My Anniston family eats here regularly and especially when they have large family gatherings. On my trip home to Florida, we were the first ones in the restaurant for lunch. Everything was so clean and fresh at the buffet and the food was especially delicious. One thing we always appreciate is the attention the servers offer in the side room for small groups. Food wasnt as fresh as it should have been, it was either overcooked and cold or not cooked thoroughly. Customer service was poor and terrible, we had to wait a full 20-30 minutes for our drinks to show up, one while we were not notified of our waitress being on her " lunch break" supposedly. The noise in the whole establishment was loud and not for families, it was too loud and not recommended going. A waitress by the name of Jasmine in particular slammed our drinks onto our table right in front of our faces and her demeanor about herself is totally not for working with the public. The food was absolutely horrible. How does this place have a rating higher than 1 star??? The steak was cold and you couldn't chew it enough to swallow safely. The "grilled vegetables were ice cold and under cooked with zero seasoning. The chicken was dry but better than most everything else. First off, we've been eating here at Oxford ,Al for 30+ years and love it. However, we went there today for lunch; The food was good as always but there are long rugs in the floor beside the bar and my wife's electric chair wheeles kept getting hung in them rolling up under her chair which really embarrassed her. The floor was really damp under the rugs, they must have just mopped the floor and it was real slippery causing them to slide. Great service. I mean, for real. The servers bust it in there. They are friendly, hustling, and thoughtfully responsive. The steak is cooked well done and medium. I go to this Western Sizzlin once a month for a meeting of people during breakfast. The place was just remodeled and looks great. The breakfast buffet has a numerous amount of items to choose from including steak, bacon, biscuits, fried catfish, fried chicken, and more. Also, there is also an omelette station where someone will cook you up your own personalized omelette. The place can be very busy during the breakfast buffet because large groups do come. But the lines on the buffet move fast and the food is replenished often. Best of all, your drink during the breakfast buffet is included with the price. Omg I normally do not do buffets. But tried this out with a family members. Tuesday night is senior night Wednesday is kids night. They eat free and put us in a room to watch a movie while eating. They had little airlines so they can put together and all. The staff was very nice and pleasant. They were very welcoming to all of us. While visiting I seen how the staff was wiping down, and restocking the bar frequently. They had a lot of different options on the bar also. I only compliant is that I felt like our waitress wasn't as attentive to us as she should have been. A lot of our drinks were empty. She brought my dad hot iced tea as a refill. I visited this place last night, feb 4 2021. 6:30 pm NEVER AGAIN I am a regular during the day. But had family emergency and decided to stop and eat. BIG MISTAKE. We were seated and the server proceeded to take our order. She didn't write anything down or nothing. Took over twenty minutes to get order my steak tips were suppose to be med well.I was suppuse to have two pieces of tx toast and fries. I got a steak tips CHARRED with the BURNT side down. Guess they figured I wouldn't be able to tell a baked potato and one piece of toast. My husband was supposed to get a eight oz sirloin med. With fries and two tx toast. He got a BURNT steak baked potato and one piece of toast. When we told the server she said let me get those fries for you. So then twenty minutes later she brings out the fries we told her not to worry about it cause we can't eat the steak. She said VERY RUDELY let me get the manager. So another twenty minutes later. This lady comes out of the kitchen with a cooks apron on SAYS she is the manager. We tell her the same above details of our order and she says that she's gonna have to charge us 9.99 for the salad bar and our deings when we question her that the salad bar is only 3.59 she said she would have to charge us the 9.99. We questioned her on why our server didn't write anything down. No answer she just kept repeating herself about us having to pay the 9.99. When in the south. A buffet is guaranteed to be a dinner to have atleast once. Always see Western Sizzlins around the country. Never been to one till now. Its on the same level of types of food as Golden Corral or Ponderosa. Went here for lunch yesterday. Hard to turn down a 8 dollar lunch buffet. Even if all you do is eat salad. This place had the biggest salad bar I have seen. The quality of the food on the salad bar and hot side. Was really good. I tried the fried chicken, catfish, plus a few sides. All was good and no complaints. The staff was friendly and nice. The dinning area is clean. A bit outdated but who cares as long as the food is good. I would eat here again. I have never liked eating alone, but found myself at Western Sizzlin hungry and alone at lunch time. It was the best "all by myself" experience I have ever had at a restaurant! My server was helpful and attentive, the food was delicious! I had the buffet and asked for a baked potato, because I was craving a good old fashioned baked potato! And it was incredible! My husband and I are up here for his truck driving school for his class CDL's. I came here to eat with family and friends today. I ate at the buffet, and the food was utterly horrible. The only thing that was decent was the rolls. Several things were stale, and the chicken and stake was terribly dry. Everything else just didn't taste like it should've. The staff was ok.
