    Veteran's Day
    Michael S.

Amanda is our friendly server. The restaurant is slammed today with Veterans. I am dining with a couple Marines, so our party has 3 Navy Department personnel. 1 Marine and I ordered the 6 ounce sirloin steak with mashed potatoes and broccoli. It was all good to me. Tha Marine said his steak was tough. Another Marine ordered the Chicken Penne Pasta. He really enjoyed it. His plate was nearly empty, but the breadstick was too hard for him. I could hear the cruch when he bit it.

Nothing stood out..this business is unfortunate because they are understaffed... slow greet slow food service and no management to be found. My food WAS good but the restaurant was dark and gloomy no music no atmosphere. It was like cafeteria dining at $42.00 There was no alcohol ordered. You can't provide minimal service and increase your menu prices it's too big a risk. Applebee's did and they will eventually close, do the math. The portions are smaller and that's good with me I don't eat a lot. However the rest of my party didn't agree? General consensus not enough food on the plate. We had to ask for salt ketchup flatware and before we could leave we had to find our server...who was out back taking a smoke break? Really

    Endless boneless chicken wings

Apparently I'm the only person on the planet who orders my French fries "crispy." Cuz they weren't. The adult beverage was delish! The service is what I call "spotty" Probably won't be back at this location... Oh well, onwards & upwards!

    Mango Smoothie

Went for lunch and the server was very nice. Our food was good. The boneless wings were fine but the breading was very hard. The major high point was mango smoothie! Amazing! Super tasty, think and didn't taste like anything I've had before. The odor walking in however, was gross. The seat backs fabric were nasty and the carpet was worse. Sad really because it was good food. They definitely need to redo their flooring and cloth seats.

    Garlic buttery chicken and shrimp!
    L S.

Good garlic buttered chicken, good grilled garlic shrimp with some creamy mashed potatoes... No vampires will enjoy , however, we found it scrumptious. Blondie brownie was flavorful with salty sweet nuts. Sweet tea refills were frequent.... service was great.

Brezzie ( sp ) was our waitress; she was totally spot on with everything. The setting was again awesome with a nice day over looking the river, the Louisville skyline and the bridges. Walking bridge was busy. Drinks were ordered and food orders placed. I had aside salad that was fresh, crisp, nicely crafted and tasty. Along with that I had the dry rubbed wings. So good and nice portion. My wife had the Reuben which was new for her (use). It was very, very good and well put together. I'm not a big Reuben person but I tasted it and it was very good! And when Breezie was busy another waitress perfectly slipped in to keep us well served. Their training is spot on. In my opinion this location probably has some of the best trained staff in the Clark County area. Not that others a bad this place just feels like a step up. The menu rotates, but it's always a huge portion and so good. The dry rub Cajun wings are a must. The wraps are big and filling. I'm hoping they bring back the chicken salad sandwich h

Beer and some drinks are also discounted. Service, again, was excellent, with a cheerful and helpful server. My wife ordered chips and queso, a rather small serving of both, but I did think the jalapeños in the queso was a nice touch. Then, a bowl of gumbo that was a grand slam. Rich flavor packed with gumbo goodies. And to top things off, she went with shrimp tacos which you requested grilled rather than fried. She loved them. The only glitch was the server said the tacos come with a side of waffle fries, but were plated with more chips and queso. As we already ordered that item, she immediately offered to bring out the waffle fries. I went with a side salad, essentially a spring mix of greens with cheese strips. Nothing special. Then I ordered lemon pepper wings off the app menu. Served hot, well seasoned, but slightly dried out. The wings were a bit better (moist) in my previous visit. My only "ding" is some trivia type game they play on Friday evenings with some guy on a mic blasting "name that tune" questions. Distracting. And if you read the room, virtually no one was playing, let alone interested. Just let us enjoy our food and fixate on any of the multiple screens showing sports programming. After all, Walk-On's is a sports bistro.

Served with our famous sticky sauce.) These were really good, not spicy but flavorful. Hoopster's Hot Packets (3 Empanadas filled with taco meat Served with our house-made chipotle aioli.) I did not care for these, the filling was meager and the exterior was literally dipping with oil which I cant stand with fried foods. For my meal I ordered a Shrimp Taco, Hand Breaded (topped with crunchy cabbage and cilantro salad. Served with homemade secret sauce.) Did not care for this, the breading on the shrimp was extremely salty, so much that I couldnt finish. However, the Fish Taco, which I got grilled (topped with crunchy cabbage and cilantro salad. Served with homemade secret sauce.) was much better - very fresh and very tasty. Service was adequate in terms of attention, not too much, not too little. There was a smell of dirty dish water/cleaning fluid at the time we were there which did put a slight damper on the experience but hopefully that was a one off and isnt there all the time. I dont know if I would make a special trip here again but I would probably go with people who were already going to watch a game or something.

Left very soon after getting my order. Eating about 15 min later, potato wedges were just cold, and soggy. In my opinion wedges have to be firm, crispy- even after they have cooled down. Wings- It's on me, I should have asked- but wings were heavily breaded. Researching Roosters which breads them, I should have ordered them naked (which I feel is normal). I will say they were good size wings, ample and meaty. Anyway the "Hot" flavor was "mild", but that probably because I picked a lot of the greasy coated breading off. I order a lot of wings from a lot of places. Who breads chicken wings any more???? Why would you? 3/5 total.
