Not only did I wait 20 minutes for my son's food, but that was AFTER they brought the rest of my family's food to the table first. Oh yea, and all he ordered was the yogurt and strawberries, and a corn dog. Then the server had an attitude when I asked to make it to go instead. Oh yea, I'm a Restaurant GM as well, so to sit there and watch the manager see this all happening, and then dodge me to the back when he finally notices that I'm standing up to walk toward him. That was the last straw for me. I put 2 stars because it ain't the cook or Applebee's fault, my burger tasted the same as everywhere else I've ordered it. After a day of fishing for bluefish down the New Jersey shore, my buddy and I stopped into Applebee's. I rarely go to Applebee's but I do like their burgers and I wasn't in the mood to be cooking. Applebee's has an upbeat atmosphere, a nice bar area and beer selection. What I did not expect was the price hike. I had the Classic Burger (1120 Cal) priced at $14.39. It comes on a Brioche bun. Classic fries are included in the meal. The fries were crispy and hot, a real plus. Basically it has all the calories and twice the fat that you might want. Yeah, that flavor is what I'm talking about when I bite into this culinary bad boy. My fishing buddy had the hand battered crispy Fish & Chips (1470 Cal). The meal comes with coleslaw, tartar sauce and a lemon wedge and costs $20.39. We both enjoyed our meals. The service was pretty good but on the slow side. Refills on my drink came after we already finished our meals. For a thirsty guy that was not a good thing. read more

Went here twice in the past week with the wifey. Both times had amazing waitresses. One a little too kind I was gonna ask for her number but wifey was across the table ;). I ordered the shark bowl. Amazing drink but there's sharks BE CAREFUL!! However, the gummy shark at the end was hard as rock and pink when I wanted a blue one :(. Great spot for large groups! Stopped by for some after work drinks and food with coworkers to celebrate a birthday. We were able to fit the 16 of us at two long adjacent tables. Considering how large our group was I was impressed with how attentive the service was- we always had drinks in hand and our food was brought out quickly and at the same time! We ordered some apps for the table included mozzarella sticks and boneless wings. The mozzarella sticks were just ok... and tasted like they had just been frozen and thrown in a fryer. Nothing special but if you are craving mozz stix they will hit the spot! As for the boneless wings, these are an app I would get again! The buffalo sauce that we got with them was a definite hit! We wanted to dip everything in that sauce... even the mozz sticks. For a main I ordered the Bourbon Street Chicken and Shrimp which was really tasty! You are able to ask for a replacement side dish for the mashed potatoes that come with it and you can also pay an up charge to add on additional sides. For drinks, I tried the mango margarita and the 5$ shark bowl (which, lets be honest.... I really ordered for the gummy shark that comes floating in it) While the shark bowl was tasty and sweet (and makes for a good photo, it wasn't very strong. I found the margarita to be stronger and also had a really intense mango flavor. If you like mango than this is definitely the drink for you! I usually go to this place whenever I am craving a late night snack and want to hangout with my friends. I've been coming to this Applebee's for a long time since I live around this neighborhood. Maybe it's because I come late at night for the half off appetizers, but every time I come back, the food gets worse and worse. I ordered Sweet Asian Chile Boneless Wings and Taco Topped Queso and Chips. Some of the boneless wings hardly had any sauce on it. Only the top half of the wings would have sauce, but the other half would barely have any. The celery sticks I got were so tiny, some were probably the size of my fingers. The queso and chips tasted mediocre. I didn't like the ground beef on the queso; I didn't think it was a very good combination. From all my past experiences, the service here sucks. The waiters usually ignore you and it takes forever to get their attention. However, last night I thought the service was amazing. The waitress, I believe her name is Lily, did a wonderful job checking up on me and my boyfriend. She would always come by every 10-15 minutes to see if everything was okay. When we were not done eating yet, she would just tell us to take our time and not to worry. Even though I used to always come here for my late night snack with friends, after last night, I'm not sure if I want to come back anymore. From my experiences the service has always been poor (except for last night) and the food has been going downhill. read more

