Waited 30 minutes for table and no one cleaned the open tables. Don't bother to come yet. People who sat down after us by 10 minutes got their food before us. Waiting 50+ minutes to get our food Really pissed. Nice Hispanic waitress but giving Hispanic customers preferential service. Our food had to be reheated it had been plated for a while. read more

We came in for a late lunch a week or so ago. 1st off the place was empty, maybe 3 tables. Well evidently it was our waitresses time to be off and you could tell by her actions. We sat 20 minutes before even being asked about drinks. Well by this time we knew what we wanted to eat. So when my husband says were ready to order also, I turned right at she rolled her eyes. Listen lady, if you hate your job so much LEAVE!!!! After waiting almost another 20 minutes on food, it came out burned. The nacho chips are black on the edges; there was little to no queso on it and the meat was so dried out. The 1st quesadilla we ordered, was literally black on the bottom. I went and found the manager if that's what you want to call him. He had her remake his food, so another almost 20 minutes and the 2nd burned 1 comes out. We are livid by this point as the manager only made-up excuses but did not fix the problem. I wrote customer relations, and it is as bad as the restaurant itself. It used to be really good but is now I'm afraid headed onto its downhill demise. 3 tables and an hour and a half to get gross food. We will never be back. That's a promise. Food is too expensive to waste money on subpar crap. read more

The food here was great. I really liked the O.M. Cheeseburger they had; it came out sizzling hot and was really good! Service was not bad. I wish I had gotten a refill on my Mountain Dew, but it's probably for the better that I don't drink too much. Most importantly, the ambiance is great. I was able to work on my project, talk to some friends, and it wasn't too loud in there. read more

Haven't been to an Applebees in probably 5+ years and now I remember why... service was okay but kinda weird. Slow to help, check in on us, refill any drinks. Half my tables order came out earlier than the other half. My husband ordered the chicken tenders and they were so so weird. Nothing like the pictures. Just weird flat weirdness. Idk how to even describe them just look at the picture. I ordered the strawberry salad and it was okay nothing too impressive but I enjoyed it. My husband ordered the lemonade berry freeze thing and it was so sweet we could only take a sip or two and left the rest behind. Our table ordered steaks and both were way over cooked. Restaurant was dead but somehow took a seemingly long time to get our food. read more

Haven't been to an Applebee's for years, went in last night was greeted by a very friendly hostess, sat us immediately. Server came over a short time later, got our drinks & we told her we haven't been in awhile, she went over the menu, made suggestions, took our order. Food came out a short time later and all was great, servers name was Lehan I believe. Restaurant was busy and very clean and tidy from what I could see. I'm really sorry to say that on our last two visits, the service was really poor (last Friday and today). Last Friday, we just plain got ignored by our server, and fries for my daughter's meal arrived 15 minutes after her burger. Tonight, my mom ordered the rib-eye steak (yeah, I know, who orders steak at Applebees?) She ordered it medium rare and it arrived VERY well done - and again, fries for my daughter's meal arrived at very end of dinner. Tonight's server was a very nice young guy, but he seemed quite oblivious to our comments and repeated requests for her fries. Not sure what is happening in the kitchen but I sure hope they get it solved. Hard to spend $70 on dinner for three and have poor service. I ordered a 1/2 rack of ribs and got 3 ribs. Last time I checked, a 1/2 rack should have included about 6 ribs. Also, the French fries were cold and soggy. Lastly, I was charged $10 for a beer. Seriously, $10? Total price gouging. read more

I finished up too late to get to Duke's. I can't remember the last time I ate at an Applebee's but it was the only place open late. I ordered steak, fries and green beans. I tried to avoid the broccoli, but they gave it to me anyway. Karen was very sweet and checked on me regularly. Kudos to the cook! I've never cooked a steak that thin. 3/8"? Maybe? And it was medium rare as I requested. Martini was great, enjoyed the wine. Fries were hot and perfectly cooked and seasoned. Green beans weren't bad. Without bacon and onions they were edible. Everything arrived out of order. My dinner was missing the fries and had broccoli instead. Had to request fries and wine. Both took awhile to show up and dessert was early. Good, but I had to knock back the wine. I prefer actual cream or half and half in my coffee. Oh well. read more

