Check# 5234392 I came to your location tonight to pick up food. I made it clear that I had a dairy allergy to Justin who took my order. I ordered a bowl and a side of brussel sprouts and specified "no cheese" He was very friendly and professional. When he took my order, he added the note to the receipt "no cheese". Once my food was ready, I double checked the order to make sure there was no cheese. As soon as I opened the Brussel sprouts, I immediately noticed there was parmesan cheese on them. I went back to Justin and showed him there was cheese. He was very apologetic and said he would have them remade immediately. While I waited for the Brussel sprouts to be remade, i noticed 2 employees in the back mocking me and Miranda said to Abraham multiple times "no cheese, no cheese, make sure there's no cheese." They both were laughing hysterically and kept glancing over at me. At this point in time, I was getting agitated that they would make a mockery of such a serious allergy. My dairy allergy is serious and I could be hospitalized if I consume dairy. After waiting another 10 mins, Justin brought over the Brussel sprouts and before handing them to me, he double checked them again. When he opened them he noticed there was still traces of parmesan cheese. Again, Justin was very apologetic and explained that the parmesan cheese must have fallen into the tomatoes. He continued to apologize and offered another side item on the menu. Just was the only professional one and provided exceptional service. As for Miranda and Abraham, they should learn to take people's allergies seriously and not make a mockery of it. Very unprofessional. "Gotta find the right flavors" Tonight me and my roommate decided to pay the California fish grill a visit! Upon entry the vibes were great. Good music, loved the wallpaper for this location. Although it was a little messy and the tables had some stains. It was still just fine to eat at. The employees here were nice and helpful too! I ordered the grilled chicken plate with cauliflower and grilled zucchini. I also got a side Caesar salad with a side shrimp kabob! I was hungry!!! My roommate got the grilled tilapia with the beans and zucchini. My plate - the chicken was cooked to completion thank goodness and had a good grill on its side. A little bit dry but what else to expect from chicken breast! The cauliflower rice was not bad either. I can definitely taste the lime they put onto it, high seasoning and the caramelized onions was a good touch. I didn't love it personally but there was plenty in quantity which is a plus. For the zucchini I think that if that rosemary was baked on it wouldn't have tasted so potent. Very strong flavor with the rosemary. I wish my zucchini was cooked a lil longer too since I had some pieces raw still. My roommates plate- tilapia was just like tilapia nothing too revolutionary. The beans were interesting with the jalapeño peppers mixed in. She wasn't not a fan. The zucchini she mentioned she had the same remarks. Shrimp skewer- delicious and deveined!!! Im so happy to see that. Not overcooked either and plenty of pieces per skewer it's worth the money. Caesar salad- very tasty fresh and cold. Yes, it was a lot of food for me!! My boyfriend order the teriyaki roll club fish with cauliflower rice with pineapple skewers!! Yes! It's a fast food seafood place, but the food is primo. The workers are friendly and they keep the place clean and well kept. It's family friendly. I went to the California Fish Grill in El Cajon around noon and lucked into a parking spot The lot is small, and is shared by several businesses. Including Dave's Hot Chicken and an In 'N Out with a drive thru. In other words, the parking lot sucks. California Fish Grill, however, does not suck. I walked in and was immediately greeted by the young gentleman, Allen, behind the counter. I placed my order for takeout. I chose the Alaskan Sockeye Salmon with chimichurri sauce, and brown rice and fries as my sides $18.24. I ordered a bottle of Pacifico to enjoy while I waited $5.99. Becky's choice was the Dynamite Shrimp Bowl with brown rice. $15.24 While waiting for my food I noticed that Fire Roasted Street Corn was an available side and immediately regretted ordering the fries. When I tasted the fries, my buyer's remorse was even worse. The salmon was very good. Two fairly thick filets with skin on, grilled nicely. Not dried out at all, the meat was flaky and flavorful. The chimichurri was good, but I think I would have preferred the Sweet Chili Glaze or Garlic Butter. The rice was on point. Both generous portions. The fries were a disappointment. First of all, I wish that they would have packaged them separately from the fish and rice. They were just sort of tossed in there and after the 10 or so minute drive home, they were pretty soggy. The air fryer made them better, but they still weren't great. They had zero seasoning. I had to salt them myself. The Dynamite Shrimp Bowl was dynamite! Both Becky and I would totally order it again. It was loaded with plump shrimp. the sauce they were cooked in was excellent. It had a great back-end heat to it. Really good dish and a large portion. I order from this restaurant nearly every day of the week and with the experience I had today, I will never go back. Today I ordered online the same entree I order everyday and saw that there was an offer for a free soft drink with the purchase of an entree. For some reason I was unable to redeem the free drink promotion, so I took a screenshot of this error and showed the team up front as soon as I arrived to pick up my order. As soon as I showed them this, they immediately gave me attitude saying that the free drink promotion could only be redeemed in person. I asked for the manager as this information was inaccurate per the order option on the CFG app. The manager came out of her office and was incredibly rude to me and told me I had to pay the $3.50 for the drink no matter what. She told me despite the error I received I still need to pay for the drink promotion. From there I left with my food disgusted with the customer service I experienced. As soon as I got home, I opened the bag of food and realized the restaurant forgot my fries. I called the store letting them know I need to speak with the manager on duty, however as soon as she picked up the phone, she was super rude. She told me I could redeem a free order of fries when I come back. I told her that option does not make sense to me because everytime I order I get the salmon entree which comes with the option for fries, so why would I get an extra set of fries... Then I just proceeding on politely requesting a partial refund to cover the fries portion of the order, but the manager hung up the phone on me saying that I was rude to request this. I called back for a second time because I found it strange for a restaurant to treat me with such disrespect and continue to be rude to me. The manager proceeded to hang up on me for a second time, without even speaking with me. For a third time I called back and spoke with a male manager on the floor and he told me he would give me a partial refund for the entree. Which I have not even received the refund yet. The costumer service in the front was great. My husband had told them that he accidentally messed up his order at the kiosk and they were gladly fixed and replace his correct side. Because he put salad instead of french fries so we highly appreciate that. What i didn't appreciate is that, they gave me left over and smaller batter fish on my 2 tacos on the left plate. We always come here and i know they always give us full size battered fish on each taco. Well not this time.
