebee's and will spread the word to anyone who will listen. I took my husband, father in law, our day and granddaughter along with my mother and mother in law to this Applebee's to treat the men for Father's Day. The server Jessica H was amazing. Unfortunately the cook staff couldn't hold to the same. After seeing table after table seated after us received their food, and no serving staff within site. I went to the kitchen area and asked to speak to a manager. Rudely I was told there was none in the kitchen. There were both the manager and general manager in the kitchen. The poor server was so upset with the kitchen staff. I felt sorry for her. We spent an hour an a half waiting on our food when we did it was over cooked in parts and cold in others. The general manager was the rudest man I have ever met. He could only gave excuses to his poor quality of service. I will never set foot in this Applebee's again. read more

This restaurant wasn't as good as I expected, it's one of my first times in an Applebee's (the very first time my server forgot about us) but besides that, everything we ordered took unnecessarily long, and when the food did come out the temperature was off. During the rest of our wait we watched the waiters and waitresses be on their phones which was disheartening. I'd have to say one of the worst parts was the realization that the restaurant was maybe half full. In summation the food was not equivalent to the trial of getting it. Applebee's is the most disgusting smoking/nonsmoking restaurant in Boiling Springs! Why ask where we want to sit if there are no partitions to keep the smoke in or out?!? It doesn't matter where you sit, someone will inevitably blow smoke towards you & your table. The staff is only friendly if you are a "regular". My food was terrible (quesadila burger) but my husbands was okay. One piece of zucchini does not equal a 'bed of zucchini'! It took a year for us to try them again. Most likely will be waiting another year at least before we'll go back. read more
