I got the salad with brisket on top. It was delicious with nuts and Craisins and a great fruit based dressing, which I don't usually care for, but this one was really good. We were in the area and glad we chose Creekside. The Wedge was crisp and fresh with lots of blue cheese and just the right amount of bacon. We're traveling to Turkey Run, love canoeing on Sugar Creek. After googling a bunch of local places to try, thought we'd go get dinner at this place and sit by the creek. Didn't get to sit outside because it was full, decided we'd get out of there faster so the kiddo could play in the pool at the hotel if we sat inside which was mostly empty....joke was on us. Wanted to like the place but we won't be back. People are nice. Food is worth what you pay (would have been more worth it if it was out in a timely manner). We didn't leave hungry. Didn't get everything we ordered though because the kitchen was slooooooooow. Ordered 15 min after arriving. At the 1:10 mark, we finally got our food. All we ordered was burger/fries, kid spaghetti (which was huge...and good. I ate most of it) and a fish sandwich and a Side of mac&cheese. The side of macaroni &cheese never made it to the table. If you're not in a rush...at all...and don't have a hungry 3 y/o, and absolutely no other plans for the evening...it's fine. Went here a few weeks ago with 2 of my buddies. This place sits on THE Sugar Creek. The day we went it was cold and rainy but on a nice day this place will give you a very nice view. Parking is ample and there is a ramp for wheelchair access. The ramp is a bit step and long. So someone may have to push the person up the ramp, or if the person has trouble walking the ramp is a bit for them. It was for my elderly buddy. The service here was awesome! There wasn't a lot of people so we were seat immediately. The waitress took our drink orders and promptly got our orders. The impressive thing about this place was our food was hot! Like right off the grill hot. One of my buddies got a prime rib sandwich which he said was seasoned beautifully. For him they kept his drinks coming. They never let him run out. My other buddy, my elderly one, got a salad and soup. Cheeseburger was the soup of day and both my buddies stated this was awesome. I got the breaded pork tenderloin. I love tenderloins. It was ok but for me it was under seasoned. My fries were very HOT which is how I love my fries. The sandwich was just ok which is why I'm not giving 5 stars. Prices here are very good. You won't spend and arm and a leg here but get a decent meal with good sized portions. I will return when I travel to Crawfordsville to visit my buddy. On a side note, if you go here you may get to meet a local legend, Astronaut Joe Allen as this is one of his favorite places to eat when he is out. read more

The corned beef was shredded and so dry it's not much flavor, it just crumbled of the bread to the plate. We split a chef salad but again they use cheap ranch dressing. Well we want it outside dining look up the pictures on yelp and look like a nice little outside area. So we decided to stop on our way home from Turkey run State Park. We called ahead and make reservations we were about five minutes early when we give the host our name he cannot locate it. This was not a big deal because there was probably only 20 people in the entire place. We asked for outside seating he took us to the outside area as smoking or non-smoking we chose non-smoking. However with the way the wind was blowing We probably should've chose smoking. He took our drink order and that's the last we saw him. There was a funeral party, I guess that's what you call it, a group of about 20 that the waitress was taken care of. She say that another gentleman in the same area that we were at took his drink order and brought his drink back and discovered That we had not received our drinks. She took our drink order our appetizer order and our meal order. She returned properly with our drinks and our cups were never empty for more than just a couple of minutes. She returned with our appetizer, which I forgot to take a picture of, it was spinach dip and nachos. Very tasty. Then she returned with our salads. Was not real impressed with the Caesar salad. I've now been here three times and every time the food is awesome. I especially like the Torches. The décor is amazing. There a patio out back and a creek right next to it. You can't beat the view for a restaurant. The servers have always been super nice, fast and efficient. My mom and Ron love this place. It's not too expensive considering. I will definitely be going on a regular basis. This is now our go to place in the summer. We've never been impressed with the interior. It's not that it's ugly or dirty. The décor just doesn't stand out, but the inside eating area is very large. They can accommodate a lot of people. I would recommend having parties there. The back patio deck is the reason to go. I mean the food and service is good too, but the outdoor patio is what makes this place stand out amongst the very few restaurants in our town. There is a creek out back and it's nice to see canoers, kayakers and people on other various flowing devices float by. We always go on Thursday. We can unfortunately tell that they have been hit a little by covid. The staff although friendly are clearly run ragged. The manger is really friendly. It's hard to hire people right now. They've had to remove some of the items of their menu. They still have a good variety though, and they make the best quesadillas. They get the tortillas crispy by frying them on the pan. Their Totchos are great too and a huge portion. Most of their dishes make two meals. They also had to raise their prices, but it's still reasonable. They have a good selection of wine and beer. As we go into winter, we won't be going there as often, but we will definitely come back next summer. Hopefully they will still be open. read more