Me and the folks were out in Carson City for the day so we decided to stop by to eat some early dinner, and we all decided on Applebee's. Walking inside it was very nice and cool inside and the decoration was quite pretty. The waiting benches were a little awkward as there was a part of the wall that sticks out, so you can't lean back all the way against the wall while waiting, but we barely even waited a minute before being helped and taken to a table, but I could still imagine it being a little rough for someone waiting a while. The booths and benches were very comfortable to sit on, though lower to the ground than most places I've been to. They were all clean and presentable as well! I learned today that Applebee's has a special Mountain Dew flavor, Mountain Dew Dark Berry Bash. And as a soda addict, I had to try it! I was pleasantly pleased with the taste of it, not only was it tasty, but it was quite unique to the taste of other flavors of Mountain Dew I've tried! Our waitress seemed nervous, I think she might have been a new employee. But, she did an amazing job! She was very kind, patient, and good with our orders! Props to her! The building wasn't busy today, but it definitely took a while for us to get any of our food, even the salads. It definitely took a lot longer than a place like this should be taking for food, which was a bit disappointing. Over 30 minutes for appetizers, and almost 40 for our meals. When we finally got our appetizers, the cheese sticks were alright. Nothing extraordinary, but they tasted alright and they weren't burnt or anything. I ordered the Chicken Alfredo and it was alright. It tasted good, and it was nice and warm. Though I didn't care much for the taste of the seasoning on the meat. However, my folks plates were unacceptable. My grandma had an overcooked steak, as hard as the table, and my grandpa's French fries were cold, completely cold. Thankfully though, our waitress was quick to fix the problem, again showing that, for a new employee, she's doing a great job! When we got our second round of meals for my folks, they were a mixed bag. Grandpa's fries were warm now, but he could tell they were microwaved. He returned the food again and decided to eat at home instead. Grandma's steak came back and, thankfully it was cooked properly now. But her broccoli was over seasoned so badly that her and I tasted more pepper than broccoli! We did make a complaint to the manager and he handled and took care of us. He comped the bill for us, even though we only asked for grandpa's meal to be removed, so thank you to the manager, and I made sure he knew how well the waitress did. Overall, I was pretty disappointed with this place. The waitress and manager were both great and patient, but the food, both in taste and the speed of it getting prepared, was very underwhelming. I unfortunately cannot recommend this place as it just wasn't a pleasant experience at all. read more

This Applebees needs some improvement. Ordered a to go meal, which they do a lot of advertising for to-go food. Everything was cold. Shrimp dish was incredibly salty. Burger was overcooked. I had to wait 10-15 minutes at the restaurant from when they said the order would be ready. Went there another time for the "endless wings" deal. First plate is big and then every other plate after that comes with only 3-4 tiny wings. Margarita was flavorless and many of the wing sauces were cloyingly sweet. The interior looks like every other Applebees. Nothing special. I would only recommend this place if you are a huge Applebees fan. read more

I hadn't been in Applebee's for a while, but I had heard that the quality had dropped somewhat. I went today and I met the new manager. Who's been there for a few months, his name is Luis, a very nice young man. our food servers name was Jaden and she was so accommodating and attentive. She came by several times to see if everything was OK, if we needed more beverages or anything. I had the special $9.99which was a hamburger, fries and a beverage. I also had a bowl of their tomato basil soup which was topped with croutons and grated cheese very delicious. My friend had the half slab of ribs with french fries, last time she got the riblets she liked them better. When the manager came over to how everything was so told him she liked the Riblets better. He told her anytime she wasn't 100% happy with something she ordered to let them know and they would substitute it for something else. As a nice gesture he gave her a chocolate dessert to take home... now that's really providing customer, and ensures that she will be back. They also gave us a 10% senior discount... They are aware that things were not going well for awhile and they are doing everything to get back to their excellent food and service .... based on today I think mission accomplished. I don't know why there is a roller coaster with either service and/or properly cooked orders here? Applebee's is basically a sports bar. Being Veteran's Day it was busy for a Monday. Our waitress, while pleasant, was basically absent. No refills on our drinks? I had water and was limited to one glass. We ordered the pretzel and again no small plates offered or brought out. Used our napkins for plates. The burger that was ordered well done was medium at best. At least the onion soup looked better this time versus what we saw in Tahoe. Instead of limiting the Veterans Day meal to 6 options, allow it to apply to eveything. Very disappointed. read more

