Came here on a Wednesday evening with a party of 8. The host quoted us a 35-minute wait -- it turned into over 45 minutes, which wouldn't have been a dealbreaker if the service inside had made up for it. It didn't. Once seated, it took 20 minutes just to get a waiter to the table. Then another 15 minutes for our drinks to arrive. We had already placed our food order along with the drinks out of desperation. By that point, we were an hour and 40 minutes in with nothing but the beers we bought ourselves outside while waiting. The restaurant was not packed. There is no excuse for this level of inattentiveness on a slow Wednesday night. A party of 8 shouldn't have to fight for basic service. Save yourself the frustration and go somewhere that actually wants your business. read more

We stopped in for lunch on Tuesday--and loved it so much we came back again on Thursday! From the outside, the building looks pretty unassuming, but don't let that fool you. Once you step through the doors, you're greeted with a warm, welcoming atmosphere and a surprisingly stylish interior. The food? Absolutely incredible. Between the two visits, we tried the Cuban sandwich, potato soup (hands down the best we've ever had), adult grilled cheese, smoked pork nachos, and the vegetable medley--which was so good it was the reason we made a second trip! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The service was just as memorable as the food. Katie and Paisley were fantastic--super friendly and made us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. We stopped at Coldwater recently, interested in trying some of their brews. We were very disappointed that there has been some kind of issue with their brewing system and none of their home brews were available. They did have some American beers on draft and a few others in cans. Inside, the place feels antiquated in a good way as it is housed in an old train station. Their merch was very cool. Service was fairly good. We ordered the smash burger with green beans (veggie of the day) and a Cuban sandwich with fries. Our food was excellent, and the real highlight of our visit. There was a shocking number of flies inside the restaurant and we kept having to wave them off of our food, which was pretty gross and a distraction from enjoying our meal. To be fair, though, it's August in Alabama so flies are everywhere. read more

This was a nice place. When you first walk in you come into the bar area. They had live music going on the evening we came. It was later in the evening the night we came and we had children with us so they sat us in the back room. I believe I saw a sign that said no children after 8, which is when the kitchen closes. For appetizers we ordered a sample plate and Brussels Sprouts. Both were very good. The sample plate came with smoked bologna. That was our first experience with it. I don't eat bologna as a general rule but this tasted more like a summer sausage with a nice crust and bbq sauce. The cheese dip that came with the plate was ok. It wasn't bad but for a beer and cheddar sauce I expected more flavor. The Brussels sprouts were excellent. They had great color. They are topped with bacon, dried cranberries, blue cheese, and a balsamic reduction. For our entrees I ordered the Swiss mushroom burger, which was a special that night. The burgers are hand made it appears. It was nice and juicy. The veggies on it were also very fresh. The fries were nice and crispy seasoned fries. My husband ordered the brisket bbq plate. It was ok. The brisket looked great but was lacking in flavor. Also for the price you pay it wasn't worth what you got. There were 5 of us though and he was the only one disappointed. My oldest got the shrimp and grits. I thought it had a ton of grits vs the small amount of shrimp but she was never going to be able to finish it all anyway. My other daughter got the Cajun pasta. The sauce on the two dishes seemed very similar only the pasta had more creole seasoning. They both tasted good though. They offered a nice selection of beers. We ordered a Pineapple pop tart sour which was really good. If you like sweet and aren't a big fan of beer I highly recommend it. I tried a peach cider that was too sour for my liking. My daughter got the peach ring mixed drink that was good but very sweet. It has fruit in the bottom. Overall it was a good experience. The service was great, very attentive, but the prices are a bit steep. We will go back but this will definitely be an occasional spot. For 5 of us, after tip, with 3 of us getting one drink we averaged around $40 per person. read more

