Food tasted good and good service but now I'm home sick from food poisoning after eating the oriental chicken salad =( so miserable

Quick seating. Prompt Order delivery. Good waitress. I don't recommend the Macaroni and Cheese Pepper Chicken meal.

Well, the food was ok- up to usual Applebee's standards, but the Carside to Go service sucks. We placed our order, and drove up and parked in the Carside to Go marked spot, and waited. And waited. And waited. I could see the camera above us. But nobody came out. Finally, I sent my daughter in to get it, because I was in my jammies-- because I _thought_ I wasn't going to have to get out of my car! There went their tip... Thanks for the cold food! Next time, I'm going to the one in Rancho San Diego. They are equidistant from my house, and at Rancho San Diego, they come running right out with my food all nice and hot. So I tip them well. read more

The food was good, as usual. We made a few mistakes with our order, but our server, Adrian, quickly and happily correct the problems. After we left, I realized I forgot my credit card. I called Applebee's and talked to Adrian and he made sure the manager had my card. I'm very happy for honest people. read more

Had a late night dinner last night w my Bf. Came in around 10:30. Erika was our server. She was so attentive. When we were just getting to the end of our spinach artichoke appetizer and out of chips, I was thinking to myself, "it would be nice to have a couple more chips to get the last of this dip out." I had the munchies big time. Less than a minute later, she swoops by and asks if we want more chips. Wow...yeah! She checked in on us all through the steps of our 2/$20 deal. We got a couple of Bloody Mary's too. They were pretty good. The food was very salty and seasoned, but that's the type of food these places offer. Didn't stop us from eating most of our entrees. My guy and I did notice the weird stuff on the walls in there. It looks like blown up photos from events around town. We were sitting under a framed and spotlighted picture of 3 young girls at a game. No older than 10. One front and center screaming w her mouth wide open and 2 behind wincing. Just a weird choice for wall art! It wasn't a great picture or anything. Anyway, Erika really exceeded our expectations of service. We left feeling satisfied and taken care of. read more

Crap food over salted French fries would have been okay with less salt My wife's tortilla soup was so spice even I who likes spice could not eat it I ordered the all american burger got this thing with cooking oil all over the bun greasy meat pattie with cheese and something crunche in the meat Pickle? I had less then half the burger and very little of the FF's befor we paid our tab on the little machine on the table. Also bacon was on top of the pattie I put that to the side. No tomatoes or lettuce The artichoke dip was okay infact that was the best part of our meal Coffee was good Services was four STAR Felt bad for our server hope she can move on to a better place then Applebee's Food two stars or less My wife was given a gift card for this place She still has about $13.00 on it should have given the whole amount to our server as I don't think we will be back Maybe for a drink and the dip? We've been going here for years, food is excellent, servers are excellent, food always takes a long 27 minutes to arrive. We just stopped going here forever now because the freaking' music is so loud, we can't even hear each other. I love loud music but come on, this is a restaurant, not a night club! So, my friend had never been. Took her & my son. Ugh...the waitress was young & rude. It took almost 30 minutes to receive our boneless wings & artichoke dip. Chips were stale. Within 5 minutes out came our entrees & salads. So, we had to decide waste the appetizers or let our meals go cold. Then my steak was burned! Dry & flavorless. When I commented to the waitress, she basically rolled her eyes & walked away. I called & complained. Their mgr called back & offered a gift card if we came back. Good for him. I went there for dinner on Tuesday. Our waitress was nice and friendly her name was Bubbles. I had the riblet w/fries basket and my daughter had the chicken with shrimp. The food is good. The service was extremely slow not because they were busy but because the servers were hanging out with each other and talking to each other and basically ignoring the customers. I waited about 25 minutes for my bill and I had to flag someone down and ask for it because the servers were ignoring us. I also think the booths need to be thoroughly cleaned, they smelled and the food and dirt was extremely visible on them. I probably won't be going to that Applebee's again anytime soon. I come to this location often with my coworkers after work due to it's convenience of being in the same shopping center we work in. After a night of closing we all come here for a quick grab of appetizers. We are obsessed with their mozzarella sticks and my coworker loves the spinach and artichoke dip. This place has a great staff and we're always seated immediately. The appetizers are always out within 5 minutes! read more

