Spent the afternoon here with a friend this past weekend. We tried the advertised $1 zombies . They were surprisingly pretty delicious for the price. I honestly didn't expect much for applebees since it is a budget friendly place but the customer service was top tier! Seems like we got our food before we could finish ordering it lol. I will say the four cheese Mac and cheese was a little bland but the honey pepper chicken tenders made up for it! My recommended is go with a friend and try out the $1 zombies.. if you aren't a fan .. it's literally just a dollar!! read more

I've got to be honest - I didn't expect to enjoy Applebee's this much! We stopped in for lunch, as it's right off I-20 (between Birmingham and Atlanta), assuming it would be fast and just OK. It was refreshingly better than anticipated. We had a quesadilla chicken salad and a chicken sandwich with bacon. Both were served fast, fresh and tasty. I wish I could give a shoutout to our server since she was so so energetic and accurate in the order, but the e-receipts apparently don't list the server's name. Waited over 20 minutes for a table even though we could see at least 4 in the immediate area that hadn't been bussed since we walked in the door. Server was initially prompt, but after entrees were served, we only saw her once. 2 other servers refilled our drinks in the interim and brought condiments. We even had to search her out to get our bill so we could leave. My steak was cooked well (medium rare) but was so salty I couldn't finish it. All other food as expected from a chain. On a more annoying note, the manager on duty recognized someone she knew at a table adjacent to us and proceeded to stand directly next to my husband in order to carry on a conversation with the couple. This continued for quite some time and was a distraction to our dining experience. And she never acknowledged us in the slightest. read more

Convinced myself to give Applebees a go...so order was placed thru DoorDash. The value deal was the 2 plus one for $22, Chicken and Shrimp, Grilled chicken salad, and Spinach/Artichoke dip. The salad was the hero, but the dressing I selected was Asian Sweet...something, tasty but very runny. The creole chicken and shrimp was "okay" but nobody from NOLA is going to claim it...no clue why I let it come with mashed potatoes, (diabetic), but they were fairly well done with green onion blended in. The nacho strips were light and crunchy to dip with, cant complain about the spinach/artichoke, but not writing my Grama about it. Service is great! Food's always hot and fresh. It's our favorite spot to stop when we come to town.

Our server, Chase, did an excellent job. He was very attentive without being overbearing. He fulfilled every request with a smile and prompt service. We started our meal with the Chicken Wonton Tacos. Super tasty! The wonton as a shell provided an amazing, airy crispness to the dish while the dense crunch of the slaw brought the taco together. The slaw was tangy and well dressed, the chicken was moist and the taco sauced to perfection. For my main course, I ordered off the promotional menu. I chose the the savory herb and butter sauce to top my sirloin and the twisted tots as my side. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare and the herb butter very well seasoned. I really enjoyed it. The tots were also good and drizzled with queso and sprinkled with bacon. Green beans finished my meal and were in desperate need of salt. They were cooked very well, however, and had a nice, garlicky bite to them. Our meal was finished by a butter-pecan blondie. It was phenomenal. Seriously. Best fix for a sweet-tooth I have found. In closing, I would like to say that this is the first time I have been back to the Oxford Applebee's location in about four years. The restaurant had gotten to a point of being deplorable. The food was trash and the service a joke. I am glad I decided to give this restaurant another chance. Tonight's experiences was a 180 from the past few years. read more

I WANT GO BACK!!!! Poor service and the food was less than desirable. It took almost ten minutes after receiving our drink, our server finally came back to take our order. By this time, we did not bother with an appetizer. When our food came, the best item on my plate was the fries. The riblets had a charred/burned grilled taste, and my wife's chicken breast could not be explained. When I asked about substituting the coleslaw, the server stated that is how it comes. Do I HAVE to give this place a star before I can comment? Twenty tables available and we get seated at the one with the sticky stuff on top. Gordon Ramsey has probably NEVER approved, but I was amazed at how bad this joint has become. I ordered a lunch combo of soup and salad. The chicken tortilla soup was served at room temperature. (Is this something new they are trying?) Hand raised to Jesus, I discovered a couple of pieces of chicken skin underneath a big handful of tortilla strips. There was no "soup" in sight, as the tortilla strips had soaked up the liquid and it was just a bowl of mush....with chicken skin...at room temperature. The oriental chicken salad that made up the other half of this delightful combo consisted of a few pieces of lettuce core and 3-4 pieces of what they called "crispy chicken" which was actually the equivalent of one limp room temperature chicken nugget, cut into the 3-4 pieces. Sadness abounded. I was with some new friends, so I had to act like I had some manners and didn't say anything. But Y'ALLLLLL. You really ought to be ashamed. If you can't do any better than this, you need to turn off your microwaves and close the doors...forever. I wonder if I should call Alexander Shunnarah? My wife and I have always liked the food at Applebee's. They have a good menu and good food. Our last visit here on September 18, 2022 was doomed from the beginning. We walked in to get a table for lunch. There was a man waiting to be seated. He asked for a table for three. The hostess walked over to talk to another employee, I assumed it was her manager. She came back to tell the man they would have to clean some tables and he would need to wait. She asked my wife how many people were in our party to which she replied two. She also asked the person behind us. He replied two as well. She told us we would need to wait for tables to be cleaned. She walked away, but she didn't go to clean tables. We waited for a few minutes while nobody was cleaning tables. There were many tables unattended that looked as if they had not been used. After seeing there was no urgency from the dining room staff we left to eat elsewhere. The dining out experience in Oxford is really in desperate need of fixing. read more

We were promptly seated and greeted by our server Brittany who was very kind and attentive to our needs. First time to this location. Not happy. We ordered the 2 for $25 with spinach chips. The dip was over cooked and scorched in the bowl and the chips tasted like chemicals. I got the waitress Kayla to taste it. And she got us a order of cheese sticks. We decided to eat lunch today. To start with we go in and there is something split in the floor at the hostes counter not sure if it was food or throw up. We ordered the 2 for $27. The water we ordered had something black floating in the water. We waited over 20 mi utes for the appetizer, then we get our food the mash potatoes were cold. Then we get new warm potatoes and both orders had a black object in them the manager said it was mushrooms.. i know what a mushroom looks like and that was not a mushroom.
