Magerks salad
Elizabeth C.

Stopped here for lunch to kill sometime while my mom was at the rheumatology center getting infusions. Our server Camryn was a sweetheart. She told us we could stay as long as we needed to at our table. My dad was so stressed out that we were taking up her table for a long time, even though there were several tables around us. I told him to stop worrying. My dad had the onion soup which Camryn said was phenomenal. My dad had to agree with her, he enjoyed it very much. He also had the MaGerk's salad, which was really yummy, full of Craisins,, and blue cheese crumbles. I ordered the pork roast sandwich, which was quite yummy. I could've drank the au jus that came with it. Next time we are here for my mom's infusion we will definitely stop by again.

Quintessentially newtown, this place gives the passable impression of personality, yet lacks any true substance, character, or culinary merit. If you told me I had to choose between bringing a first date here and telling her it's my favorite place and being sodomized by shaq, I'd say "slip it in". I'm not sure where to start, but the floor-to-ceiling pictures of high school girls playing volleyball (mid jump!) gave me the first bad impression. The food was equally unsettling. I could go on about how everything was either bone-dry or upsettingly soggy, but the pinnacle of dumbassery, the nail in the coffin, the CHUCKLE-INDUCING kitchen idiocracy that forced me to write this (in spite of the absolute dime waiting for me on my bed) was that these fools, with full knowledge of the prices on their menu, served my shitty burger with a bag of chips. They could not find it in their wealthy white trash hearts to at least pretend that some effort was put into the meal. To wash it down, I ordered a gin and tonic (three limes). Expecting a glass containing gin, tonic, three limes, and perhaps some ice, you can imagine my surprise to receive a tepid glass of-wait for it-vodka. Just vodka. How? At risk of seeming loquacious, i'd encourage you to see how much of a waste of time this place is yourself, but I won't. Because you shouldn't. Save your dignity and go to wendy's. Regrettably, Barry

Huge location. We called at 3:30 pm to ask for tables for 20 people. They got us in for our first choice time - 6:30. Fantastic service, good food, reasonable prices. I especially loved the Spicy Strawberry Margarita with freshly muddled strawberries & jalepenos that the bartender created for me by combining a spicy margarita and a strawberry margarita! Glad our friend from the local area recommended MaGerk's!

Fast service and pretty good food! Lots of options- there is something for everyone. Great drinks too!

The latest sports bar entrant in the restaurant wars happening in Newtown and the surrounding area (Middletown). Large space, high ceilings, outdoor patio and likely the largest rectangular bar around these parts. An army of service personnel, friendly, attractive and well trained. If you're about Philly sports, lots of sudsy drinks and fairly typical bar menu, Magerk's Pub & Grill could be your jam. On a late Saturday afternoon the joint was jammed and several decibels above comfortable. We were there to eat and catch the end of the NFL Draft and Phillies game. Fifty (50) minute wait for seating with good mobile tech to keep us informed. We recognized many faces and even chatted with a few folks as we waited. The energy was exuberant from both the novelty of a new hangout in the hood and the free flow from the bar. Au votre sante! We were seated closer to 30 minutes; a pleasant surprise. Ordered an IPA from a local brewery and Twisted Tea Light for the fella who really doesn't love fermented hops. The menu offered a Magerk Smash Burger w Chips for the lad and Chicken Cheesesteak Hoagie Style with side o' fries for the old man. This was where the house lost points with us. Young man was happy with his burger, but not enthusiastic. Somehow, a bag of chips on the platter made it seem this was a take out order rather than a moderately costly sit down. The Chicken Cheesesteak was another story entirely. First, the order came out wrong as a plain beef cheesesteak and had to be redone for 15 minutes. When the right platter arrived and I shoveled in the first bite of the overstuffed sandwich, I found the cheese overwhelmed it with a salty, industrial grade cheese-like sauce. There was more of this gloop than chicken, but it was so mixed together, rather than layered, that it reminded of high school cafeteria tetrazzini. Wrong texture. Wrong consistency. Wrong taste. Wrong roll. A total fail. I ate half hoping the flavor would somehow improve, but it didn't. Took the rest home for disposal. It is obvious Magerk's will succeed here, but no thanks to their concept of cheesesteaks, nor their acoustics control. 2.5 Salty Stars

Ive been to the MaGerk's in warminster. Both places have great food and fast service. We arrived very late, like close to 10pm. I was shocked they still had their full menu available. I can't wait until football season to enjoy a few drinks at their very large bar area. This is a much needed addition to the area.

