Just... why would you eat at this chain when there are so many great local restaurants in Eau Claire? I tried. I tried to be open, and it was just as terrible as I thought. Came to the Applebee's eau Claire for the first time in a while because everytime we come it's horrid service. They had a wait, but the entire back section of the restaurant had open tables and no one sitting back there? Got told 25 minutes went and waited in our car for 20 minutes came back in and they hostess didn't even take our name down and know that we had been waiting. Anyways we sit down they have the $1 lemonade cranberry vodkas for the November special. Our table of 4 ordered 4 and then the waitress came back went to get our refills and came back to inform us they ran out of pomegranate so the drinks can't be made? It says nothing about pomegranate on the post on the doors on on Facebook. So 7pm on a Friday and the monthly special runs out? Not impressed. read more

We had a gift certificate from Christmas. Dinner was very delicious. It was busy, but the wait staff were excellent and very polite.

Two of us ordered different burgers. Both were dry! Egg on the one was over cooked.was looking forward to running down burger didn't happen. Fries were not freshly cooked and way over seasoned. Plus the floor and window where we sat were not clean. read more

My wife and I stopped by for a casual lunch on a Sunday afternoon and wasn't disappointed. The food was very good with sizable portions of ribs, shrimp, tenders and fries. What impressed me the most was the service provided by our server Rach. Great understanding of the menu, great attitude, and charming personality. She engages in conversation and makes you feel very welcome in the place. Very attentive and always coming back to see if there's anything more shed could do. I am a vegetarian. For about 10 years I have always ordered the oriental salad, in both salad and wrap form. I always sub a side of fries for the chicken I don't get on the salad. This is the first time in ten years I have ever been charged for this substitution. Quite annoying. read more

Ate here last week. A customer was upset with her server and demanded to talk to a manager as we were waiting for a table. Not a good first impression right as we are walking in. Once we got to our table, our server took forever to even greet us. We ordered the artichoke dip, wasn't horrible but wasn't great either. The entry to the restaurant smelled like bad seafood. We walk into the restaurant to a group of four people waiting to greet us. AWKWARD! The service was so-so. We ordered the spinach artichoke dip. The dip was in styrofoam(obviously not oven cooked as I remember from past visits). Our entrees were timely. The garlicky spinach needs to be cooked. Raw garlic with wilted, warm spinach didn't go well. My husband ordered dessert, which took a little bit of time. However, the server brought the check before he received his dessert. Got seated immediately. Friendly waitress, refills kept a comin on drinks. Atmosphere was bad however, you could hear everybody and for some reason they decided to blast the football game to an unbearable loudness. Ordered an app of mozz sticks - came out fast and were pretty good. Meal itself was Iffy. Boyfriend got cowboy burger and I got a chicken sandwich. Went there with my family and had not a great experience. First of all, the host wouldn't wash our table well when we ask if they can wipe it down a little. They would come over and have a big attitude about it. Bad customer service!! The food took a long time to get to our table. It was not even busy in the restaurant at the time. Our waiter was good, came and check on us couple of times. Also, had a positive attitude. Reason for the one star was the first impression of the host, not too good at all. When I was seated my table was a little bit sticky. When the waitress took our order she stayed back and had a mask on as this is protocol due to COVID, however, I had a hard time hearing her. When I said "what" she very loudly repeated herself--but with an attitude as if I was wasting her time. My friend got a salad but no silverware and the waitress did not come back to check on us for about 15 mins. Another waitress brought us our food and got us silverware. The original server walked past but never checked on us and I had an empty water for approximately 20 mins before she came back to refill it. That was the only time she checked on us. When she brought us our checks there was a mix up. We waited another 10 minutes for her to come back so we could explain the mix up so it could be corrected. She grabbed the receipts off of our table and crinkled them up, not saying one word, and walked away with them. It took a few minutes for her to bring the corrected receipts back and when she brought them she set them down and didn't say one word. I have never had such a rude waitress anywhere I have ever been. read more

