8/14/26: My BF and I were in their area and stopped in for lunch. Weatherwise, it was a lovely day. So, we ate outside. We ordered a Diet Coke, Water, French onion soup $9 and a Fig and Pear Pizza $18. My BF enjoyed the French onion soup $9. We shared the Fig and Pear Pizza. The pizza was personal size and delicious. It's under the category of Appetizers. It had Mozzarella cheese, blue cheese, pear, fig, spinach, cauliflower crust, honey & balsamic glaze. It was more than enough for two people. Service was good. The Thirsty Turtle has indoor and outdoor seating. The bathroom was clean. In addition, it has a very large parking lot. The restaurant doesn't face the street. It's located way in the back of a strip mall. I would come back! read more

Wow. How this place has fallen...or at least this was just a horrible anomaly. This was always my have to stop restaurant whenever I can to NJ. And I was so happy I had my family to try it this time. The place itself was so loud we could hardly hold a conversation let along understand the server. Had to ask for a refill every time and she never asked us how anything was...which I will get to next. While the food looked good visually, the wings were extremely dry. It used to have a cola glaze, but these just had some seasoning. The nachos were just ok. The Cuban pressed panini was not pressed...just a roll. The side of rice was over cooked and bland. And the kids pasta meals were not good. They barely had two bites. The only thing they ate was the ice cream, which we had to remind the server about. Overall, I am so disappointed. Tonight was the first time we've had a chance to eat at The Thirsty Turtle in quite a few years. I always remembered this as being a solid place and it still is. My wife and I both ordered the same salad which was the one with Candied Pecans and Apples. We both thought the salads were delicious! My stepson had a cheeseburger and that looked really good too. I am in love with The Thirsty Turtle! I love it when I check out a local spot that has great prices, a wide variety of menu items, delicious food/drinks and excellent service. I enjoyed a delectable dinner last night that was wonderful from start to finish. The figtastic martini was addictive! It was the perfect combination of fig flavored vodka, pomegranate juice, elderflower liqueur and fresh lemon. For starters, I tried the spinach and artichoke dip that was topped with crispy bacon that wasn't greasy. Also, I tried garlic parmesan pretzel sticks with a really tasty cheese sauce. For my entree, I had a delicious burger that was cooked perfectly and was accompanied by fries that weren't greasy. The burger and fries was a sizable portion, but I still managed to make room for dessert. The brownie with ice cream that I had was fantastic, but I absolutely will order the house-made bread budding that my friend said was to die for! We figured we'd give this place a try since we were in Florham Park. The food was good. My grilled chicken sandwich was a little bland, but once I added their chipotle mayo it was perfect. The service was non existent, took over 15 minutes to deliver a desert menu that the waitress said would bring over and forgot. What should been a maximum of 1 hour in and out, the extremely slow service was over 2.75 hours. Took another 30 minutes just to cash the bill in in which we just got up and had to pay because we didn't fee like waiting another hour for her to show up. Either she is bad at her job or didn't care about the table. The food had absolutely no taste it, to speak of. No wonder every single customer that was in the place were old people in their 70s and above, were they eat nothing but hospital tasting food. This place is for them. $23 for extra pounded thin chicken, hidden underneath pasta to justify a $14.99 diner lunch portion for $24.00. $16.00 for a burger that was ordered rare and came out medium, and watered down soda with 60% of the glass filled with ice for $3.99 a glass. The coffee and desert was all overpriced $7 for a cappucchino, $4.00 for a cup of coffee and $12 for boxed, bought someplace else store bought. The whole place isn't a restaurant, they are a bar trying to have a restaurant with overprice tasteless food. Would not come back. read more

I have to say I really enjoy The Thirsty Turtle. Although it's a sports bar and you think it might just be cool to watch a game, the food and staff are excellent and professional. We went the other night and met friends for dinner and it was a fantastic experience! The waiter, (I don't remember his name), but he memorized our order and everything came out perfect! We had appetizers, burgers, beer & drinks, and enjoyed everything we ate and drank. I also have to call out Manny who went above and beyond in helping me. We are regulars at the Turtle. The food is good and for the last 10 years the service has been great and is the main reason we love this place. Well tonight changed all that. Our dining experience was one of the worst we have had! Of course, when we brought someone that had never been to the turtle before we had the worst attitude from our Bartender/server Ariel. Right from the start her body language, and mannerisms said "ugh a family I don't want to be here". Service was slow and we had to ask for many items including water. The other bartender had to assist covering her tables and checking on us while Ariel disappeared for over 20 minutes. When you would ask her for things such as water or another drink, you felt like you were bothering her and hoping she wasn't going to spit in your drink since she'd already be walking away from the table rather than making sure that your request was heard and taken care of. In addition, she showed all attitude and zero empathy. Not once did we hear please or thank you even after delivering our bill of almost $200. Management - you really should be asking her guests how their experience is as we would not have hesitated to share. read more