I will always recommend to sit at the bar, you will have such a better time. Our bartender/ waitress was Alicia and she was phenomenal from the moment we sat down till we left. She was ontop of recommendations, quick with everything and even though it wasn't a long wait she was so apologetic. Food was fresh and yummy! You can't go wrong with any combo app, both are great options with variety. Steak was cooked to perfection same with the chicken. I loved my tipsy reindeer drink. It may be a chain restaurant but it's staple for a reason with solid service, great food, and appropriate prices. My only ever complaint is when I am seated near loud kids, which just takes being upfront about wanting to be moved. Stopped by around 7:30 p.m. after the urgent care visit. We were starving. Jacob was our server. He quickly came over and offered us some drinks. Drinks are bomb btw and so are the prices. Hit them up for Happy hour 3-6 and 9 till closing, plus appetizers are also a good deal. If you don't make it during Happy Hour, they also have a 5 dollar drink special on the Sunset Mana Rita and Sunset Shark. Mom was not budging over drink choices, she wanted coffee and Jacob made that happen. Coffee was fresh and Mom was super happy. I don't come to eat at Applebees often. The food is decent, no complaints. In the past I've been here for just appetizers and great drinks. I ordered a classic burger with Swiss instead of American with avocado. They didn't have avocado but burger was still good. Mom had the chicken strips dinner, great value on this btw. She usually asks for Dairy Queen chicken strips with the gravy but she was content with the mustard dressing too. If management is reading this, it be awesome if you offered the white country gravy, we'd visit you more often. (Pretty please put the gravy in the menu or the "secret" menu) I also ordered dessert, TRIPLE CHOCOLATE MELTDOWN with salted pecans, chocolate fudge, caramel drizzle, whipped cream and a cherry. This isn't typically how it is served but Jacob hooked it up and it totally hit the spot. Jacob kept our drinks full and was coming by to see if there was anything else we needed. I'm happy we sat in his section. This review was mainly for the service we received. I've been here a few times in the past and I've never had service like I did with this young man. Everything was on point. He is a very well mannered young man. He noticed mom was having trouble walking and I was holding her to walk her out. I used to work here, and this, along with the corporate locations in Reno had in place (from corporate) the BEST cleaning routines. When I worked here, I was expo, cook, server. When serving, and your station is closed you would clean the station completely, and have the section 1 server sign off on everything. Once all the servers signed off the assistant manager would come and sign off on the section one server. The practices in the back of the house were amazing. Everything cleaned daily. Reason I am writing this is because after watching Kitchen Nightmares, or Bar Rescue I see a lot of places with HORRIBLE cleanliness habits. Then I thought back to my time at Applebee's and remembered how clean the restaurant was, and the the cleaning routine we had, as well as the prep and labeling foods correctly. Applebee's might not have the best food out there, but to anyone reading this, the restaurant is the cleanest restaurants I have ever worked for, and that made the rest of our jobs a lot easier. I was an EXPO/Server trainer at this location. I was so proud of myself and how good of a job we did that I kept my Applebee's pins. read more

