I have always loved coming to this Applebee's and would take my family there Just for their amazing chicken fingers that I devoured!!! However, i recently went back and they started serving a new brand of chicken fingers. I could barely eat two. They were horrible!!!! It was the first time I didn't ask for a take home container. Applebees was the only restaurant that I could honestly say had the best ckn fingers. Huge disappointment that they changed them. Please bring the other chicken back!!!!!! First of all if you serve a pasta dish it obviously needs Garlic bread !!!!! I was very mad that the server couldn't even offer garlic bread. Why even order here if they can't give garlic bread . Any Italian would look at the pasta and say where is the garlic bread??? Guess Olive Garden has better bread And actually offers it . This restaurant needs a whole new menu . It's the same old menu . Wish I could give this no stars . Plus 50 cents extra for bread that's not even garlic is ridiculous. I would love Applebee's to address this issue. read more

I've been going to this Applebee's since it opened in 2001/2002. This restaurant has had its ups and downs. I am pleased with the 2 for $20 menu, and am glad it's changes often. Their food is decent. I like their new honey pepper menu. Also, my favorite "classic" dish is their oriental salad. One of the nice things this Applebee's does is every once in a while they give out free kids meals!! read more

We waited 15 minutes before anyone came over to greet us. We then waited 18 minutes for our first round of drinks. way too long for our appetizers. appetizers came out with the kids food and then one adult entree came out and another 8 minutes past before the other two adult meals came out. there was no manager on the floor helping the staff while they were obviously being overworked and OBVIOUSLY UNDERSTAFFED as well as underpaid. management needs to step up and be better so the place can run better. without good management there is no good business. our service wasn't great but i know that wasn't her fault as she had 7 tables and was running the bar because there was no bartender. was definitely disappointed as we just moved to the neighborhood and are looking at different food options for nights out. waitstaff will not feel supported and will not succeed without a proper management team. do better read more

Applebees is Applebees. It's not the best but it's not the worst. Their food is always the same. Service always meh. I don't expect too much when I go into an Applebees, however this one is the best of the Applebees in the area so if we do go, the Newtown one is the place of choice. read more

Great quick service. I came here for apps and drinks on a Thursday night at the bar, service was great. The drink selections were tasty as well as the food. I liked how they have the low calorie option on the menu that was extra points for me. Wish they still had a skinny margarita though. But I did like the live entertainment on a Thursday, he was very good. read more

There is a blonde waitress at this restaurant named Emily who was so rude it is unexplainable. My friend and I walked in and told the host how many menus we needed and she mocked her voice and walked away. The positivity and energy of this place was very well put. It's just that some aspects of this place showed inept qualities towards other people who would walk into this place. Went here once and wasn't pleased with the way things were made for me. Didn't say anything cuz I'm a nice and gentlemen-like guy but in the end I had to say something. Applebee's is a revelation and a fine American delicacy given the extraordinary service. Yes, I'm A wonton taco addict after a few fine visits. The service is impeccable. No. There's no comparison. There are no words. The late night menu is so affordable and the food so delicious. Drinks are cold, fresh, rewarding after a long days work, and I couldn't be more thankful for bartender Cam. We live in Newtown and decided to check out Applebee's, and I have to say I think we've found our new favorite bar! What a spotlessly clean, inviting, open restaurant. We felt welcome from the moment we arrived, and loved that the kind hostess was already holding the door open for us as we entered. We sat at the bar and started off with the $1 Hurricanes, then tried the $4 Long Island Iced teas, and ordered 3 of the happy hour half price apps. The drink specials are so fun! Our bartender, I believe his name was David, was phenomenal. He went above and beyond and took incredible care of us. The drinks and food were all delicious and came out so fast! I do wish there were more vegetarian options (I can only order a handful of appetizers, no entrees), but if you can get the message to corporate that adding vegan and vegetarian meals would really make a lot of people very happy, Applebee's would literally be the perfect restaurant. The management here is obviously doing a wonderful job, and I applaud you! read more

Food is average as any applebees. I can say though that the cooks have probably messed up my order almost every single time I have ordered! Normally Caesar salad, ribs and chicken are my go to. And i'm OBSESSED with the brownie dessert! BUT Mark is a server in the bar area and WE LOVE HIM! He is amazing, he remembers who we were after just 3 visits (over about 3 week period) has our drinks in about a minute before we tell him! he is a delight! I don't know how much he is paid but he should be paid more! I wish I could steal him for my own restaurant. read more

My kids love Applebee's and we are there once or twice a month... so last night's disappointment was... well a disappointment... I had the Shrimp and Steak Cheese dinner... and the steak had a lot of gristle which I could put up with... but raw meat that was still cold... not quite what I would call medium rare. Anyway I sent it back (something I haven't done in many, many years) they stuck it in the microwave and reheated the whole plate... well the steak got cooked but the vegetables got soggy and the shrimp became hard little rocks. But on a brighter note, I was fortunate enough to have the company of a very good friend and lots of good conversation!!! so I still managed to have a good night! Who knows maybe they will read this and not act so cheeseeee next time... read more

Fantastic quick dessert experience. I have previously been to this location prior to it becoming A La Mousse as it was a macroons specialty bakery. This place popped up on Yelp and I was excited to see what they had to offer. My friends and I only ordered the Sizzling ice cream to share for $7.95! we were asked what type of ice cream we wanted- raspberry truffle, matcha or pistachio. We decided to go with raspberry truffle since the dessert itself contained a matcha brownie with matcha sauce drenching the sides. We were delighted by how well the flavors ended up pairing together!! Hot guy brought is the dish which was ice cream on top of the brownie with some rice crisps on the side on a hot plate and poured the matcha saucing causing it to sizzle all around! It was a fun and cool experience for that aspect and the dessert was great. Next time will definitely come back and choose from their fairly diverse range of dessert options for the same price! read more

Talk about under-whelming. My wife and I went this evening, a Monday, and it was mediocre at best. She ordered a steak medium-well that arrived medium rare. Her french fries were lukewarm. The shrimp on her surf and turf were forgotten when the platter hit the table. We found our waiter and in a few minutes he brought out a plate of the teeniest shrimp possible. One step above brine shrimp. I ordered a burger that tasted good. But the onion rings were over-cooked and slightly burnt. I thought of sending everything back -- but, what a hassle ! We came to enjoy dinner, NOT engage in quality control for the restaurant! The drinks -- her sangria was good. I ordered a Blue Moon draft, and have never had one in a glass that was smaller. Please Applebee's, don't eek out profit by slimming beer glasses ! This is yet another symptom of what's wrong with America. There is no excuse for this 'who-cares' performance.
