For my entrée, I had the finger-licking double-glazed baby back ribs with honey BBQ sauce--absolutely scrumptious and cooked perfectly. We ended the meal by sharing the Sizzlin' Caramel Apple Pie, which was incredible. Layers of warm cinnamon apple pie, drizzled with caramel, topped with candied pecans and vanilla ice cream, all served in a hot skillet--what can I say... yum, yum, yum! I also enjoyed a red sangria made with Sutter Home Cabernet, peach schnapps, Ocean Spray cranberry, and fruit juices--perfectly mixed. Normally, I'd give Applebee 3 stars but either the cooking improved or I'm just that tired of my own cooking as I think it's now a 4. Went for lunch on Labor Day and sat outside. They've set up a tent with 4 large tables so folks can be socially distanced. It was on a grassy patch so felt more like a nice picnic than just sitting in a parking lot. The menu is now via QR code so bring your smartphone. The staff are masked and gloved. The utensils are in prewrapped sets. The woman's bathroom inside only allowed one sink to account for social distance and you did have to wear a mask to go inside the restaurant. The clubhouse grille sandwich with fries came out just fine in terms of timing and temperature. I was pleasantly surprised that the peach iced tea wasn't too syrupy and sweet as I was prepared to have to doctor it by diluting with water. Overall not bad for covid times! read more

In my opinion, I believe three important things make a place stand out a little bit more than the rest, their food quality, the service they provide and their cleanliness. During my visit I appreciated to be acknowledged, welcomed and smiled at. Server was polite and helpful. Checked more than a few times our table, that's nice. The food came out quickly, hot and it was tasty. The place was clean but I would have appreciated more attention to the restroom. Came here for lunch today as a small group, and there was almost no one else in the entire restaurant. I guess that's a really good thing, because the food was better than I remember Applebee's food being years ago, which is the last time I've been to an Applebee's. As an appetizer, we had the spinach and artichoke dip. As a main course, I tried the "Bourbon Street Chicken & Shrimp" for myself and also got to take a bite of someone else's "Smokey Mozarella-Stuffed Ravioli with Grilled Chicken". For dessert, we shared the "Triple Chocolate Meltdown". I liked everything I tried today, except for the mozarella-stuffed ravioli, and only because the sauce was terrible to me. It tasted alcoholic, sweet, and tangy - just everything that a sauce for ravioli was NOT supposed to be. But rest assured, I would recommend any of the other dishes from today. With the small number of people dining at 12 noon, I would think that extra attention to detail played a role in how good the food came out. The spinach and artichoke dip was deliciously hot and gooey and extra cheesey. Excellent with the chips. Nothing to complain about. The dish was a winner! And the bourbon street chicken and shrimp went excellently with the mushrooms and onions alongside it as well as the mashed potatoes. But the best part? The buttery garlic and parmesan sauce deserves an A+ because it just tied everything together. And, like is often the case, dessert was so yummy. The triple chocolate meltdown was essentially a lava cake with some vanilla ice cream. Can't go wrong when pairing chocolate and vanilla, or hot cake and cold ice cream for dessert! That gooey chocolate inside just ran onto the plate when you cut open the tender, soft, chocolatey cake. It mixed so well with the cold, creamy vanilla ice cream. It was okay. Our waitress was great. Service here is always charismatic, friendly, and nice-- in my experience. The food was too salty and left me feeling ill walking back to my car, which doesn't even happen to me after eating Taco Bell. I wish the food was a bit fresher. I'm giving it this high of a review because of the service and that it's a chain restaurant so, what can you expect? I enjoyed the atmosphere and spending lunch with my Mom. We did curb-side pickup at the Applebee's in Newtown Pa. we ordered Classic Cheese Burger well-done (No Pink) and a Whisky Burger well-done (No Pink). The Classic CheeseBurger was cooked to perfection. The Whisky Burger was very pink inside. Well-done not pink inside is not a special order. Did we get someone else's order of a rare medium-well burger? Was it the plan to not fully cook the Whisky Burger knowing we couldn't find out until we go home? I'm a DoorDash driver. One recent weekday afternoon I had a pick up from this Applebees. There have maybe 6 (or more) reserved spots near the door for pick up. There was no cars parked there. The entire row was empty. I hoped out of my car and as I got close to the entrance, the manager comes out and asks if I'm picking up to which I replied "yes I am" I'm normally a cheerful and accommodating person, especially since I worked as a server for 10+ years. The manager then said, "is that your car?" I said "why yes it is" he said you have to move it down to the delivery spots (I had no clue they had delivery spots) but they were way down the aisle. There was no other car but mine. I said "are you kidding me?" He said, "I can't give you your food until you move your car" So this manager was willing to let this customers food in the heating window, drying out, so that he could prove a point. The restaurant had less than 10 customers in the entire store. I will no longer accept orders from this store nor eat there. read more

Strange atmosphere in this Applebees! Me and my girlfriends came in for lunch and immediately looked at the drink menus as one does, noticeably we had the alcohol menu in hand as the server came over to greet us. (We are all 21, some of us over 21). We got our soft drinks to settle in (sodas, water) as we still weren't ready for alcoholic beverages. As we settle on what we want the waitress comes back a second time and we show her the alcoholic drinks we wanted. Immediately she said she needed to see the ids of everyone seated at the table, whether they were drinking or not. This immediately threw me off because any establishment I've been in that serves alcoholic beverages has never asked to see every single id of every single person seated at the table. (Usually just the ones drinking!) Then proceed to say they have to scan and swipe every single one of them (insinuating they were fake or something). LOL I don't know if they got in trouble for serving alcohol to minors before or something and are now cracking down on every single young person. But, this was a bit ridiculous... I even see past reviews that someone else got denied while also having a valid id (because it did not match the book). We should have checked more thoroughly before coming here because it was like a karen situation. Maybe get an updated book??? Then after the whole alcohol situation they proceeded to take at least 35 minutes for appetizers. Swore we were being punked or something, appetizers take 15, 20 minutes tops. Applebee's is just Applebee's. There's nothing directly proprietary about their menu and their presence is barely even noted nowadays. Their food is mediocre at best and you could honestly do better buying a meal from the frozen food section at your local grocery store. With that being said, I see slight improvements in their product quality as time continues to go by. I love this Applebees! I come here all the time to meet my friends for a "quick" drink. The staff here is all really friendly. Last night I came in and the bartender was so much fun! They usually have some type of monthly deal. For example, last night they had a special on a vodka lemonade drink. And then they always have their reverse happy hour where you can get half price appetizers after 9. This is a perfect spot to come in for a couple of beers and an appetizer. My elderly parents went there and found out a few days later that their credit card number was stolen and charges were being racked up for Apple equipment and other web purchases. All I wanted tonight was to watch Beetlejuice with my family and eat some juicy boneless wings after a long, arduous week at my soul-crushing 9 to 5 at the toothpaste factory where I get verbally abused by my manager, Susan, on the regular. I really enjoy going to Applebee's and using their gluten-free or wheat allergy menu. The staff there is very helpful and I always have a very good meal. I never have to worry about cross-contamination as they are very considerate and helpful in the kitchen. I've never had any problems with my gluten-free meals. This makes for great friendly and enjoyable meals knowing that I can have a tasty gluten-free healthy meal and not worry about any cross-contamination at Applebee's. read more
