Went to Applebee's tonight about 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2016. No hostess to greet us. A server came by and didn't even acknowledge us. Finally, after standing for a few minutes the hostess came and sat us down. Sat there for 5 minutes and the waiter finally came and said he would be right with us. Sat there for another 5 minutes and we finally got up and walked out. We went to Applebee's in Diamond a Bar and was greeted and seated immediately. Looking for a different place to get a decent mixed drink...sadly this was not it. Ordered a gin gimlet, horrible taste and served (gasp) on the rocks. Tried a cosmo thinking I couldn't go wrong with that...weak and cloudy? Boneless wings were glorified chicken nuggets with spicy gravy. Not sure what that was about. Spinach and artichoke dip was very heavy on the spinach. On the up side, our server Victoria provided excellent service. She was attentive, polite and professional. If I could give no stars I would, my wife and I were undecided on were to go to dinner on October 7 2018 Sunday, we ended up at Applebee's got seated after about 25 minutes the waitress took our order, and we received everything together salad, appetizer, and the dinner by the time we got to the dinner it was cold, waitress did not come to check on us for refills, my wife's dinner was not well done like she ask for by the time they took back and brought back we ask just to set up to go, I was already done eating the whole dinner was very upsetting to us both. read more

I was so pleased with our server Roxanne and the food was fabulous however the General Manager Andrew was a pain in ass! He stood behind me at the table behind me and talked to the customers in such a loud voice that my ears are still ringing. I now know all about his parents courtship and marriage, their life in Japan, the work he did for the military, that they have been married for over 40 years and all about his friends who got married before pregnancy and after finding out they were pregnant. I know his kids favorite movies and that he fell asleep during both. After all this I'm ready to write a book on how not to be a General Manager! read more

I went into this Applebee's with my mom. It was pretty busy and they had one server serving. So the guy from the bar came and took our order and got our drinks. He was so kind and very professional. He was running all around the restaurant taking orders and getting refills, but every time he came to a table he was so polite and very professional. The food was good as well. Bad service during this whole outside eating thing, we got sat in the sun and when shaded areas were open, we were told we couldn't change tables and not be under the hot sun. Mind you, we have not received drinks or food at all. It wasn't a hard thing to do and it would have had us comfortable. The reason being was because they would have to sanitize our table although they were already sanitizing the other tables when people would leave so how hard would it have been to sanitize our table and move us to the shade? I will not come here again while this seating arrangement is happening, and I will encourage my friends not to do so as well because of this problem. This problem could have been avoided if we had just moved into a shaded area and then have our old table sanitized and ready for someone else, just like the shaded table would have got sanitized and be ready for us. We came to this Applebee's because we don't really have an Applebee's close to us and haven't been able to go in a while. Well, the experience here was disappointing. First of all while coming back from the bathroom and walking back to my table a waitress that was serving a nearby table ran into me with the tray and the dishes she was holding and barely muttered sorry. She actually ran to me with the dishes. I thought it was kind of rude but I still tried to give them a chance. Another thing is they lie about the promotion they have about giving you a free dessert if they failed to mention having a holiday drink and mentioning about gift cards. Don't think that you will actually get a free dessert if your waitress or waiter does not mention these things. Are waitress mention the drink but did not mention the gift cards and my entire table was positive of this but when we asked her about our desserts and she did not mention buying a gift card, she totally lied and said that she had mentioned it when we are positive she didn't. At the end of the day I really could care less about the desert, it's just the principle of the entire matter. Don't offer something if you are not prepared to be honest in giving it away. This is the best Applebee's around because they actually have good service. The staff is polite, attentive, and whenever we go, the manager always comes to our table to see how everything is. They'll also give you samples of things like beer or wine if you haven't tried it before so you can test it before buying it. My favorite dish there is the chicken pasta. It comes with an appetizer and I always get the spinach artichoke dip. It's the best I've ever had. They won't give away the recipe though (I've tried to get it from them a few times). read more