Located in the old train depot, this restaurant has a great historc ambiance with all the exposed brick. Ordered the Cuban sandwich and fries for lunch. The bartender asked if I thought I'd need ketchup with my fries. Pretty bold move on bis part, and Iook that to mean they know how to make really good fries. So I raw dawged it. His confidence in their fries was not miss placed. They are great! They are tossed in a starchy spice mixture, They fried to a deep golden brown. Outside was crispy, and the insides were a buttery perfection. This place is easily in completion for best fries in Alabama. Not to detract from the Cuban sandwich. Made with pulled pork and fresh ingredients, this is truly a great sandwich, almost on par with what.you might find in Hileah, FL. My only comment is that the bread wasn't pressed with a hot iron to ge that crispy flattened sandwich of an hthentic Cuban sandwich, but it is an excellent sandwich. I need to return on a weekend to check out their beer. Great place to visit if you are in downtown Anniston. read more

I have a group of 15 people meeting for reunion dinner Saturday night at 5pm. I called to reserve a table and was told I have to talk to the Manager. I was forwarded to a voicemail that said she only takes emails and responds in a few days. I sent an email and after 5 days no response. I called back, and the female who answered still would not confirm a table directing me to the manager. I asked to speak to the manager, and was told all I can do is leave a voicemail. Then told "But she won't call you back". I gave up and called another restaurant a couple blocks away and reserved a table by phone in a couple minutes. Crossing Coldwater Mountain off my list. We go here about once every 3 months or so. Out of the last 5 visits they only had their own brewed beer one time. That being said the food is always great and service is fair. The building is awesome. Perhaps they should drop the "brew" part from their name. I don't go to a brewpub to get supermarket beer. In the past six months, the restaurant has raised prices twice and recently updated the menu to remove the popular pickle-brined chicken strips and all entrees/sides with grits. My recent visit included two club sandwiches, a tea and one small beer and the tab was more than $50 before tax and tip. Notice in the photo I have a salad and fries instead of what I ordered . The server was nice and apologized for the mistake . The salad and fries were fine with me . The fries were really good. The only issue I had was a cat was in the restaurant. I like animals as much as the next person, but I don't care for animals around the food I eat . I love the atmosphere of the restaurant. The brewery is located downtown and was in an old abandoned building, so the outside is a bit deceiving until you enter. They have an outdoor space in the back which is beautifully decorated, w/ pinic tables, lush landscape. Their is a small stream in the back, with tables and chairs aligning the view. The service was decent. You order at the bar and they give you your drinks and a number for your food. I ordered the philly cheese wrap, fried okra, mac n cheese. They are also known for their double pattied smash burger. It's big enough to share. The food overall was delicious! Very flavorful; I even had to stop here one last time before I left. We went to go to Back Forty in Gadsden with some friends and found out they closed early on Sunday. We stumbled upon Coldwater Mountain Brewpub as an alternative and are so glad we did. From BBQ to paninis, the food did not disappoint and every beer on our flight was a winner (Smokestack Lightning Porter was my personal favorite). While in town for work, I planned to go to a different restaurant for the catfish. In an effort to limit my fried food, I decided to try this one out for other options. Great decision. Tried the shrimp and grits on the recommendation of a table neighbor from Louisiana. Delicious. Also had the okra and sweet potato tots. All great. More food than I could eat. Came back the next day before returning home. Tried the brisket on the recommendation of the same guy from yesterday. Brisket was just as good as the shrimp and grits. Tasty crust on the outside, tender on the inside. Had the okra and grits again. Relaxed atmosphere. Staff recognized me from the previous night. I really enjoyed the Coldwater BrewPub. Being from Seattle, a brewery, is on damn near every corner lol. Coldwater has done it right! From the amazing beers on tap, to the good Korean BBQ wing and the fun space outside. They have jumbo jinga, cornhole and another game (I have no idea what it's called, lol). I really want to love this place. But every time is a disappointment. This last time I went on a Sunday. I ordered a Bloody Mary that never came so I ended up going to the bar to change my drink order. The server never put in my drink order. Then I ordered the smash burger. Always my favorite. They were out of fries. Poor management on that part. When my burger arrived, I took the top bun off and had the sorriest toppings I have ever seen. It had one little pickle that was folded in half (I unfolded for the picture), just the inner core of the onion, a tomato and a few strips of lettuce which were on only one side of the burger. If I'm paying $13 for a burger please at least give me the normal amount of toppings. It was so pathetic. Zero quality control. I thought this place would be better after Harp and Clover took it over. Do better people! read more
