I am not big on these types of chain restaurants. That said, the food tastes pretty good. Historically I would say the service is average. I generally tip 15-20% but only because my daughter worked as a waitress before and I recognize their wages are low. The green bean app is good and the Thai salad is also. This restaurant was a mediocre experience. Upon entering I was a little shocked at how cold it was inside. I was shivering a little bit even after setting down and eating. The food was alright. Recently this Applebee's had undergone improvements to the building trying to update its marketability. Its pretty much the same but the bar area is much bigger and open now, and they've added some more TV's. I would assume they're trying to attract the younger crowd by leaning towards more of a sports bar look. To their credit i think the improvements are nice. The service here was ok. The last time i was there it seemed like our server was on top of things whilst keeping out of the way of our tables conversation. Food-wise, the menu hasnt changed much but they always seem to have new things. Everything I've ordered from here has always been fairly good with no complaints. If you go with a big group don't do it. It takes FOREVER even at 11:30 at night. But when you go with just two it's good service and delicious food. My fav is the oriental chicken salad. Not exactly the best place to get steak usually overcooked or undercooked. Their appetizers at half price are awesome! The wonton tacos are probably the best!! When you go in a group expect to get cold food last week my friend got a steak and potatoes and they brought it out and the mash-potatoes were cold! I have been to a lot of Applebee's and this one by far is the dirtiest, get to our table and it is dirty, still had food on it. The menus are dirty as well. Mine had food and somebody burgers in it. And after the host wiped down our table she left it wet. So let's just say this maybe our first and last visit to this Applebee's. read more

Applebee's of Crawfordsville rarely provides a good experience. We avoid going here, and when we do, we are reminded of why we avoid it. It would get one star except for we have had one or two good experiences that gives it the extra star. The food is frequently cold and/or there are typically issues with our orders not being correct. Last time we were there, our service was fair to middling, but the group next to us arrived before us and didn't receive their meal til we were about to leave. Where do I begin........... First off we come here quite often and our experience is normally never like this. We arrived on a Saturday night around 7. The wait was not bad but we had asked for a table in the bar and they sat us but then the waitress came over and got very upset with us telling us we have to move because one gentleman was not over 21 after we had already spoke to the manger about the situation. She was very rude and we were honestly about to walk out. The manger came over and explained she misunderstood and asked us to move tables. No problem, we did. Then I start with the service... we all had ordered our drinks and food. Our waitress was good and treated us well. The food came out about 30 minutes later and all our food was cold and one order was wrong so she sent it back to get it corrected then they come back with the same food and they had just scraped the food of pico and brought it back. She had to send it back once more because it still had pico. I am really not sure what is going on but Applebee's you have really disappointed myself and our party of 7 tonight. Sorry not sorry... I guess we can give our service to Buffalo Wild Wings from now on! read more

I went there with a party of eight other people. Our server could not handle us and one other table. Our drinks ran out my dad's baby back ribs looked and tasted like they had been refired. To top off this "lovely evening" the server said some other server took what was supposed to be my shirmp alfredo. When my order did arrive my shrimp was raw. I do not mean a little under done I mean some were still cold and gray! Luckly I did not get sick. They did discount all of our meals, but the server still added gratuity to all of our checks. read more

I had the Cajun chicken and shrimp. Horrible. The chicken was overcooked and the seasoning had a soapy flavor. Slow service and our waitress failed to refill our drinks in a timely manner. so first off i ordered to go and yes i know this can be iffy, but i was not expecting the horrendous food i got. i didn't even get to try it when i got home because i had to drive all the way back because they forgot something. i ordered a steak well done and it was borderline rare. everything i ordered was bland and burnt but really cold. the best thing about this was probably feeding it to my dogs when they didn't even like it either. they ate one bite and walked away. i highly wouldn't recommend this place to anyone read more

Was there yesterday afternoon for a late lunch with a friend. Walked in, no one at front to seat us. A waitress looked at us standing, didn't even acknowledge us. 3 or 4 other wait staff standing around bar chatting. Would not had minded waiting if it was busy, but maybe only 3 or 4 customers seated. Since they chose not to acknowledge us, we chose to go somewhere else to eat. The service there has always been iffy--this experience did it for me, will not eat there again. As others have stated, limited places to eat in Crawfordsville, but I WILL find somewhere else to go! read more

Crawfordsvile Applebee's is so-so. You can't always get both good food AND good service. We stay away when entertaining family or friends because you can't depend on them for a quality meal and/or service. On the upside, it's nice to have a place like Applebee's in Crawfordsville. Very disappointed with this Applebee's, we arrived around 720pm, no wait. After 10 minutes our server took our drink order we did get our drinks pretty quickly after ordering. The waiter took our order and we didn't see him again until 5 minutes after our food arrived. We had no steak knives even after asking for them when our food arrived, when we did get our knives my medium steak was close to rare, my waiter took it back and said he would get me another. We never seen our waiter again, about 30 minutes later still no steak and no waiter. I asked the bartender for a manager as our waiter was no where to be found. 5 minutes later the manager showed up and asked what was wrong, I explained I still had no steak, my husband had finished his food 15 minutes earlier, I td him I didn't want it now, my potatoes and broccoli were cold, and I left them, as well. The manager did take off my meal, which and discounted my husbands, the least they could do. The manager said it was the kitchen, and not Danny's fault, but as a good waiter you shod always know what is going on with your customers. Customer service is key and we will not be back. Service was below minimum expected, steaks can be undercooked, but when you take them back, make sure you eventually get your customer something to eat, or at least come out and let them know whats going. We will not be back and will definately not recommend to anyone. read more
