My fiance and I went for the ayce riblets, shrimp and boneless wings deal. The restaurant had 4-5 tables with patrons and the bar had a few. ONE SERVER/BARTENDER for the entire place. So you can imagine the service or lack of. Not his fault as he was waiting in dining room tables, high tops at the bar and the bar by himself. Our food comes out and the riblets have bbq just across the very top and they are super tough and fatty. After picking through the white fat covering a lot of the riblets, the meat was undercooked (not the smoked kind of bbq color). The texture and color was undercooked and slabs of uncooked white fat made me nauseous. We ate the shrimp and wings which were ok. The fries were ice cold. It server could never do a refill or really check on us. There was no one to complain to. It was him and the hostess in the front of the house. I visited the ladies room and it was destroyed. The food was great. We had the Wanton tacos, grilled chicken, mashed potatoes, breaded chicken sandwich and fries. The Wanton tacos were great and I'm actually not a fan of coleslaw but it was so good. The grilled chicken was very tender as well as the chicken sandwich. Food is absolutely 5 stars. The service however needs some work. The restaurant was short staffed, the booth chairs were a bit dirty, the paper towel dispenser in the bathroom had drops running down all the outside. It looked as someone sprayed a cleaning product on it but never actually whipped it down and it dried that way. As we sat waiting for our food I noticed the host was hardly at the front and several people waited and when no one greeted them for more than 5mins they left. I decided to try this location during their half-off appetizers promotion, which is very worthwhile for your wallet. The food was as expected, but the service at this location was awful. I went by myself and the restaurant was not busy, and ended up waiting over 35 minutes for my check to arrive once I had finished. During my meal I was only visited by my server once when I asked for a refill, and that was only because I had to stop him as he was passing by. I would highly recommend the Applebees on 192 and E Orange Lake Blvd over this location, that Applebees is an awesome location with amazing food and by far better service than at this location. read more

My chicken tenders were hard. The fries were a very small portion. My brother's Oreo shake wasn't at all like the Oreos in the picture. He bought the drinks and told us they were out of "mountain dew berry" but... tables around us were getting "mountain dew berry" We did ask an other waiter and she explained, yes we do and brought some over. (Listen, if you are not sure ask your mentor, coworker or supervisor or at least a respond let me check into that. Not flat out "no".) We made our orders, asked for appetizers. And the appetizers didn't not come out. We try asking for drinks, he wrote one drink down and kept walking! Like calm down. Each customer, each table deserves time and attention to ask for what they want. Not rush them. We ordered a french onion soup for an elderly and we received a soup which didn't not look like french onion soup! We requested to speak to the manager, that took long and we requested again. Finally the female manager comes out, we explained. She apologized, we received the soup and it still was wrong. The food did come out hot but after the whole issue, struggle and ordeal, who wanted to eat!? Presentation and introduction is everything. I've allowed them one star back at this point. I'm not sure why I torture myself with this place except the fact that they are so close to us. My kids not feeling well and we decided to order something simple for them and I got dinner as well. I placed the order in the app which wasn't too bad. I arrived a few minutes early and walked in through the curbside to go door. I asked why pick up in order and they told me where to wait. I walked over and waited for someone to be available. As a lady that was working the front walked by she asked if I'd been helped and I explained what I was there for and she took my name. She went into the kitchen and I didn't see her again. Another young lady came walking by and told another gentleman on myself she'd be right with us and took an order out to a car. When she came back in she checked our names and went in the kitchen and brought his order out. She double checked my name and told me they didn't have an order for me and asked if I was sure. I showed her on my phone that I received a message through their app saying that they recognized that I was in the restaurant and my order will be ready soon. She double checked him back and could not find the order, when she came back out front she went to the computer and found the order and printed it again. At that point I got a message showing that they had my order again. Sometimes it can be nice that they're tracking you so closely. She went in the kitchen and came right back out and told me she found the order and they would be packing it up right away. She was extremely nice and helpful the entire time. Once we got home we checked and everything on our order was correct. The hot food was hot and the cold food was cold and everything tasted great. For several years I've had really poor to bad service here and lots of problems with orders getting lost. They always apologize and I've been told more than once that a manager would make it right and they never bothered to. And this occasion they got my order right and I was happy. It's typically slammed with tourists and not nearly enough staff, unfortunately if that was ONLY the case we would still come by from time to time, but even when they are dead, with more than enough staff, this place is still pretty dismal. We have repeatedly had bad experiences no matter what time of day or year we come, so we have just stopped coming. Yep, two stars overall is pretty accurate here. This is one of the few places I can walk to, they have decent drink specials, and I'm crazy about their Oriental Chicken Salad, but that's about it. Service is slow regardless if the restaurant is busy or empty. Our most recent visit, we waited quite a while for one beer and wine from the bar, and couldn't help but note that the bartender was smoking right out front. The rest of our order which consisted of two salads and kids meals also took forever. I always come in here with low expectations and they still manage to disappoint. So I did read some of the previous rankings as it would be considered and believe either the management is not being well informed as to the issues at this particular location. So I will be detailed in my evaluation on this location. Background I haven't visited this location for about 6-8 months(due to scheduling and work). I did however go there with my better half. So if the franchise owner or corporate. Here's some details. Number one cook time is off. Ordered two burgers and fries. Estimate time. Cooking to medium. 