Once in, the decor and lighting has speakeasy vibes. A mix of a record shop and bar. They also had a DJ. It was Wednesday when I went and the bartender told me that we can bring in our own records for the DJ to play on Wednesdays. I forgot what the other days were but seems like they have something going on each day of the week. They do not have TVs and it is pretty loud when the DJ is on. So sometimes having a conversation, you'll need to speak louder. They have some games to play which me and my fiancé did when I took her my second time there. My first time, I got Ontario 75. Which I did not expect to be a champagne drink but it was pretty good. And then I got the back to black which is basically their old fashioned. You don't see anyone or anything that would signify it would be a bar behind the hidden door. When you come inside, a man will ask you for ID. After that, it is up to you to find the right password in order to enter. It's super fun and caused me great joy! Inside, there was plenty of seating with bar food and cocktails. In the corner of the menu, it had a little note saying you can ask for their beer or wine selection! My fiancé and I started off with their punch bowl with fries. We destroyed the drink and snack, so we went for a second drink. I had ordered their Juicy Berry and we also ordered another snack which was a pretzel. The bartender was super observant of all their patrons, which was fantastic! They had a live DJ playing vinyls. They also advertised a vinyl night where you can bring your own vinyl from home to have the DJ play! Super cool! From the moment we walked in, we knew this place was something special. The owners were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and took the time to sit and talk with us. They didn't make us feel like customers. They made us feel like friends. That meant a lot to us, and by the end of the night it honestly felt like we had known them for much longer than just a few hours. The rooftop is beautiful. The décor is classy without trying too hard, and the atmosphere is exactly what downtown Ontario has been missing. Then there's the music. The DJ absolutely crushed it. Every song fit the vibe, the energy was great all night, and I have to give him credit for those awesome glasses too! The food was outstanding. I ordered the oysters and they were fresh and absolutely delicious. They were on the smaller side, but they tasted so good that I finished my first order and immediately ordered six more. My wife ordered the pork bao buns and they were incredible. The pork was tender, packed with flavor, and they disappeared fast. I barely had a chance to steal a bite. I also have to give a huge shout out to Noah behind the bar. He isn't just a bartender. He's a true mixologist. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and made some fantastic drinks. You can tell he really enjoys what he does. Before we left, the owners told us they're starting Sunday brunch on July 19, 2026, with bottomless mimosas and micheladas. We are definitely going to try to get a table because this is one place we'll be coming back to. The rooftop/al fresco concept is great, the DJ played really good music, and it was a fun atmosphere. But coming back a second time reminded me of some of the things I probably overlooked during my first visit. For the IE, the food and drinks are pretty expensive. Cocktails are around $17 each, which adds up quickly, especially when most places around here are closer to $14. The drinks are balanced and taste good, but they are not very strong, so for the price I expected a little more. We also had the same server both times, and unfortunately his knowledge of gluten-free options was disappointing. The happy hour menu has very few gluten-free choices, so if you have a gluten allergy or sensitivity, you are pretty much pushed into ordering from the full-price menu. I ordered the tuna stack for $22, and there was very little tuna. It was mostly jamaica and cucumber, so it did not feel worth the price. Service was also very slow. My friend ordered the ceviche and it never came. When we finally asked about it, our server said the kitchen must have given it to another table, but it honestly felt more like the order was forgotten. Even getting water refills took a long time. I'm conflicted because I really want to support this restaurant, especially knowing it is owned by two women. I also really like the vibe, the rooftop setting, and the whole concept. There is so much potential here. But for the prices they are charging, the service, food execution, portions, and overall experience need to be more consistent.
