The service is terrible. Every time I come here it takes about 15 minutes for our server to come get our order for drinks, and another 30 minutes for them to come back for our meal order. After 40 minutes waiting on our food my steak was over cooked. Recommend going to the Applebee's in copperas cove instead for better service and food. read more

Out of all the places that call themselves something with "wings" on the end. You cannot beat the flavor of Applebee's hot wings. The best I've tasted in the area. Not to mention the sweet and spicy baby back ribs. Finger licking good. read more

Came here on a Sunday afternoon around lunch time, and asked if myself and wife could be seated on the patio as the weather was really nice and the hostess said sure and proceeded to show us to our table, once outside she said our server would be with us. After of about 10 minutes of waiting on a server to come take our order we finally got up and left. We took our business to the Garage that has a ton of outdoor seating and has a wait staff that took our order in a timely manner. read more

This Applebee's has a severe problem with it's curbside to go system. It doesn't exist. I over the phone, give the color of my vehicle, wait 10mins after time I was told to arrive and had to go inside. For one, the staff makes you feel awkward for walking inside and walking by the to go/bar area to inquire about my order. Staff is short, rude and makes you feel unwelcome. Apparently she had had a wild night because she was pretty busy talking to her friend about partying the night before. Basically I feel like I'm going to ask to talk to the manager next time if customer service doesn't change. I asked for a menu for the specials for Veterans Day, the hostess asked if I was military and handed me the menu. I came back and went to order and they told me to go to the back and order. She rang me up and told me the total and I said I was In the service. Then she said uggh no we can't do that. That It had to be a dine in in order to get the discount. So I went to the front and asked why, they said it was advertised that way and they technically can't give to go boxes to military. I would have been fine with that since it was advertised that in order to get the discount I would have to dine in. However, it was the way I was abruptly told no and felt I was in the wrong. We've been to this Applebee's quite a few times and I must say their service has always been great. I'm a bit disappointed that their rating on here is a bit low. Last night our server was wonderful! Meh....it was ok. The fries were limp and our silverware was dirty. On the plus side, our waitress was truly sweet and attentive.

They had good service, but the place was so dirty ... The bathrooms were so disgusting, the tables were dirty and the floors were so filthy. I ordered French onion soup and a 4 cheese Mac n cheese sweet chicken and bacon platter. Fast service, got my plate fast. The French Onion soup was nothing special it had a good flavor. My pasta was actually cold, pieces were frozen. There was little to no cheese in it. I did tell the girl I was not happy with it, I changed to their sandwich. The sandwich was just not what I wanted by this time I was not impressed. I only ate a bite. Tamara took a dollar off my meal. (Club grilled). Left pretty disappointed. I honestly don't think I will go back to Applebee's!!! We went out to have a quick dinner. The restaurant was not busy. We were seated and it took forever for someone to wait on us! When our drinks came, there were two pieces of ice in the glass that melted in minutes of receiving the drinks. Then it was another 20 minutes before we were waited on. The waitress kept apologizing for the wait. We both ordered medium steaks and veggies! Waited another 30 minutes and when we got our steaks, they were so well done, we could barely chew them! Nothing medium about them. The veggies, which we paid extra, did not come out all together as they burned half of them, so we received 4 pieces of veggies and were told the rest would be out shortly. We ate and the veggies never did come out. Again, more apologies from the waitress and then asked us if we wanted them to go. We said No! It really was not a Great experience! The business seems to be wearing down as well! The booth seat was ripped up, the table top has been carved up, and just an overall run down feeling! read more

This evening's visit to the Killeen Applebee's was our worst restaurant experience in quite some time. We were seated promptly and THAT was the highlight of our meal. We ordered and received our drinks and then placed our dinner order. We then waited.....and waited....and waited.....as our glasses got emptier and the ice melted. Half an hour later our food arrived with an apology from our server that our grilled vegetables were over-cooked and replacements would be coming. (The vegetables were, in fact, quite raw.) The grilled vegetables, for which we were billed $1.79 extra consisted of 2 quarter-sized pieces of bell pepper, 1 slice of zucchini, and 2 slices of yellow squash. We both also had a side of broccoli mush which had been billed as "steamed broccoli." We each had steaks, mine was ordered medium and my wife ordered hers medium-well. Mine was served well-done and my wife's VERY well-done. Both our steaks were so dry, they were difficult to chew. My wife reached for the ketchup bottle on our table to add lubrication to her steak......"pfffflllllTTttttt...." empty bottle. We were done. Our server came back to remind us replacement veggies were still on the way, but we declined since we were finished eating. Never did we get drink refills and we had to wait forever for the check...... Had Dante ever visited this Applebee's location, Hell would probably have had a 10th circle. read more