What an awesome addition to the Bucks County, Langhorne/Newtown area!!! It has such a home town vibe!!! I was there with a group on opening night. Everything ran so smoothly! Very nice menu and the food was delicious!! My husband and I shared the Mediterranean Board and it was very good. I had the Chicken Magerk with a side salad. The roll was awesome and the whole sandwich overall was delicious. My husband had the Magerk Smash and said it was the best hamburger he has had. I met the owners on opening night and they were so so nice. The service was great. We will definitely be back and going often. I definitely recommend this restaurant!!!

Ambiance is great relaxing My happy place all the TV's. Our waitress came to this location from Horsham . Cute short blonde girl w a pretty smile. (sorry I am so bad with names.) She was so sweet. The service was excellent, and the food is well priced not overpriced (like Firebirds) The staff is very friendly and welcoming.A fun new spot See you next week.Go Phillies

We enjoyed our lunch at Magerks. We both had salads; mine with shrimp and my friend's with salmon. Very nice atmosphere and good service.

It's been months since I've been here so my review should be taken with a grain of salt. That being…read moresaid, the last time I was there, their selection of draft and bottled beers, ciders and other drinks were great, varied for every palate, including my persnickety and fickle taste. One of their longtime staples, the Lindeman's Framboise (Raspberry in French) lambic beer, with its fruit forward profile and the low ABV of under 3% makes it a great sipping and people watching brew. The bartenders are always friendly and willing to chat, given they aren't swamped with other patrons. The take out is just as good as their dine in food, and their attention to detail FOR ANYONE WITH SENSITIVITIES (though I can't guarantee anything) or those like myself who have texture aversions to certain ingredients, they are more than willing to accommodate or substitute. I haven't personally looked into anything gluten-free, so that's something to call ahead for details on. Otherwise I have been coming here both with my family and on my own since... Way before they renovated, Maybe 2002, maybe before. It's been THAT long. The place is literally a "must try" landmark for any visitors to the area, with a minor caveat: sports games and Friday nights. Avoid those two times. It's a mob scene and the wait times become outrageous. Still hoping to get back there soon.

I ordered the Flat Iron Steak Sandwich, and WOW -- absolutely fantastic. The steak was grilled perfectly, tender with great flavor, and the combo of provolone, arugula, au poivre aioli, and the onion nest on a Liscio's long roll really hit all the right notes. Truly delicious. My girlfriend went with the Grilled & Chilled Chicken Caesar and a cup of Butternut Squash Soup. The salad was super fresh, the romaine crisp, and the croutons tasted like they were made in-house -- crunchy, seasoned, and a perfect match for their famous Caesar dressing. The soup had great flavor too, just a touch heavy on the spice (nutmeg maybe?), but still very enjoyable. Because it was a busy Saturday, we were seated upstairs. Our waitress, Kayla, was attentive, friendly, and did a great job keeping up even with the crowd. No complaints there -- she was excellent. My one real critique: the beer list. When we asked about it, Kayla pointed us to a blackboard in the corner of the upstairs dining area. From where we were sitting, it was hard to read -- and honestly a little awkward to get up and try to see. I ended up snapping a quick picture just to figure out what was available. It would be so much more convenient if they offered a printed list at the table or even a QR code you could scan. Because we couldn't easily see the options, I went with a cranberry sangria (which was tasty!) and my girlfriend ordered a cranberry vodka instead of exploring their beer selection. All in all, really good food, great service, and a fun spot before a show. Just fix the beer list situation and this would easily be a five-star visit. Would definitely return!

The room actually absorbs sound better than many other bars in the area. Bartenders and waiters are usually very attentive and friendly. My one beef with the place, which is not terribly important to me because I'm usually not there for a serious meal, is that beyond pizza, cheesesteaks, fries, and stuffed hot peppers, they don't do a great job with their food. Virtually everything I've had other than the aforementioned bar stuff has been mostly "meh" (did I get that right, kids? :) By the way, the Meat Lovers Pizza is outstanding (and I'm from Trenton NJ - IYKYK )

Adds to the "divy...ness!" People dressed more like a biker crowd than a "Newtown" crowd. Food is bar food...not a "foodie" place by any stretch. I ordered a chicken wrap with french fries. Hubs ordered sausage and pepper sandwich with fries. Fries were a bit over seasoned and wrap was good. My martini was very good...not a large glass but not expensive either so it works. There is an outside patio for dining and a beer take out store. We were curious to try this place and happy to try it once...however, it really isn't my kind of place. Still...it was memorable.