Found this place while in the area for lunch. I called in my order and got the turkey burger. When I arrived I parked in the lot. I walked in and was greeted. I paid and left. When I dug in the sandwich was pretty good! I really liked the caramelized onions and the mustard sauce that it came with. The sandwich was very scrumptious and good. Sad food with little to no taste. Service was good however. I ordered the short rib tacos and the whole thing was refrigerator level cold with two little strips of meat per taco. Kids mac and cheese was flour and water without evidence of cheese in it. Other kids Grilled cheese was toasted bread with some type of cheese substance on it, bread wasn't even buttered first. Warmly greeted, taken directly to a table on the right side (casual dining to the right - large bar area to the left). Waitstaff and bus staff extremely friendly and efficient. My toddler loves it here for the kids meal. He gets a hot dog and it comes with GRAPES and a gogurt. My goodness! If only they cut the grapes ahead of time then it would be PERFECT. More restaurants should serve kids meals like that. The food is usually great. Though the one item I just don't recommend was fajitas. Though I had them last summer, the flavor profile was so strange. Maybe it was an off night. But anyway the food is usually very solid - cheesesteak and sandwiches all great. Pot stickers are good and the pretzel app. Beer menu is pretty vast and there's usually a sour/ cider too which is great. So many places have IPAs only these days. I'm a fan of Thirsty Turtle. Have been on many occasions. They have a great menu, service is quick and friendly, and food is always solid. It's kids friendly too. On my last visit I ordered the mahi mahi tacos. Unfortunately this was a miss. I often order fish tacos when they're on the menu and these were not good. I went in with low expectations, but left delighted! We had the filet mignon spring rolls, bruschetta chicken, and kobe black truffle burger. The spring rolls were delicious, and my burger was excellent! The black truffle burger review: the burger patty was SO thick and juicy! It had a hint of truffle, and needed a smidgen of more salt for seasoning, but there was some on the table to take care of that. There were two small slivers of brie that melted and danced with the kobe in your mouth. The bun was perfectly fresh (you know how some buns seem kinda stale... yeah. No, this one was absolutely good)! The pickle and fries paired well with the burger to make it a wholesome, complete meal. The mister liked his chicken, but picked out all of the tomatoes (which there were a LOT because it's bruschetta). If I ever came back to the area, I'd love to return to try different items! Good but nothing special. My boyfriend and I came here on a Friday because the original place we were going was booked. I've never heard of it before so didn't know what to expect. The inside is MASSIVE! It is so unassuming from the outside, wow! For drinks we got a Mediterranean Mule (figenza vodka, ginger beer, and lime) which was a 12/10 and my boyfriend ordered one beer and thinks they gave him a different one, but still enjoyed it. We got the Cuba Libra wings (sweet cola rum glaze, lightly jerk seasoned, toasted coconut, and peppercorn dipping sauce), the burger special (a boar burger), and a Cuban with onion rings. The wings were so interesting! A completely different flavor than I've ever had. The toasted coconut was so awesome, I loved it. And the dipping sauce? Perfection. The burger was delicious and cooked really well. The Cuban was good but buttery? And it's 100% my fault for not noticing this on the menu but to substitute fries for onion rings is $5. So my Cuban came out to be $20 and, dang. It was good, but not worth $20 in my opinion. All in all, the service was good and the food was decent. So I came here with my sister after work because I promised I'd get dinner with her on Friday. She found this place on her phone and figured why not and try this place out. It's only 10 minutes from our house and they were closing at 11pm and we got there at 10:30pm but they were willing to seat us and take our order. Ample amount of parking so you don't have to worry. I wasn't that hungry but seeing the chipotle burger on the menu made me want to get it ( i didn't realize that you get veggie coleslaw instead of fries but they were very accommodating and gave us a side of fries on the house). The burger was pretty good, not the best I have ever ate but still not bad. The fries were extra crispy and delicious which made my night. For dessert, I really wanted to try the keylime pie but man I was disappointed. It was pretty small and not good at all. Definitely not worth the $$. The creme brulee was good though so if you want a dessert, definitely go for that instead. Overall, not too shabby. Decent food, decent atmosphere, great service! read more

I recently met up with a friend at The Thirsty Turtle for lunch. It was a quiet day for the restaurant, and we had not seen each other in a while, and had a nice visit. The food was average, and the server pleasant but not very attentive. After a while, the place emptied a bit, and one of the managers stood about ten feet from me, and stared at me, making strange faces---then went over to the lights and dimmed them. It was clearly an attempt to get us to leave, though the place was nearly empty and it was early afternoon. I called to inquire about what I felt was unprofessional behavior, and was told they were checking the table and often dimmed the lights....in other words, I was given a song and dance after being made to feel very unwelcome. The site says it is a place "to gather," but I gather they would prefer you eat and leave quickly. It will be a long time before I would consider going there again. read more