Applebees... one of my favorite places to eat... let me just say.. the service is Spectacular! Our server was Big James... He is the kindest server I think I have encountered in a very long time. He knows how to make you smile and feel welcome in the establishment. I ordered a steak and ask for medium but it was medium well ALMOST well done... typically thin would piss me off, but James is such a kind spirit that I wasn't as upset at all infact I told him about it and rather than making excuses or being irrational he said "oh noooo, I'm sorry let me fix that for you" took my steak and quickly got me a new one... Big James is the type of person all establishments should look for in a wait staff. Some people you can tell they hate their Jobs.. Not James he was happy to help us and very sweet about it... I used to be a server my self and that's how you earn you $$.. you smile and be kind and you keep your customers happy.. I'm a decent tipper on a regular basis but very rarely do I tip well over the standard rate of my check... he deserved it!! He should get a raise too or a bonus at least. I don't know if the management staff knows this about him but is he FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This place would get a 3 star because I love my steak and when it's not cooked right that is a big no no... but because of James I still give it 5 STARS... My husband and I ate there yesterday (6-28-2011) and it was awful!!! The waitress didn't bring our tea until we ask twice. My husband didn't get what he ordered. Our rice was dry and hard. I ask for a side order of guacamole, never got it,( but was charged for it). I had to ask for ice for my tea. When we ask for our ticket, it took forever. It made for a horrible afternoon. I was so upset with my husband for not saying something. He hurried me out because I was so mad. He even left a tip because he justed wanted out of there!!!!! We will NEVER eat at an applebees again! Literally the best service I've had in Texas. Food was very delicious and my drink was never empty.

The host of the evening was interested in 2 things: the TV, and the young chix coiming in. After I got his attention and got to a table, I waited while he wiped up the food bits. Would have been nice to have a quick callback, but I found the silverware and napkins that were not on my table. The callback when I was exactly 1/2 done with my meal. Was I ready for my dessert was shouted across the back corner to me, tho I had stacked my empty plates to so indicate. Meanwhile Mr Hand-in-his Pickets mostly stood observing, but did not seem to notice: the host not doing much, dirty dishes sitting on tables for 20min, my waiter mostly absent from the whole floor. I like Applebees as a chain restaurant: I know I can expect good food, typically well- prepared, usually served by upbeat folks trying to make sure they earn their tips. This location is good, the food is good- Mr Hands-in-Pockets needs some coaching on how to look at the floor and what to do with what he sees. I've been in Killeen for six years now and i vowed to never go to Applebees again after my first two trips back in 2007. After feeling like i've been to every sit down joint in this city i decided to pull up their online menu and see what has changed since i last visited. Oh my Wow!! The menu is soooo much better than i remembered. I couldn't wait to sink my teeth in the honey pepper chicken and shrimp 2/$20 combo. I ordered a hot tea (yeah it's freezing in there) and the cup had some form of green stuff on the side of it so i refused to drink it, my waitress gave me a cleaner appearing cup and I was good to go. The food was freakin' fabulous! I dined in on Fri and had it to go on Saturday and Sunday night. I'm a fan again Applebees. I wrote you off for so long because of you're boring menu, i'm glad to see you've taken into consideration your guests who don't like fried everything with cheese smothered on it. read more

I'm giving 3 stars simply because our food was pretty darn good. I read some reviews and fully expected our service to be great and the food to be horrible but for us it was the other way around. After our waitress skipped over our table twice to tend to another table that was sat well after us (I can only guess it was because they were her friends or because they appealed to her more than we did - but thats an entirely different story). She was very short with us and not very attentive. Having worked in the service industry, I hate when wait staff asks "What do you want?" rather than "Have you had time to look over the menu?" I thought this was part of training. Oh well. Anyway, the sweet potato fries appetizer was great and it came out hot. Our food - Shrimp and broccoli pasta was great, though the shrimp was a little peppery for our taste and the Nappa chicken portabello was amazing! As we were ejoying our food, I overheard a hostess speaking very negatively about another employee. It made me pretty uncomfortable...uncomfortable enough to let the manager know. I don't know what happened to the original Applebees menu but these choices are not palatable. While I did enjoy the spinach and artichoke dip as my appetizer and my waitress was friendly and cordial, there's some work that needs to be addressed. I was prompted for another Arnold Palmer with haste and the earthquake dessert was pretty slamming too but I wasn't happy with the red skinned mashed potatoes taste or the steamed veggies. I'm not too picky but I don't like my plate to have a tiny puddle of water in it. Next time please strain the veggies thoroughly. The 9 oz sirloin steak was cooked medium and was pretty good with some A1 sauce but nothing amazing. The three cheese chicken penne also needs work too. It has a watered down sauce that makes for a boring dish. I often think about the movie "WAITING" when I want to send something back so I have to chock this one to the game. I might return but only for dessert or appetizers in the future. read more

I have been in the area for four years and I have visited this Applebee's for many occasions such as the place my children love to go for there birthdays. I was so disappointed in the current trip we had to your resturant. This was our first time going there this year and the customer service, from the beginning, was outrageous. The waitress we had didnt give us straws or napkins for our food and only some of our food came out. May I add that the waitress was completely rude and had a disrespectful manner towards us and we waited hour just to be seated and other families passed by us, worst service ever. read more