I took my father for his 80th birthday lunch. We had a light lunch, the waitress seemed new or not experienced. Paid for our bill with my debit card sighned, and left a 20% tip cash. Went aboout my business. The next morning I went to balance my check book, and found that the waitress had charged my account with another $43.82, I did not sign for any additional charges. I immediately called the restuarant, and spoke w/George, he simply said that she just wasn't paying attention. I asked what he was going to do. He told me I would have to wait 3-4 days for the bank to replace my funds. I told him that it was not my fault. His response I'm SO SORRY. I drove from Pt. Loma back to El Cajon, to make sure I was going to be reimbursed. Response again I'm Sorry. Did mention they would pay for our lunch a whole $21.75. Long story I did get my money back, but I recommend you watch yours if you go to this AppleBees. Very unhappy. VERY POOR SERVICE !!!!. read more

I am not hard to please however when it comes to eating at restaurants there are tell tell signs that I look for before I spend my money. All areas of a restaurant must be clean and have a clean smell if possible. The person taking my order must be professional and courteous. The food must be to my specifications or it goes back to the kitchen. Applebees wins my taste buds and i have never been disappointed. read more

The waiter served me a diet Pepsi and than argued with me about it.. my salad was extremely small, the ribs had hardly any meet on them and my daughters mac and cheese looked as if it had been cooked in the microwave. The food was still good and service was too, but it seems like they used to be more homey and casual now they trying to be more fancy from menu choices to the presentation. The only reason they got any stars is because I have to give them one. Wish I could rate the food, but we never got to that point. My wife and I went in early on a Friday night and the place was less than half full. We were seated quickly and then we were completely ignored. At least half a dozen servers passed close by our table and a couple of different servers helped out the table next to us. Not a single one of them even acknowledged our presence. We even pressed the "call server" button on the stupid IPAD thingy on the table and set it so that anyone who looked in our general direction would have seen the flashing light on it. After more than 10 minutes had passed we decided to leave. As we were walking out the door the hostess asked us if we enjoyed hour dinner. We told her that we never got it and we weren't going to sit around any longer and be ignored. We walked out and went next door to "On The Border" were we had a great meal and fast service. Found out later from some of my friends and neighbors that they got the same treatment when they went there. I don't think I'll be going again. Ever. read more

This is where I'm coming from. If I come to your establishment, move my schedule to eat with my family, you better make it worth my time. Your standards need to be high because I'm eating food that you are serving. Before I even walk in, you need to convince me that your restaurant is worth the effort. It's all perception. As I read these 5 star reviews, I can't help but think the managers friends have been asked to review this restaurant. Maybe the locals at the bar have been asked to post a positive review, but I just didn't see it. I don't even want you to give me a refund of my money or a discount. Because of that point, it's too late. Just get it right the first time so you don't have to make excuses about how you screwed it up! The last time we were at this Applebee's was almost a year ago. The reason why we had not returned was because of the service and substandard food. I know that sometimes people have bad days, but you don't let it affect your work. We decided to give them a second try, maybe after year things have changed. Well, nothing has. We where made to wait when there where tables avalible. We were sat at tables we could have been seated in 15 minutes ago. They seem to have a lack of staff/servers, not my problem. Server appologised for entering other tables data first. I asked twice for the same drink order. Appetizers came out with no plates presented from manager There was minimal table maintenance, beverage refills, table cleanup etc. Server looked overwhelmed. No sence on ergency from the staff. No pacing of the meal. The gap between serving kids and serving the adults was 15 min. Warmer than room temp ranch dressing, notified server, and no attenpt to fix it. Other tables near us had issues as well so this was not an isolated incident. Mac n cheese pasta was ok. not the sauce. This looks like a management issue. After being in food service and managing food service, this is mostly about training and standards. The Applebee's in Rancho San Diego is much better, much more efficient and just better at what they do. I will not be returning to this Applebee's read more

Came in on Halloween night and was taken care of by a great waitress named Melanie. She was friendly, funny, fast and just a pleasure to talk with. I also spoke to the manager, Reggie. Nice guy. Great restaurant, great food. We'll be back next time we visit San Diego. read more

This location blows ass. There was no seating for happy hour at 9 on a Wednesday. You cannot order happy hour drinks unless you're in special seating which many families were occupying. Newsflash babies don't drink alcohol. Most of the parents looked like tweakers anyway and I'm not a snitch but since I hate this this location is recommend cops barge it and arrest all the parents. Also, try to order a jack and coke and you'll be rudely presented with a jack and PEPSI. And they called my girlfriend a beaner! read more
