Hemet Applebees is one of my favorite places in town and this decision is not solely based on their food, but the service they provide and their dedication to the community with their flapjack fundraisers. We have had a few of these fundraisers here for the local community pantry and they're always a hit. The food is great and the employees are even better. It's really nice to have a place like this in town that is so willing to give back. We decided to stop in for dinner tonight and had some really great service from "Brenda" we meant to take the survey, but accidentally x'd out too fast, so I decided to come on here and give her some kudos. I arrived at the restaurant at 5:05 pm and used the link in the app to notify them of my presence. A young man came out to ask what name it was under. I gave them my wife's name and the order number and he walked away. He returned shortly to say he could not find the order and I gave him the order number once more. He disappeared again. My wife had to call at 5:40, almost an hour after placing the order and more than 30 minutes after the promise time. A woman named Beth came out to ask for the order number a third time! When I teased her about losing our order, she snarked back, "This is the first time I heard of this." and left. A couple of minutes later, the young man I dealt with 35 minutes before showed up with the order. I asked him if it was now cold since it had been sitting so long. He assured me it had been refired and was fresh. It was not, he lied. The fries were cold and limp, the broccoli was hard and gray. The potatoes were stone cold and tasteless. The rib eye sandwich, which for its size is not worth 14 bucks, was both burnt AND cold. Who accomplishes that by accident? I reported this glorious meal to their head office, although I am quite sure I wasted over 50 dollars (plus a tip, regretting that) for food that was half thrown out. Here we go.... Standing at the podium with my family waiting for over 5min on a non busy Monday 1pm. So we decide to seat ourself and one of the waiters has the nerve be a smart ass and say "There isn't self seating here"....hahaha, ok? Visiting the area for Spring Break from the Bay Area to see family.. I just wanted a steak after a long day on the road and unwind with a nice meal. Took 10mins to be seated, never received a glass of water, a acknowledgment, nothing. I walked out 15mins after being seated. Said it would be 45-1hr which I expected since the play off game was on and it was Sunday, I figured it would be busy and a delay to receive delivery. However, never received my order at all. Called to Grubhub and they cancelled and provided me a $10.00 credit. Great, but that's less than what I paid for the whole meal. Hands down this is the best Applebee's I have ever been too and I do not go very often, food was great, every one was very friendly and I truly enjoyed myself. Shout-out to manager Emilio and Jeanette this morning for our school's second Flapjack Fundraiser with them. Setting up the program was easy. Everyone was helpful and accommodating. The food--not their typical fare!--was well-cooked, our students took turns greeting, serving and bussing tables. Customer service was tops all the way from beginning to end. We plan to do another one next year, and I'm hoping to talk my dance studio into doing at least one, as well. As for their regular fare, the food has always been tasty, and our servers courteous. I prefer this restaurant to other chain restaurants in the area. read more

Last night my husband and I went on a date night, Rachael is a "ROCK STAR", best service we've ever had "ANYWHERE"! Big smile, personality plus, funny, fast and Shines! My husband and I really live Applebee's! My favorites are the Quesadilla Burger and the yummy French onion soup. The appetizer Won Ton tacos are absolutely crave worthy. The wait staff is kind and efficient, especially Wendy who always recognizes us right away and always does a wonderful job. My son and daughter in law ordered two martini drinks from the bar and they had lipstick kisses on them. My margarita was made wrong. My dish had an item on it that i requested to be on the side because im allergic. Entrees arrived at all different times. And came out way before the appetizers. It was just all around a not so good experience tonight. We come to this location at least once a month and always enjoy ourselves. Hopefully next time will be better. And no we weren't compensated for anything. We went to celebrate my moms birthday at least her meal and desert were fine. On another note a patron notice my son drop some money by his chair as i did and quickly bypassed me with her walker and bent down, picke it up and crumpled it up in her hand i guess to conceal it......I said excuse me, thats ny son's money. I never go inside this place because it's always way too crowded, but I'm a fan of the curbside pickup. It's quick, easy, and a great way to get a good meal that is not "fast food." You just call 951-791-2506 and place your order. Then pull up to the marked parking spots and within a few minutes, the packaged food is delivered to you car. If you use this service, don't be a cheapskate! The curbside server has to package up all your food and lug it out to your car. He or she deserves a reasonable tip! read more