Our server was the bartender who brought her appetizer and drinks and then her shift ended she was very friendly very knowledgeable. Our next server was friendly just not as attentive as the first. We were traveling through the area and it's always nice to get off the interstate and try a local place. This place has a great location and is half restaurant half bar, we chose a booth that overlooked the water and you can see a huge deck out front where they must have live music during the summer. Since we hadn't been here before, I asked our very friendly waiter what he recommended and he suggested the pork tenderloin sandwich which both my husband and I got. The tenderloin at Southwest excellent, nicely breaded and a generous portion. The buns were heading towards stale and could have been bigger for the size of the meat portion but they didn't detract from how good the meat was. The sandwich was served with fries, the crinkle cut style but whoever was cooking left them in the fryer a few minutes too long. We could have asked for a fresher fries but we were full from the sandwiches. The soup of the day was potato and we shared a cup of that, it was just fair. Are Weider made the experience a solid B as he was super attentive and friendly. It was in the middle of the afternoon and there were only a few of us patrons there so he was smart enough to work for a good tip. He recommended their burgers if we visited again and since he was right about the pork tenderloin, I'd probably take his advice. read more

My Sister and I ordered Fish & Chips, my husband ordered the Cuban. The location is great and the view outside is lovely . The food for each of us was overcooked, really overcooked. The fish and chips were dark brown, someone was having a bad day with the fryer. The Cuban sandwich was so tough he could hardly bite into it. This place is always just like home! Chad and the crew always have it together, it doesn't matter if it's a busy Friday night or Sunday afternoon, grab an appetizer, cold beer, order a meal and dig in! everything they have is fantastic especially the Bosco sticks (if they are available), the chicken fajita soup is pretty good too though haha. My go to is typically the rib-eye open faced club sandwich with the house homemade potatoe chips it's absolutely phenomenal and it won't break the bank. You can sit outside on the deck on a nice day or inside where it's nice and cool. If your meal isn't right tell someone! Chad already has to pay for the meal twice, (once from the grocery and the second to prepare it for you) help him make it up! I'm originally from near Crawfordsville, and I have family that still lives in town. On occasion, we like to go out to eat when out of town family is in, and Creekside is on the short list of places to go. Unfortunately, C'ville has always had a shortage of non-chain, non-fast food restaurants, but Creekside does a pretty good job of bridging the gap. My grandfather requires the use of a wheelchair ramp and extra space at the table. Creekside is able to accommodate in both of these requirements; a rather handy wheelchair ramp, and tables that are easy for an electric wheelchair to pull right up to. The location is right on the banks of Sugar Creek (I suppose that's probably why they call it Creekside) in an area that sees a lot of canoe traffic during the summer months. Even though it's right on the edge of the city, trees surround the structure and it feels like you're out in the country when you're not. The food is good, but nothing I'd tell a friend, "hey, you've got to go to Creekside and try such-and-such". I'd probably rate the food alongside some of the other sit-down chain restaurants on the south end of the city. It's good, but I like the location and the atmosphere and coziness and lodge feel, and that's why I like coming here instead of another place in town. read more