We come here often, and have pretty much tried most of thr menu. The good is good, tho it does depend who's cooking. I really love their salad, and they a good choice for sides now. Their sponach dip and wanton tacos are on point. I love the staff here, we always get super friendly waitress. This is another perfect example of a place that is not getting the credit it deserves. Hear me out, I'll tell you why I think this is true. In all honesty, Applebee's franchise as a whole is pretty alright. It's not gonna wow you, but for what it is, it's pretty decent. I came back a couple times recently these past few weeks and again today. Prior to that I came here years ago, and in that time gap, they improved on their previous flaws. Like 3 to 4 stars inproved. How? The menu from what I remember has been simplified I believe, correct me if I'm wrong. There seems to be less stuff, granted there is still a lot of stuff to choose from, but i remember there being more. But what sacrificed for quantity, they made up for quality. The steak was actually cooked somewhat to my liking, I asked for medium rare, and it was medium/medium rare ish. Compared to last time and other franchises that serve steak you ask medium and it's well done. So props for Applebee's on that. French onion soup had decent flavor, veggies tasted good, and the service is still really good. The waiters and waitresses are still nice and attentive. Ok now the part that bugs me, and what I think is wrong with media, this site, and how are culture is today. I've seen other people's reviews on this place, like many others, I see there 1 star reviews... ok why. In the reviews I see positive things and people say "good food," "great service," "overall good expeience," etc... then I see a 1 star review.... I see the flaws also and I can agree with them, but don't give places like that a 1 star. 1 stars are like worst of the worst, no redeeming quality whatsoever. Nothing good. Hense 1. If there are some redeeming or good things, fine give it a 2 or even a 3 stars. So it's fair. That's the problem, it just takes 1 mistake and "yup, 1 star." People today complain about the smallest things that I feel like they'll find anything to complain about even if it's something so small. Guys, be fair, if there is some good quality for it, then show it. Otherwise you'll be like me, reading other reviews and be like, "ok if this place has good food and decent ambiance, why did it get a 1?" That's like a teacher saying, "oh your report on this subject matter was entertaining and I found it interesting.... F." Wth? If you don't like it here, fine you don't have to, it's fine. But don't say some things are good and all of a sudden the end result is the worst grade ever. If that's the case, don't say anything nice at all if you're gonna give a place a 1 star. 2 or 3 fine, that means there's "some" redeeming quality somewhere. Its been a while since I last came to Applebee's. Their food just didn't interest me compared to its competitors in the Chino Hills area such as Red Robin, Yard House or even Chili's! I came on a Friday night particularly for the butter pecan blondie! My cousin and I used to be in loooooove with this dessert and my tummy was def craving this yummy goodness that night! After ordering my dessert, I realized that menu had changed quite a bit since my last visit! They had new options such as the honey peppered chicken or shrimp! It all sounded very tempting! After intense workout at my gym I decided to eat Applebee's, I went around 11:45 Friday night, I had an issue with one of the employees there because he had bad customer service skills and I ended up speaking to the manager Jenna, wonderful lady with one of the best customer service I've received, my intentions was never to go back to that Applebee's in chino hills California but the way she displayed professionalism change my mind and I will now be going back, the bartender that serve me also the one to help me speak to the manager, she had a very unique name and sadly I don't know how she spell it but without her I would have never even speak to the manager and none of those would have happen and they would have lost frequent customer. First of all, let me start by saying that we walked in and there was no greeter, so we waited. After seeing Noone, we sat ourselves. (Group of 7). Our waiter, a Caucasian older fellow, had to go be called, because there was no waiter around. We had no menus at our table. Waiter comes back with them... Afterwords, we ordered our drinks, dude came back with our drinks wrong, he left, came back, drinks were wrong again!. Anyway, we order our food, appetizer, dude comes back but guess what? We have no forks no spoons no napkins we had to ask twice for them he took a while and I noticed he was one of the only waiters. That, is bad managing why so limited waiters? We had just started eating and he comes with our total! That came quick! Like what the hell? We just started cause you just came back with forks! We went to this Applebee's for dinner. I order the classic bone-in wings. I asked for all drums. Initially, our waitress, Ashley, said I couldn't have all drums. So I said fine. Then she came back and said that they can do it. So I though great. We my order came, I got the honey BBQ sauce instead of the classic buffalo sauce. She made it sound like it's my fault. Even if it was, she didn't have to make it like it was my fault I ordered it wrong. She should have just said that she will exchange it for what I wanted. So I was already upset at that point. Then when I finally got up order again, it had no drums, AT ALL. Every piece was the part of the wings that I didn't want in the first place and asked not to get, initially. What upset me even more is that she didn't even tell me that they were going to do this so I can say that I don't want it. I had them take it back and ended up not eating anything. The employees were nice....but the food wasn't that great. We ordered off the 2 for 27$ meal. The spinach artichoke dip was burnt, the mac n cheese with chicken and bacon pasta tastes like it was a day old, mashed potatoes looked as if they were burned in the microwave, and the cole slaw was awful. We have been coming to Applebee's for the past three years and everything has been good so far. But this night was different, it was not even busy. My girlfriend is diabetic and pregnant, so she has to count everything and be careful what she eats. She ordered the Caesar side salad without croutons and salad dressing on the side and her steak well done. The salad first came with croutons and covered in Caesar dressing, then it was taken back, then it had returned with the croutons removed but still drenched in dressing, finally on the 3rd try it had come back correctly. Now when the steak came it was medium rare, we asked them to cook it a little more, then when it came back it was still medium rare, again on the 3rd try it had come back finally correct. We had not been to Applebee's in a couple of years due to the decline in food quality. (Un)fortunately we had a gift card so we decided to give it a shot. BIG MISTAKE. We ordered drinks and an appetizer at the same time. We received our appetizer but no plates, had to ask another waitress since our waiter was no where to be seen. He finally came around about 25 mins later to take our meal order (2 burgers). 30 mins later we got our burgers, I asked for 2 sides of ranch for each meal-we were almost done with our food before he brought ONE side of ranch out. We ordered our burgers well done and the patties were on the rare side. The fries were left on the plate since they tasted as if the lid fell off of the salt shaker.