Eating Good in the Neighborhood!! I'm a big fan of the Parsippany Applebee's! This is without a doubt one of the better Applebee's Grill & Bar in this area. Food is very good plus the bartenders & servers are always on point. The bathrooms are clean, and it's location cannot be beat as It's right on Route 46 Eastbound and Route 80 is a close easy on and off. Sometimes Family and Friends get to choose the restaurant and totally ignore the cool guy with the Yelp app.. . Whatever! Anyhow, you could definitely do worse than hanging out at this place. I think the rating of Applebee's in general depends on which time of the day you go there. To be completely honest, the food is not too great. However, it is a good place to go with you friends at night when they start their half-priced appetizers after 10PM. My friends and I go here all the time when we feel hungry at night and don't know where to go. I usually don't have any issues with their employees or anything, but if you are looking for a good dinner to eat I would say it is better to go somewhere else. read more

It looked like a half empty tray of fries. I also wasn't happy about the upcharge for the mashed sweet potatoes that came with the 1 porkchop platter. I ordered the exact meal that they show on the menu (1 pork chop with a side of green beans and mashed sweet potatoes). The meal was $15.99 and an additional $1.99 for the sweet potatoes. So it was really about an $18 plate rather than the advertised $15.99. The waitress should have informed me about the up charge when I ordered. I haven't been to Applebee's since probably 2009, but we were craving half off apps so we swung by. This visit was a great reminder of why we don't come more often. Got the spinach and artichoke dip ($4.25), bone-in hot wings ($5.50), and brisket quesadilla ($5.35). The spinach and artichoke dip was by far the best dish of the evening, but that isn't saying much. It was reaaaallly good -- cheesy and rich in all the right places, but the chips were disappointing. Our first plate was soooooo unbelievably salty that we ended up asking for more, less heavily salted chips, and it turned out all right after that. Really, I don't care that the dip is microwaved; it's delicious. The wings, on the other hand, were not good at all. Meat was completely overdone and it was just not tasty. It was... food, I guess, and cheap food at that, so it gets a pass...? Honestly it reminded me of something you'd get at a bar's "$.25 wing night" or something like that. The quesadilla was similarly boring. I guess the meat was brisket but you really couldn't tell. There was literally nothing special about it, and apart from the half off price tag, I also wouldn't recommend. Just another uninspired dish. I'm glad we visited because we got the craving out of our system. It was fun visiting Applebee's as high schoolers and young college kids, but now that we're older... not as much. read more

Clueless management and employees, overpriced food, and discustingly filty. Went there today at 10:30 PM, couldnt find a parking spot so thought the place was full. Entering the place and its 70% empty. wanted a table when more than 1/2 the place and then someone were empty. They wanted us to wait 20 to 30 minutes before we would even be seated. There was no place to sit except to the tables that were empty. We simply asked if we could sit at a table as we waited, there was no way we were going to stand in one position. The m.ron refused to give us a seat, instead he insisted we wait 1/2 hour, when it would be 30 minutes to closing, another 10 minutes for a waitress to finally show up leaving only 15 minutes to scarf down our food and this is supposed to be a restaurant. They said they had a shortage of work staff (as always) because no one wants to work at that dump. They are totally clueless and have no regards to customers. If you have a shortage, guess what who ever is managing the place, grab a pen and paper and start taking orders simple as that. But everytime there's always not enough staff because of what goes on there. You have employees leaving, and now you have yet another customer leaving for good as well. Get your act together, this franchise wont last another 3 years from the way they operate things and overcharge for reheated food. read more

Got another drink it was better. I ordered Nachos mind you no one is this world can get this wrong. Well, I was wrong. The nachos were brown toasted a bit to long so they lost their crunch. Ground beef that was there was spread to thin, which means there was barely any beef on the plate. I didn't see the cheese because it looked watered down, it was Under the nachos!!