Had lunch yesterday at the Carson location. The greeter,(sorry I don't remember his name), and our server Eric were sincerely warm, relaxed, and friendly. We had just arrived after an unexpectedly long drive from California--apparently, every other Californian had the same last-minute idea we did: Let's go to Tahoe for some fun in the snow! We left the Bay Area at 11 AM, expecting a four-hour trip, but didn't arrive until 6 PM. By the time we checked into our motel, we realized we hadn't had a proper meal all day. Last couple of times going to Carson City Applebee's, the waitresses always say "perfect" over and over with an extremely high pitched baby talk voice. It is extremely annoying. It's mostly women but some men do it too. Also I have had waitresses get right up in my face and in baby talk call me and my friends "little pumpkins," as if we are little kids. No respect for personal space and yeah get a clue, no grown ups want to be treated like children. Also your food sucks, such as NOT cooking meat and shrimp thoroughly. I am a travel nurse. This Applebee's is close to where I'm staying. From the first time I went there Jacob made me feel so welcome. Everyone who works there is great!! They do not take reservations. We waited 20+ minutes to be seated. Waitress was friendly and professional. Watch out for their alcoholic drinks. No prices on the menu! A special margarita was $12.50 a beer $7.50. The food was very good. Overall $30 per person is a little high for Applebee's. Next time we will probably choose a restaurant that takes reservations. read more

I'll admit Applebee's wasn't my first choice for a dinner destination tonight. I planned to go to a new restaurant but when I got there, I found they weren't open yet. I was really looking forward to trying out the new place, so my brain went into vapor lock and I had a really tough time deciding on an alternate... and I was hungry! When I'm not able to decide something, I usually fall back on an "old reliable" that I've been to in the past... and that led me to Applebee's. It's been awhile since I've been here. It used to be one of my dad's favorite restaurants and I brought him here on a regular basis. I got to know some of the waitresses and they treated him (and me) well. My father passed over a year ago now and I hadn't been here since, so it was nice to visit again. I didn't recognize any of the waitresses, but that's fine - all of my servers were very nice and attentive. I ordered something new (for me)... it sounded good, and I don't remember seeing it on the menu the last time I was here. Bourbon Street Chicken and Shrimp. It was a fairly lightweight dish (calorie wise) so that was a nice bonus. I started with a Caesar salad, and that came out first. The salad was pretty standard for a Caesar - but I did note that the lettuce was extremely fresh and crispy... same with the croutons. Those are two of the things that tend to be a little "off" with some restaurants when the salads are made too far ahead and/or with less than the freshest ingredients. No problems here! I also appreciated that the salad wasn't drowned in dressing. I usually ask for the dressing to be separate, but forgot this time. It turned out not to be a problem, thankfully. The chicken and shrimp plate came out sizzling hot on an cast iron skillet from the kitchen - the same type of skillet that would be used for fajitas (and it had the same sizzle). The dish was great - well seasoned and cooked just right... the chicken was tender and juicy, and the shrimp had a nice "pop" to them in my mouth. My server asked if I wanted dessert, and I figured I'd at least check out the menu. I was pleased to see that they had a little "mini" dessert - a brownie bite - that was just enough to give me a little treat without a thousand calories. Just right! So Applebee's worked well for me - pretty standard but predictable and reliable - just what I needed. read more

Very disappointing for an Applebees! It was not busy at 3 in the afternoon. However, it took about 45 minutes to receive 4 mozzarella sticks & then two salads!! The plates were not cleared during our visit. Our (2 of 3) entree's quality was very disappointing. The steak was medium well, hard as a rock, not medium rare. The fries on one plate were cold. We returned these. When replaced, the Riblets & fries (hot) were hard & the meal was returned again. The replaced steak was perfect, but the side of broccoli was not edible, very salty with excess seasoning! I ate the steak & potatoes, but not the broccoli. When we requested to speak to the manager to remove the riblet dinner, he apologized & comped our entire ticket. Very generous. The waitress was good handling our disappointment graciously. Very disappointed in the Mana Margarita here. The Margie that Dwayne Johnson is promoting Wasn't even close to the same taste as the Applebee's in South lake Tahoe. Not even a hint of pineapple (I ordered a Blue Aloha Margarita) So next I ordered a Cadillac... Better this time The order of Onion rings was also lagging, maybe 5 pieces, small pieces at that! Really good food but really long wait time. Nice employees though. I like that there's TVs inside.

Coming from south Georgia, I always hated the Applebee's we had there. But the Wife and I have been to this one here in Carson City, Nevada three times, and the place is always clean and inviting, the Wait Staff is always nice and on top of things, and the food is always cooked well with good-sized portions. Fair prices for most meals, too. Highly recommend this Applebee's. read more
