I haven't been out in a long time, but today was my wife's 69th birthday, she decided that we should go to Applebee's and enjoy some food and a couple beers. after ordering our drinks and food, we met our server, Jamie. you totally entertained us with her unfiltered humor that kept us entertained as well as fed. I can tell you that I totally enjoyed getting out and talking to Jamie as we're eating and drinking our meal. very refreshing and enjoying in the bar the time, my wife and I spent there. Yesterday I went and I had the best customer service ever (I believe his name was Marvin or Martin or something like that) he was in the bar area ! We went around 5ish and he told us about the happy hour sales. He always made sure we had our drinks coming ! He made to get our food out fast and quickly. Tipped him $15! This customer service makes date nights so much better because we don't have to get disappointed in service. My wife and I decided to come here to try the all you can eat chicken wings. They have quite a selection and the pictures look great. We were disappointed when the chicken wings showed up to the table. These really aren't chicken wings, they are more like chicken nuggets. They don't taste badly, but all you can taste is salt. The staff was very friendly, the manager was very sweet and understanding (I didn't catch his name) but unfortunately they only offered to remake our food and take off one of our desserts. So we took advantage of your mobile app offer of the Burger Bundle. 2 Whiskeys and a Bacon cheeseburger. I often wonder how you make any money on these offers. And tonight Applebee's in Hemet showed us how! The Whiskey burgers were no way even close to the pictures. Onion rings were the size of a mans finger ring! The size of a nickle, pathetic! 6 of them! The BBQ sauce was the size of a half dollar coin. When the top bun was put on the burger was half the size of the picture on your site! Talk about "Bait and Switch"! Pretty hard to mess up fries, but Hemet did their best, cooked extra long, like eating toothpicks! The "Lemonade drink was nothing more then water with a slight lemon flavoring, very slight... Sure glad we didn't pay extra for pickle, lettuce, onion or tomato, hate to see what we would have received, if anything at all!! And the Beaumont CA location does not charge extra for those items. Guess Hemet has to nickle and dime the locals. Anyway I understand now how Applebee's makes $$ on these promotions. Make the customer take home the product so they won't bring it back. Skimp on the ingredients, to cut food costs, charge extra for items that even In-N-Out give for free. Don't put much of any condiments (BBQ sauce) on the dry buns. Is this a true representation of what we would get if we dined inside? Because I would have sent it all back and walked out!! So the "Back of the House" manager approves all meals? SAD!! G-H-E-T-T-O I see why they have barely any stars.......go further west to INO So, Need to understand, This is HEMET, and the quality of employees available may be scarce. The best are probably working somewhere else. Management can only do so much especially since this is a franchise operation (?). We've been longtime customers of this Hemet location. Mom lives in the area and this is our go-to place to take her. Service has always been very good and so is the food. Kind of hooked on the crispy chicken oriental salad. Just be patient, these times are hard on most restaurants. Short staffed or new hires, but they are trying their hardest. It's been a very long time since I've ate at an Applebees, and this location didn't disappoint. I came with a friend for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon. It wasn't too packed, and service was amazing. The girls we had were very attentive, communicative, and kind. We enjoyed our meal! I got the $10 lunch meal. Two shrimp tacos, that came with lots of chips and salsa. We were seated right away but the booth was next to a window and it was 101 outside and we were feeling no air at that table. Asked to be moved to a table which was much better. We ordered two drinks (wine) and since we were hungry we also placed our food order. The waitress left no place settings and no napkins. After about 10 minutes she returns with our salads and almost leaves without giving us any place settings. Finally ready to eat our salad and now they place a huge party within one foot of our table. Could they put the seats any closer. The service was absolutely terrible, restaurant had poor air conditioning and when we complained about the service the manager had nothing but excuses. I really didn't need to know all her problems as she told me more excuses. They charged us for 4 drinks and we only had two. After some time Jamie the bartender corrected our bill for us. She was the nicest employee we encountered during our visit. I doubt if we will ever return to that Applebees. I believe they have new managers and it's not great. The food was good however. We've been to the Hemet location often and have had some good experiences, but that has not been the case for our last few times there. We went the last time on Dec. 16, at 4:30pm we were seated right away. We looked over the menu and waited for our wait person to come get our drink order. Twenty minutes later, we were still waiting- 4 staff were waiting on other tables but not one addressed us. Another couple, who were seated after us, were attended to- but not us. Needless to say, we left Applebees and went to a different restaurant. Not sure when/if we will return. It seems staff is not as well trained as they once were, and really don't care about getting orders correct, or getting orders at all.. read more

We ordered the 2 for 27 *bbq ribs with artichoke dip, love the dip! Fries were to crispy and thin... Ordered tortilla soup: too chunky and too thick The chicken tenders were good. I had the tacos with the thin onion rings, the meat was too mushy and too sweet!! Wasn't a fan, a little more spice and actual shredded meat required..not mushy!! The cocktails and appetizers were really good! But, my well done steak was terrible. It was dry and very rubbery.