7-10mins depending on grill. Fries 3-5mins. Time it toke to bring the order. 45 minutes later. Not an Exaggeration. That was the exact time. Total time of the endeavor one hour and 20 minutes. Drink refills were non existent. (Aka our drinks weren't refilled for about 20-30 mins after they were emptied). Also noticed the waitress ask the host/busser for help that person showed a complete disregard for helping her. His response was whatever. And he walked to the back. And chose not to give her a hand. (Please note she was the only server waiting on 10-12 tables). So I toke that into account. Manager/Supervisor never came around and asked how was everything(my hypothesis is the individual already knew). Food also didn't really match the photo of items. They used meat patty's that were smaller. One item that was ordered was smaller then what was previously served.(queso burger). If I had to estimate 3-4 ounce patty. Not very substantial at all; it's also one I have ordered before. Working in the culinary industry I know the standard and have certain expectations. I don't expect the Disney/Universal Quality. However having worked as a chef/culinary for both parks. I do have an understanding of consistency. Overall experience is I will go out of my way to chose a different location. Advise that the shut down that location for in service training. And possibly restaffing may be a next level choice. They messed up my delivery order the night before and gave me a burger with NO BUN and no condiments. So I called them and they told me I could come by today and get a redo order and to be there for it at 10:30pm. I have waited over an hour and 15 minutes at the restaurant standing with at least 20 others waiting on to go orders and there is still no food. I can tell the waitresses are doing their job, but either the kitchen or to-go staff are understaffed. They are 11 tickets behind and bringing out food for people who aren't even here. Management seriously needs to either do better at staffing, or they need to pay their workers better so there will be more people wanting to work here. I swear if my food is cold after waiting this long, they're going to deal with corporate. I wanted to write this review as there a bunch of bad ones that made me nervous to eat here. First off, our waiter Brandon, was amazing. He was very knowledgeable about menu, made recommendations and just really worked his butt off. The French onion soup was delicious. The spinach artichoke dip had great flavor but chips were a bit stale. My daughters 3 cheese pasta she loved. I had mushroom Swiss burger and it was perfect! Treat me like a fool!. We had a great experience at an Applebees in Philadelphia so figured ordering curbside pickup should be fine here in Davenport....WRONG!!! I was given a pickup time of 6:17 and got there abut 6:20 at which time I checked in on the site as instructed. Well after waiting there 15 minutes I went inside, it took 5 minutes to talk to someone. He took my name and came back out with my food. I had my license and credit card as instructed and the server asked if I paid. Well you can't order curbside on line without paying. He disappeared with m order and 5 minutes later comes back with another4 worker who takes over. I asked why all of the above? well the answers were " we are short staffed so aren't doing curbside. I asked then why is it on the web site and why did you think it's okay to have me sitting outside waiting like a fool with my food getting cold. Also You have to pay to order which included a tip but he said they couldn't find the slip to which I noted you had a slip with my name or else you wouldn't have been able to bring my order out. The biggest annoyance is I got no apology and no offer of discount or future certificate. My gf and I came here on a Monday at 9pm. There was Monday night football on the tv and out of all the tables maybe 5-6 were full. The bar had about 6 people at it. At 9:02 we were seated at the bar and given menus by the hostess. At 9:07 after not seeing a single person behind the bar, I asked the hostess if there was a bar tender. He went to the back to grab the who I suppose was the bar tender. A lady came out and went to one of the tables on the outside of the physical bar and cleared their table. Finally at 9:12 pm my gf and I had enough and left. The bartender did not show up after that and we were just looking to order food and drinks and be out of there. I get there and I don't see signs for pick parking so I park in front of the front door, after waiting 10 minutes I call and a lady tells me they are running behind, I tell her I am parked in front. It has been a long time since I have visited an Applebee's. Not a place I gravitate to but glad it has later hours. We had a prompt and friendly server . Food was ok. However both my daughters meals (kids meal slider) was so small we were all surprised what little bit of food came with the meal. They both were disappointed. Onion rings were crispy and flavorful. So it wasn't my choice to come here but I knew that this place lacks efficiency and customer service just because of the location. I was impressed that the hostess sat us (group of 4) quickly, but the waiter didn't come by till after 12 minutes and he reeked of cigarettes. He (Travis) got our drinks quickly and our order in. I was thinking he was good but turned out to be a disappointed. I finished my cup of water and wanted more water but he was no where to be found. He finally came by and set two entrees and left, and two other servers set the remaining entrees, which I asked one of them for more water and that didn't happen. Travis came to check on us and we asked him for more drinks and a steak knife for my friend who didn't get a steak knife. Rather than go and get our requests, he takes the order of the table next to us. And guess what? He forgot our stuff and we had to remind him. So basically I've had my second refill after I finished my plate and my friend had to wait for a steak knife to eat his entree after waiting 14 minutes of having his food. I was quite disappointed with my salad. It looked nothing like the picture and I feel like I was jipped. I had the steak southwestern salad and the salad was just soaked in the dressing. Salad is supposed to be a healthy option and a drenched salad is not healthy. The steak was very delicious, however. But for $11.99, I should've just gone to Chick Fil A.