Where to begin... we waited 20 minutes from being seated to place our order so the apps would be half price, and it took 15 of those 20 minutes to get 2 limeades. Then once we placed our order with the waitress, Taylor, it took 55 minutes for our food to arrive. We asked Taylor several times what the hold up was, and all she would do was give excuses about them being busy. The restaurant was maybe 85% full at that time. My father went and got the manager, who proceeded to give us the same excuses as our waitress. He did not handle the situation appropriately at all. There was no discount on the bill and the apology was insincere. The food was mediocre and cold by the time we got it, and the limeade refills took 20+ minutes. We generally like Applebee's, but this particular restaurant will not get our business again. read more

Would give it 0 stars. Did not get greeted, when they did notice us. They turned around and just started walking us to a table. They took our drink order, got that. Put in our food order... took 45 min for a raw hamburger, mushy kids Mac and cheese (and spoiled yogurt) and a flavorless shrimp fajitas with stale tortillas and undercooked rice... considering I'm 6 months pregnant I was pretty annoyed. Oh and the waitress was extremely slow. Definitely took her time. Saw her talking to other co workers a lot. (I Felt bad for the girl she was training) Anyway. The manager came and apologized which was nice and made my husband a new (better) burger. But we just took it to go and didn't replace anything else. Still ended up paying $26.80 for I don't even know what. And the waitresses attitude was just getting worse and worse. So I definitely recommend you not wasting your time and money which sucks. Decided to eat out on New Years Eve 2012. The two young ladies running hostess duties had no idia what they were doing. For example they told everyone the wait time was 20 minutes, yet at any one time I could count no less then 3 and up to 5 empty tables. Also tables sat for a very long time before being emptied and cleaned. To add insult to injury the table we were seated at sat empty and ready the entire time we were waiting. I thought these two should have ensured all tabels were cleaned and ready in a timely manner and they did not. They continued to operate in their own little world, customers were leaving because of the delays and they continued to call names for people no longer at the resturant. Drinks from the bar took a very long time, it always seems like the bar is understaffed. Training, training and more training would correct this problem. read more

If you have food allergies especially gluten I would not recommend eating here! I have ordered off of their gluten-free menu a handful of times and always gotten sick. This was not a good choice for me for dinner. There were a swarm of flies around our table that buzzed around our food and faces. We were waving them away constantly. This was inside! The food was mediocre. I had the salmon and it was dry and tough. The garlic green beens had clump se of congealed garlic butter on them that was a weird texture. My wife, child and I just went to applebees for lunch the other day. Everytime in the past no concerns ever. This ocassion was different. Our server clearly just got off training maybe that day. We ordered our drinks it took about 15 mins. Then when we were ready to order my wife ordered deep fried shrimp, they were out. Then our server grabbed a menu gave it back so she could choose somthing else and he just stood there! So out of impulse she ordered strawberry salad... out of strawberries. Ends up getting the fajita roll. 40 mins later the bartender brought us our hard as a rock blt and cold as ice fajita roll. After we attempted to eat and stopped I asked for the check he brought it back and THEN tried to ask me about my day and small talk. Im sorry I have worked in the food industries for 9 years and watching this poor kid fail during the slow period and in his section was only us and another 2 top.. I think you guys need to make sure they are fully trained before sending them out on their own. read more

I am trying to figure out how this restaurant is still open. I heard that the servers classify you...so...I did an experiment. I dressed down and took my kids there for dinner. The service was terrible. Needless to say the server earned her tip (TIPS INSURE PROPER SERVICE). Of course I complained to the manager and he sent me the total amount of what I spent ($60). When we went back (dressed up) the server was all about waiting on us...until he found out I was using a comp card. It was all down hill from there. I tipped this server because I know having to put up with his coworkers lack of customer care must have blown...but he didn't earn it whatsoever. When my niece came to visit from Medford for dress shopping, I told her not to go to Applebee's. She didn't listen. They waited almost 2 hours for their food. Told ya so! Won't go back...but the one in Albert Lea, MN is amazing! Totally recommend that one for sure! read more