The food there is disgusting. The pizza tastes uncooked many things are wrong there. The workers are slow like turtle speed. It took almost an hour to get their pre-cooked food. When it says Applebee's in the name, it means no apples and no bees because the only thing that's apple there is the unsweetened applesauce, which I don't recommend. It tastes like if you dipped apples in coffee creamer. Plus the workers are just running around dillydallying and playing with their Dwayne The Rock Johnson cardboard cutout and they're yapping in the front, like give this baby over here his crayons, but they never have crayons!!! They give you a kids coloring book with no crayons. What do you expect I just have crayon sitting in the bottom of my bag? The workers will walk past your table, aiming the food at your face, and then walk to the next table. When I'm about to try my food, because it was too hot when I first got it, so about five minutes later I went to try it and the workers came up to me asking "how's everything tasting?" like I don't know. As much as I love Applebee's & order at least 7+ times a month, I have to find a new food place. I've expressed (w/photos) my concerns that every time I order steaks or burgers well done, they're not well done, instead they're rare. That's not acceptable. Applebee's has a very tasty menu! I enjoy their food selections, appetizers, etc. It has been my 1st choice for years. In my new location, outta 4 neighborhood restaurants, they were still my 1st choice. I've attached 3 individual photos, submitted to Applebee's, to show what was ordered vs what was received, during 3 separate visits. We've been to Applebees numerous times. This was our second or third time at the Hemet Applebees. The food was its usual fantastic. We are used to great service at Applebees but we're disappointed this time. Although the food was great the service was horrible. I would write it off to the server having a bad day and would not post a two star review if our server was the only issue. Once the food came we didn't see our server for drink refills until the end of the meal as we were preparing to pay the bill. Several staff, bus boy, hostess, and a person believed to be a manager, walked by and saw our empty glasses at the edge of the table. A couple sitting at a table across from us had commented on the low level of service. I understand that good customer service is becoming a thing of the past and good help is hard to find, but it's frustrating being on the receiving end of it. We are going to continue eating at Applebees because of the great food and usual good service. We may not return to the Hemet location because fortunately their are Applebees restaurants throughout Riverside County... read more

Walked in to a half busy restaurant. No greeting. Hostess came to front grabbed menus and we followed only to find she was taking them to an existing table. Embarrassed we returned to lobby. Still no greeting she led us into the restaurant where there were a number of dirty booths and were directed and then redirected to a table in the middle of a pathway. When we asked for an empty booth we were told that section couldn't take any more guests as it had just had a table sat. Still no greeting we were told if we wanted a booth we would need to wait as there were no clean ones in a section where a server was not busy. Sigh. We walked out and likely will not return. I've been here 4 times, twice in 2020 outdoors, puppy companion and COVID style, once in 2021 Christmas time, and 2021 January. Each time has been exactly the same,, excellent service, fresh prepared quality food, reasonable priced, all 3 times ordered the 2 for $25 dinner special, one with steak, good quality each item. Surprised by their house Cabernet was mild and fruity. I was so turned off by the manager 6-7 years ago at the Murrieta location, I never returned to any Applebee's until I moved to Hemet. I am so disappointed in my experience today. I have been going here for years with the understanding that if there is an NFL game in progress happy hour promotions apply. Today, Monday January, 15 was Wild Card playoff game day and I was excited to enjoy some Won Ton Tacos and Sweet Chili Boneless wings. We arrived around 2:00 and requested to sit in the bar and the hostess told us no problem to go ahead and grab a table. 4 tables were available so we approached one and almost immediately we were intercepted very abruptly by a rude voice saying "NO this table is dirty!" We looked and observed it was not...... so we said it's ok we'll wait for it to be wiped off.... the same rude lady said "No, you can't sit here it's only seating at the bar right now!" Confused we said ok and sat at the bar. We Literally waited 17 mins for the same rude lady to appear behind the bar and asked if we were ready to order. As we started to order she told us happy hour did not apply because it's playoff football not regular season!!!!!!!! I was in shock! Why would that make a difference? At this point we were so annoyed we just settled and ordered. I saw the name tag on the bartender/rude lady was Jaime. From this point forward Jaime continued to deny anyone sitting in the bar, she was rude to other staff, she was literally and very loudly complaining to customers about having to work a day shift and it being a busy day, But there was only 3 tables with people and 3 people at the bar ...... she told the hostess not to let anyone in the bar. Meanwhile she's asking the hostess to clear tables and serve drinks for her, then complained about the same hostess being incompetent. Multiple times she returned just to complain about her job, about other staff, and having to help customers. Then she started complaining about her personal life, having to bake cake pops for a party when Starbucks charges $3 per cake pop. After we received our food I hear Jamie tell another customer she will honor Happy Hour prices. I am so appalled, disgusted, and offended. This lady should not be in any type of customer service. Absolutely worst service. Management was GREAT! The help argued me down about my order and then when it came out it was WRONG (even though he swore I was wrong) The food was cold, but the margarita was delicious. Wouldn't come back unless I'm dying of hunger and no one else is open. Smh. Wish Applebees hired more friendly staff. I actually had to go get my own drink because the waiter refused to stop at our table. He stopped at EVERY table around us except ours. Saddest thing, I wasn't being g difficult, I just asked if I can switch a liquor out, and he caught an attitude, rolling his eyes and being rude.