Normally we get good service at Applebees but not this afternoon. We arrived at 4:30 and they were not busy. We got a table very quickly and ordered our drinks. After receiving our drinks we placed our orders and after this the service was terrible. It took forever for the seven of us to get our order. My order finally arrived but only half of the order.....waited a long time for the rest of it. By the temperature of the food it appeared it had been sitting in the kitchen and no one brought it out. My family and myself walked into Applebees today in Hemet. We were first in, with a family behind us. I was a few feet in front of the hostess whose name is "STEPHANIE" she looked over to the family behind us and asked the lady if they were first? Clearly we had walked in first and I was right in front of her. I can't help but to feel discriminated against considering I'm a mixed race woman, and the woman she asked was a younger Hispanic woman. Stephanie happens to be Hispanic as well. Why would she look right past me and ask the other lady if they were there first? If she genuinely didn't know who was first then ask "May I ask who was first". But to treat me as if I had jumped in front of the other woman, cutting In front of her. Not even an apology , just snide attitude, trying to tell my husband to calm down. It's soo sad that Great customer service is few and far between. I can only hope that when "STEPHANIE" is out and about she doesn't encounter discrimination, it's a very unpleasant feeling. "STEPHANIE" if you're reading this, thing is you need to take accountability for your words and your actions. Acknowledging that you were in the wrong and making someone feel uncomfortable and discriminated against. Absolutely unacceptable, mishandled, snide, and unprofessional. Very disappointing experience today. Curbside service was awful. Arrived 5 minutes early and waited an additional 5 minutes after scheduled pickup time, still no one came out. Went inside, could see the cooks and called out 3 times fir service. Finally someone from the bar came through the door and I asked for help. My food had been sitting on the back counter all packaged and ready. No apologies. Food was cold and fries were hard either over cooked or stale. We use carside to go frequently but, now are rethinking. read more

Walked out before I could even order because when I walked in there was two black women waiting to be seated, I asked how long they had been waiting to be acknowledged and they said quite a while. Not even a minute after we walked in (I'm white, my girlfriend is Latina) the white greeter who's name I didn't catch beelines for us and offers to seat us to which I pointed out they were their first and he seats them at a bar table (he seemed annoyed to even be dealing with them) then promptly gets us to a booth table without us even asking. The girls asked to be moved to a booth which he did eventually. He wasn't actually a peach with us either but it was clear he was playing favorites with white guests and had a worse attitude towards them. Didn't even order, we just left. It was hard for me to watch and really threw off the feel of the place as a whole. Made the experience icky. read more

I was just passing through Hemet with friends and we stopped in here. As a Vegan, eating at restaurants isn't always easy and people tend to give you the stink eye if you ask them to make you something Vegan not off the meal. I asked the Host Yonathan questions about the menu and he said that he didn't know but very politely said he would get somebody who could answer my questions. The Kitchen Manager Jimmy comes out and has a smile and enthusiasm. He genuinely wanted to take care of my needs and made it a priority. This place was very busy too! He made me some potato fajita style tacos and rice that was amazing! Our Server Hannah is awesome too! There was 5 of us and she was on top of our needs the whole time. The service we had here today could transfer to a 5 Star Restaurant. I don't usually Yelp for places without getting exceptional service that goes above and beyond. read more

I ordered on the curb pick up menu and called them to say that I would be an extra 20 minutes. When I arrived my food was not ready and it was another 15 minutes because they had apparently gotten a rush. It was very frustrating to drive an hour to get somewhere and have your order not be ready. They shrugged and said it got busy. This being my favorite applebees went in for my birthday it was right before 9pm many empty tables and booths. There was no one welcoming which I didn't mind waiting a minute to be helped then someone comes sounded welcoming and with a smile. After asking if we prefer booth or table he walked away I assume it was to check where we would be seated, comes back and says the server thinks they're done but no walks back comes back a few times. I am not sure what the problem was seemed like they had no server or they just didn't want to take us after waiting a while and a few trips of the hostess we decided to leave.
