We were promptly seated by the hostess tonight, which, as you can see from my previous review, is not always the case. We were seated in the bar area, which concerned me a little because that often means the server is also bartending. That was the case tonight, but fortunately for us, Alyssa was absolutely fantastic! You would never have known she was also tending bar, especially considering the entire bar area was full. She was very friendly, attentive, and kept our drinks full throughout the evening. Honestly, this was some of the best service I've received anywhere in a very long time, and we eat out A LOT! Alyssa was so amazing that my husband asked to speak with her manager just to make sure she received the recognition she deserved. I'm sure managers usually hear more complaints than compliments, so it's important to give praise when it is truly warranted. The food was also extra good tonight. We ordered the Campfire Feast for Two and started with the burnt ends guacamole and chips. It was so flavorful and delicious, and the chips were fresh and really good too. My husband and I both ordered the New York strip, and both steaks were cooked perfectly as ordered. The salads were good, and we also enjoyed the asparagus and corn on the cob. We finished with the chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream, which was fresh and yummy too. Alyssa made the entire experience wonderful, and the food made the night even better. This place is pretty depressing . I admit I haven't been here in years and I certainly don't remember this restaurant being so depressing and needing a remodel so desperately. Aside from the worn out dining room another thing that was really offputting was the server. Our server was pretty awkward and not very good. I ordered a cocktail that took 20 minutes to arrive and once it finally arrived the ice was melted and it tasted terrible. I will say this he did replace the cocktail but what was weird is he didn't care, he didn't say sorry , there was no accountability really almost making it feel like I was being a Karen . That feeling was really uncomfortable. I didn't find it relaxing dining experience.. The food was OK . Not terrible not amazing. Just OK. I noticed they have a brunch menu, which actually sounded pretty good because there isn't any brunch spots in the area. I think I might give them one more chance by trying the brunch and hoping for a much better server.. if that experience is better, I will update my review. read more

We arrived and were seated near the bar area where our server was Nicholas, who is also the bartender. Nick was very attentive to us the entire time. The food was amazing and the service was excellent. We had their Wagyu Dumplings, Carne Asada Potato Skins, and Loaded Potato Skins for appetizers. Nick made sure we got everything perfect as ordered and kept us all topped off on our drinks and offered us more bread when we ran out. When our food came, he made sure that the steaks were cooked exactly to our liking. Everything was perfect. Our meals were the Steak Shrimp and Lobster Trio, my wife got her steak extra well done and I got mine medium rare. The meals were incredible. We've been to this Black Angus twice now for Happy Hour in the bar area. We were greeted and seated promptly both times and the service from Andy is phenomenal -- he is attentive and kind with an excellent memory. The food and drink has been great and we really like the wide variety of dessert options as well. It's a very chill atmosphere which is nice too. This location might feel dated or whatever, but I'll take old school every day of the week if it means caring about the service you provide and the food you make. I first started going to Black Angus in the 90's.  They had the best baked potato soup I had ever had.  I loved the mix of flavors from the bacon, potatoes and cream.  This visit I ordered 2 baked potato soups with no sour cream and cheese.  I noticed the recipe has changed.  Back in the old days the thickness of the soup was soup like.  Now it's more like pudding.  The flavor was not as good either.  My second bowl of soup the flavor was terrible.  Tasted a sour flavor like they snuck in the sour cream. The bread was another favorite of mine.  It had fresh baked aroma and full of flavor.  The bread looks the same but I didn't detect the fresh baked aroma.  Instead I had the feeling it was blasted in the microwave to warm it.  Flavor seemed milder than the old days. Waitress recommended I try the limited time only specials.  The photo of the grilled lamb chops was tempting.  I ordered it and the reality was quite different from the photo.  The photo showed 3 big lamb chops filling half the plate.  The lamb chops were only the bone portion.  When I get a chop I hold onto the bone part to eat the meat part.  Using my hands I still found it difficult to eat the meat around the bone.  The meat surrounding the bone was tender and juicy.  I loved the flavor of the lamb and seasoning but there was not a ton of meat on this dish. Service was friendly and efficient.  I don't know about visiting again.  My soup order was either messed up or they now sometimes make it with a nasty sour flavor.  Black Angus was once great but now it's more just ok. read more

Walking into the restaurant I had very low expectations as the parking lot was empty and i've heard from friends and coworkers that this place has gone down over the past couple years. the blonde host girl was very sweet and welcoming and was able to seat me right away. everything was going good so far the food was okay and our server was also very sweet and attentive. it was until we were getting ready to leave when we were overhearing one of the female managers with dark hair being extremely rude to one of the host and we felt so bad she seemed so sweet and she looked very uncomfortable and sad. Seeing this made us feel a certain type of way because it doesn't feel right for managers to be so rude to their employees since they are the ones doing the job. This restaurant needs to drastically improve their behavior and maybe add more food options to the menu. read more

I wanted to take my husband out to a nice steak dinner for his birthday, so we went to Black Angus. We arrived at 5:15pm and we were seating immediately in a very comfortable booth. Right away, I could see how dated this restaurant still is. Even though they have definitely tried to spruce it up with new paint and some new decorations, they have alot of staining on the ceiling tiles and rips on the booth seating. At first our server was very friendly and got our drinks quickly but he was disappointing overall. We decided to get the campfire feast for 2 for $69, which we thought was a pretty good deal. We ordered the crab cakes for our appetizer, I ordered a 12 oz new york strip with mushrooms on top and with au gratin potatoes and garden salad as the sides, my husband ordered a 12 oz ribeye(which was a $7 add on charge) with onions on top, au gratin potatoes and Mac & cheese as the sides. Our server informed us that the crab cake appetizer would take a little longer than the other appetizers, we decided to still get them and wait for them. While we waited, the server brought over a small loaf of their molasses bread with butter, the bread was very tasty even though some of the edges were hard. Our crab cakes finally came out about 15-20 minutes later and they were worth the wait, they were so flavorful. We noticed it was taking a while for our entrees to come out, some of the tables around us got their food before us and they arrived after us. Our server came by to let us know that the entrees were taking longer than mormal and asked if we wanted to order a salad or soup to eat while we wait. By the time our food finally arrived to the table, we had been at the restaurant over an hour. The food arrived at the table but I informed the food runner that I never got my garden salad(which I assume was supposed to come out with the appetizer a while ago). They then brought out my salad accompanied with a extremely cold fork that was too cold to use, I ended up just using my other fork. The server did come by and apologize for forgetting to bring out my salad earlier. Our steaks were both delicious and very good quality. My husband let me know that the au gratin potatoes and Mac & cheese tasted the exact same, like they used the same cheese sauce for both of them. The au gratin potatoes were strange because the pieces of the potatoes were so small rather than the typical slices of potatoes but was pretty good. My garden salad was a large salad but a pretty basic salad. My husband got a free cookie dessert with some ice cream on top free for his birthday, the server came out with a candle in the cookie and we sang happy birthday to my husband. Our campfire feast came with a dessert, so we got a creme brulee. The creme brulee was pretty tasty. Overall, the food was delicious but the service was mediocre at best. Our server was not staying on top of our drink refills and it seemed like the delay in our food was due to him forgetting to put in our order. While we were waiting over an hour for our entrees, we did not see our server at all. I noticed a manager saw us waiting but they never once came by to check on us or offer a discount at all. I ordered at 7:21 and dinner arrived at 7:48. My steak was cooked perfectly. The lobster tail was generous and I got au gratin potatoes and mac n cheese. Everything was super delicious. There was no melted butter for the lobster tail. I could have used more cocktail sauce, the container wasn't even half full. And some napkins and utensils would be nice.
